Chapter 17 - Learning the Martial Skill Closest to "Divine Domain"

After that spear throw, the sky suddenly began to drizzle.

The sound of the rain grew louder as the rain intensified.

However, neither of them paid any attention to the bad weather,

and Hector patiently explained the techniques involved in using his muscles and generating force during the throw to Night.

Combining these insights with the concepts of qi and blood circulation and energy generation from his homeland's martial arts,

The latter quickly grasped the various force techniques Hector described.

However, the understanding of how to convert his internal life force into a form of energy like 'qi' was too elusive and confusing, causing him to furrow his brows in concentration.

But even Hector didn't know how to teach him to use this power.

After all, it required personal enlightenment, a moment of understanding that just clicked.

Hector couldn't even provide a specialized term for this power.

Night, combining it with his own understanding, temporarily referred to the power generated by converting life force as 'qi.'

Hector's earlier strike had opened the door to a new world for him.

He could still clearly recall the feeling, but he was just a step away from fully grasping it.

However, he knew that such things couldn't be rushed...

So he continued to learn weapon techniques from Hector, while constantly attempting to replicate the spear-throwing motion from that day.

He could clearly sense a faint presence of qi within his body, proving that there was no inherent difference between his body and those of humans from the mythological era, and that he could indeed learn this power.

What he needed to do now was learn how to convert his abundant life force into qi, and use it to strengthen his body, continuously enhancing and nourishing it until he could achieve a superhuman form like Achilles or Hector.

Hector mentioned that combat could help him better feel his internal potential.

So—whenever they had free time, Night would pester Hector to train with him.

The latter would voluntarily control his strength, trying to match Night's physical capabilities.

However, a lion, no matter how restrained, could never truly become a house cat, and the inherent strength of Hector's body occasionally slipped through unconsciously, always putting pressure and even causing slight injuries to Night.

Because they lacked wooden weapons, they had to use real ones,

and after Night was once scratched by Hector's spear, the latter seriously suggested that they should postpone their sparring until they returned to the city and could switch to wooden weapons for the next phase of training,

But Night refused...

Knowing the formidable enemy they would face next (the demigod Achilles), he had already understood that without seizing every moment to grow stronger, he might not even get close to the enemy.

Time was running out for him.

Moved by Night's determination and tenacity, Hector grew even more impressed with the young mn.

A true warrior faces life and death head-on; even if they cannot be fearless of death, they will never retreat from a bit of danger or hardship.

Such individuals rarely grow into true heroes.

He had judged Night correctly…

As a prince of Troy who fought his way through blood and fire, and as Troy's greatest hero,

Hector was not one for tender mercy.

So in the days that followed, he stopped holding back, and even intentionally displayed glimpses of his immense power, to create pressure for Night and aid his growth.

In battles against this human-shaped dragon of strength, equal to Achilles, even the slightest inadvertent display of power could inflict severe injuries,

Night indeed felt immense pressure, and in this intense crisis,

he continued to fight, observe, and learn from Hector's combat style, gradually comprehending more and more…

Occasionally, he could unconsciously convert a bit of life force into explosive qi.

After discovering this breakthrough,

Night became even more eager to train, without Hector needing to push him.

'His growth speed is astonishing…' Hector openly marveled at Night's rapid progress, which convinced the latter that he indeed had the potential to become a hero.

His body in the simulated universe was a materialized form of his spiritual body, a perfect replica of reality.

Perhaps the [Star Core] inside him had altered his physique.

Originally, as an ordinary person living in the future modern world,

he couldn't imagine possessing a growth rate that even mythological humans would admire,

After all, his previously unhealthy body would be out of breath after a few laps and it was likely not even as strong as the weakest Trojan soldier.

Of course—

Night's rapid progress was also due to his obsessive and relentless learning attitude.

This intense drive even drew Hector into its rhythm, slowing down their journey for a while.

This transformation was observed by the accompanying Trojan soldiers, who went from shock to awe, and finally became numb.

They felt as if another 'monster' as powerful as Hector was about to be born.

This brought great reassurance to the Trojan soldiers.

In ancient Greece, the nature of revering the strong changed their view of Night from a lucky fellow recognized by Hector to someone deserving respect.

Although Night was still just a soldier, their gazes towards him

now carried a hint of respect for his strength.

Soldier A: "Lord Hector is teaching that man the 'Martial Arts of the Divine Realm,' isn't he?"

Soldier B: "Surpassing mortal strength..."

"Only heroes can master this, a technique advancing relentlessly toward the domain of the gods.

Undoubtedly, we are witnessing the birth of a new hero."

The soldiers watched the distant pair in combat—not so much a battle, but more Hector feeding moves to Night—and couldn't help but discuss it.

Clearly, the soldiers didn't understand the method of converting life force into power.

But…as Hector's loyal soldiers, they knew their lord's martial skills inside and out.

If— mastering the conversion of life force into extraordinary power marks the potential for heroism,

then—Hector's 'throwing technique,'

though unnamed, is genuinely a peak martial skill that only a true hero could master.

Be it spears or divine lances…

As a queen of a certain shadowy kingdom once said, a spear's strike, when perfected, can slay gods with ease.

Hector's throwing technique, while not yet capable of slaying celestial gods was so powerful that even ordinary heroes could be easily killed, and the nearly impenetrable shield of Ajax almost shattered under its force.

The soldiers once overheard heroes speaking highly of Hector's throwing technique at banquets, calling it the martial skill closest to the 'Divine Realm,' though what exactly 'Divine Realm' martial skills entailed, the soldiers didn't know,

they simply felt its overwhelming greatness.

But even if they couldn't fully grasp its significance, they understood it was not something an ordinary hero could learn.
