"Residents of the city," Ferdinand replied, "Sir Judith suspects they are connected to Hirodod and are spies for the Blood Moon Association, so he had them and their families arrested."
"So many people are spies for the Blood Moon Association?" the Lady was taken aback.
"Of course not," Ferdinand shook his head, "the Blood Moon Association is well-organized and covert in its operations, making it difficult to be apprehended. Furthermore, its followers are all defiant unto death and would not betray others even when caught. Most of these people are just ordinary civilians.
"They might have spoken a few words of praise for Hirodod after a few drinks at the tavern or complained about the Marier family and then got arrested.
