Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The sun's gift, the forest trial

Emil stood, his body trembling, the mechanical voice echoing in his mind. "Chosen?" he whispered, his voice hoarse. Chosen for what?

"Chosen to bear the Sun God's fragment," the voice responded, its tone now carrying a faint resonance of power. "To walk a path that will reshape the very fabric of existence."

A status window appeared before his inner eye, a cascade of information that seemed to burn itself into his consciousness.

He frowned. "Order to the universe? But… I'm just me. I'm blind, weak…"

"Your current state is irrelevant. The fragment has chosen you for your potential, not your present circumstances."

Ding!

"A newbie package for the host."

"Due to the host's condition and environment, we are adjusting the package to meet the host's condition."

A moment of silence, then:

Ding!

"The newbie package has arrived."

"Are you going to open it?"

"Yes," Emil said, his voice firm. He had nothing to lose.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

"You have acquired a Sun God breathing technique, absolute being grade, but due to host level and world spiritual energy, its level has reduced vastly to beginner stage and it's upgradable."

"Host has acquired sun eyes at beginner stage, upgradable."

"Host has acquired beginner's energy pills 3x, a common sword, and a common set of sun attire."

Ding!

"Reminder, host. You can use SCP to access the Sun God store. You can get SCP by doing missions provided by the system or eradicating evil and helping others."

"Last reminder, host is left with the path choosing…"

Ding!

*"Rogue cultivator or magician

Clan establishment

Sect establishment

Kingdom building

Host, choose your path."

Emil's mind reeled. "Path choosing? But… I don't even know what any of that means! Can we discuss this later? I'm still too weak."

"System, equip the sun eyes."

"Host level is too low to equip the sun eyes. Use the energy pills and practice the Sun God breathing technique to reach level 4."

"Good luck, host. When you reach level 4, you will hear from me again. Bye."

"What?" Emil cried out, but the voice was gone. "Damn system! How am I supposed to read the breathing technique?"

"Just open it. It will integrate itself into you. So practice it diligently, bye."

The information about the breathing technique flooded into his mind, a torrent of knowledge that left him breathless. He could feel the warmth of the sun, even through the thick canopy, and the intricate pathways of energy within his own body.

He fumbled in his new attire, finding the energy pills. He swallowed one, and a surge of warmth spread through him, easing the aches and pains of his fall.

He then found the book. He opened it, and the information was integrated into his mind.

He sat cross-legged on the riverbank, the damp earth cold beneath him, and began to practice. The Sun God breathing technique was more than just an exercise; it was a connection to the very essence of the sun, a way to draw its power into his body.

The forest around him was a symphony of sounds, but he focused on the rhythm of his breath, the flow of energy within him. He was blind, alone, and vulnerable, but he was no longer helpless. He had a path, a purpose, and the power of the sun within him.

The forbidden forest, with all its dangers, was now his trial.
