Chapter 138 - Chapter 136: Selena's Cultic Constitution

Chapter 136: Selena's Cultic Constitution

Archer glanced at the two strangers behind Selena. Selena quickly introduced them, "They are my friends."

Archer paused on Hobert for a second or two, then withdrew his gaze, "I need her hair, blood, nails, or something she often uses."

Selena was prepared and took out a headdress, "This was given to me by Elizabeth last week. She wore it for a while before I had the chance."

Archer nodded, took out a crystal ball, and placed the headdress beneath it.

Then he began to theatrically chant, as if entering a frenzied state.

Selena and even Melissa were stunned, while Hobert coldly observed from the side. He knew such divinations didn't require any nonsense chants, and he also guessed that the Archer before him should be a Secrets Supplicant.

The ample spirituality of a Secrets Supplicant was enough for them to use some tools to perform divination-like operations.

However, Archer should be a Sequence 7 or Sequence 8, and all the abilities of a Secrets Supplicant should be enhanced.

After a series of operations, Archer took a deep breath and recovered from his frenzied state. He touched the crystal ball and said, "Your friend is in the outskirts to the east, in an abandoned villa."

"Hurry! The criminals are preparing to leave there. If you're late, you won't find them."

"Thank you, Mr. Archer," Selena said, getting up to leave.

However, Hobert asked, "What is the cost of this divination?"

Archer glanced at Hobert, "Selena's divination is free."

Selena smiled proudly.

"No," Hobert said, "I believe every gift from fate has a price."

He continued, "Besides, this is about respect for you and the divination."

Archer stared at Hobert for a second or two before saying, "5 soli."

Hobert handed over 5 soli and then said, "Please return the headdress to me."

He spread out a handkerchief in his palm and held it out to Archer.

Archer took the money, placed the damaged headdress on the handkerchief.

Both movements were slow, as if they were making a transaction more dangerous than high explosives.

Finally, Hobert put away the handkerchief, and the atmosphere in the room immediately eased.

Selena thanked Mr. Archer again, and the three left the dim room one after another.

After getting on the carriage, Hobert instructed the coachman to head east towards the abandoned villa.

Inside the carriage, Melissa was somewhat surprised, "Mr. Lawyer, you don't really believe in the divination just now, do you?"

"Why not?" Selena smiled.

Hobert said seriously, "Miss Selena, please remember the principle of equivalent exchange when dealing with enthusiasts of these mysteries in the future.

"If anyone is willing to provide you with some mysterious services for free, it's because they have greater ambitions."

Selena was first startled, then smiled, "Mr. Lawyer, are you also an enthusiast of mysticism?"

"Also," Hobert continued seriously, "Do not leave your blood, hair, nails, or things you often carry with you to others for yourself, your family, or friends."

He handed over his handkerchief, "These things can be used to find people or to curse."

The smile on Selena's face disappeared, and she took the handkerchief, "I remember."

Then Hobert answered Melissa's question, "Let's trust that divination for now, or we have no other clues."

As for Archer's divination results, Hobert estimated they should be correct. After all, Archer had to maintain his charlatan image in front of Selena.

Melissa nodded and said no more.

Hobert asked again, "Miss Selena, how did you meet Archer?"

"After my teacher, Hanass Vincent, who taught me divination, passed away, I went to mourn him." Selena replied, "I met Mr. Archer who had the same purpose in the cemetery."

Hobert nodded. The exposure and sudden death of Hanass must have attracted the attention and investigation of the Aurora Order.

And this Archer was probably sent by the Aurora Order to investigate the cause of Hanass's death and exposure, as well as to establish contact with Hanass's students.

But he was also really arrogant, appearing openly at Hanass's grave, wasn't he afraid of the surveillance that might exist among the official Beyonders?

Then Hobert was relieved, these were madmen, they couldn't be reasoned with by common sense.

Hobert continued, "Today is Wednesday, aren't you going to class? Why did you have to mourn Hanass today?"

"I've been dreaming about my teacher a lot recently." Selena smiled bitterly, "And the contents of the dreams are almost the same, urging me to mourn him as soon as possible."

She had just finished speaking when she saw Mr. Lawyer close his eyes. She wasn't sure if it was her illusion. When Mr. Lawyer opened his eyes again, his eyes seemed even deeper.

This was certainly not her illusion. Hobert opened his spirit vision because of the blessing of the "Spirit Necklace," and his spirit vision could see all undead creatures.

But he found nothing, "Since when did the same dream start appearing?"

"From..." Selena thought for a moment, then was surprised, "Since I met Mr. Archer."

"Then never go to mourn Hanass," Hobert said seriously, "I don't know what's going on, but I know that as long as you appear at Hanass's grave, you will definitely be harmed."

Selena was somewhat frightened and somewhat at a loss.

"Then go to the confessional at the church and tell the priest about this. I believe Hanass will not appear in your dreams again." Hobert said, "And for the sake of your safety and that of your family, don't contact Archer again!"

Selena seemed to understand something, but also seemed to understand nothing, "Okay, okay..."

Then she reluctantly smiled, "Mr. Lawyer, you know so much!"

Hobert did not respond to Selena's praise, but continued to admonish, "Unless there is a trustworthy guide to be your guide, do not follow teachers in mysterious fields at random."

To be honest, this was the first time he had seen someone with a "cultic constitution."

At this point, the coachman said, "Sir, there really is an abandoned villa!"

They had arrived in the suburbs by the time they spoke, and Hobert told the coachman, "Don't slow down, just drive past."

Through the carriage window, the three saw an abandoned villa overgrown with weeds in the yard.

Thinking back to the divination just now, Melissa was somewhat surprised, but she immediately thought that there seemed to be many abandoned villas in the outskirts.

Hobert smiled, "Looks like this is it! Whatever happens later, don't get out of the carriage."

Melissa and Selena immediately understood that Mr. Lawyer intended to rescue people alone!
