Cheng Peng asked hesitantly as he picked himself up from the ground, though he already had a guess, a feeling of aftershock spreading throughout his body.

Tang Yan left those words behind and pulled Jin Mo out of the door, disregarding Cheng Peng on the floor, letting him fend for himself.
The cold wind howled outside. Tang Yan tightly held Jin Mo's hand and entered the car. He took a tissue and wiped the blood stains on his fists and the dirt on his clothes, plunging the atmosphere into silence.
Tang Yan didn't say where they were going, merely driving aimlessly until he finally stopped at the highest point of Ningjiang, where they could take in the entire view.
Tang Yan pulled Jin Mo into his arms, and she snuggled up obediently, feeling the warmth of his chest.
"Don't be afraid! I've said I would protect you."
