Chapter 152 - Chapter 149: Battle with the Evil God' Spawn (Bonus 1)

Chapter 149: Battle with the Evil God' Spawn

Backland, Headquarters of the Nighthawks.

Daly had been on duty in the dispatch room for many days. Today, she finally couldn't hold on anymore. After receiving a telegram from Tingen City, she collapsed into a chair for a rest.

When the administrative staff received the first telegram, they felt the situation wasn't urgent enough and Daly was sound asleep. So, they first delivered the telegram to Captain Thomas and planned to inform Daly later.

However, when the administrative staff received the second telegram with just the phrase "The Evil God Descends," they felt the urgency of the situation.

They quickly woke Daly up. After reading the message, Daly immediately went to Thomas's office. "I need to see the Archbishop!"

Only the Archbishop had the means to support Tingen City within minutes!

Tingen City, within the Blackthorn Security Company.

Upon hearing Hobert's suggestion, Dunn shook his head. "The influence of Megose's child is high; she wouldn't submit so easily."

Hobert said, "I can try. Even if it doesn't succeed, we won't lose much."

Dunn considered for a moment and nodded.

Hobert breathed a sigh of relief. Although Dunn wasn't in the right state today, he hadn't lost his sanity.

He returned to the reception hall of the security company. Megose looked somewhat agitated by now, scratching her head and pulling out a handful of hair, naturally tossing it into the trash.

Leonard's expression had stiffened. He silently swore to himself never to flirt with ladies randomly again.

Hobert smiled, "A few days ago, we got something good. It's two golden deer antlers that grew on the head of a bull."

Megose first showed a twisted smile and then said, "My child says that the horns of the Golden Horned Demon are very delicious."

With Hobert's relay, Leonard relaxed, following Hobert's nod towards the back of the reception hall.

"We've placed the two golden deer antlers in the basement." Just standing opposite Megose, Hobert felt immense spiritual pressure.

He resisted this pressure with all his might. "If your child wants to eat them, please follow me to the basement, and I'll give them to him."

"Thank you, kind sir." Megose smiled gently. "Today, my child seems to lack energy and needs some nutrition."

Saying this, she got up and followed Hobert towards the underground entrance of the Blackthorn Security Company.

Hobert casually asked as they walked, "He's lacking energy today?"

"Yes, usually, he's quite active." Megose said. "But this morning, he said today was a crucial day, and he only speaks to me occasionally."

Hobert took a deep breath and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "He's a good boy."

"Yes." Megose smiled warmly. "For example, right now, my child tells me there's danger underground, and you're taking me down to harm us."

Hobert froze in place, feeling as though he was being stared at by the Grim Reaper.

"Is that true, sir?" Megose asked calmly, her tone unchanged.

"How could that be?" Hobert laughed. "Your child is as humorous as his father!"

Megose seemed like a melting wax figure. Some thick liquid began to flow down her head, her smile becoming unusually terrifying. "Sorry, sir, I can't go down with you, so you'll have to die!"

Although Hobert was prepared early, he rolled forward immediately, but he couldn't dodge in time and was scratched deeply on his back by Megose's suddenly long nails.

Relying on the sturdy physique of a "Barbarian," he rolled down from the stairs.

When he looked back, Megose had already left the intersection of the underground passage.

Ignoring the wound on his back, Hobert picked up his cane and charged forward.

Thump-thump~

He took three or four steps in one go. Suddenly, he felt that his "Barbarian" potion had digested quite a bit at this critical moment.

He immediately understood. If Megose didn't enter the Chanis Gate, the Evil God would arrive early in the reception hall, a script written by "0-08."

As long as he participated in this matter, he had to follow the script of "0-08." Hobert's recent actions were obviously disrupting this script and not following the rules of "0-08."

So Hobert's "Barbarian" potion was digested.

But now wasn't the time to think about this. Just as he returned to the first floor, he heard Megose screaming and questioning, "I won't let you hurt my child!"

Dunn had already appeared in the reception hall holding an urn of ashes, blocking Megose's way out. Klein and Leonard were hiding in a nearby room, ready to strike at any moment.

Despite Megose's shocking scream, Hobert rushed into the reception hall, planting his cane on the ground. "Order!"

Looking at the "Tree of Order" rapidly growing, he laughed loudly. "You're weak, your whole family is weak!"

The reception hall became unusually quiet. The order under the canopy became advantageous to dark forces, thieves' powers, and sunlight powers, suppressing the powers of filth and corruption.

With a loud voice, Hobert focused Megose's attention on him. By now, her entire face had "melted," revealing bones, looking hideous and terrifying. She raised her hand and reached for Hobert.

But at this moment, Hobert had already picked up the "Teleportation Statue." He wanted to move Megose away, but he immediately discovered that the ability of the "Teleportation Statue" couldn't move Megose, only slowing her down.

No wonder the Nighthawks defined it as a Grade 2 Sealed Artifact, it turns out its effect was limited when facing high-level enemies.

Since he couldn't move Megose, Hobert quickly retreated. His goal just now was to attract Megose's attention and create an opportunity for Dunn.

Now that his goal was achieved, he acted like a "Barbarian" and withdrew.

After the battle began, with the "Teleportation Statue" in hand, he assisted Dunn and the others to "blink."

Seizing this opportunity, Dunn opened the "Saint Selena's Ashes." Inside the urn was an intense darkness, and within the darkness were bright strands.

The reception hall suddenly darkened, countless black, cold filaments surged towards Megose, instantly wrapping her up.

Megose suddenly shouted in a hoarse voice, "You must die!"

In the instant she opened her mouth, as the holder of the "Tree of Order," Hobert redirected her extraordinary attack onto a wall.

However, the "Tree of Order" couldn't redirect all of Megose's attacks. Just as she finished speaking, Hobert felt a tremendous impact on both his physical and spirit bodies. Blood flowed from the corners of his eyes and mouth.

This should be the highest-level opponent he had encountered since crossing over.

He wiped the blood from his eyes, but it was still much better than when it was just Dunn and the others, at least Dunn wasn't injured right away.

Klein and Leonard took advantage of this opportunity to rush out. Leonard reached out and stole Megose's upcoming "Profanity," while Klein threw out one of the "Flaring Sun Charms."

The high "Tree of Order" made way for the sunlight, opening a small gap, and a ball of light fell from the sky, slamming heavily on Megose.

After the bright light flashed, Hobert knew Megose hadn't been dealt with yet. "Give it another shot!"

Klein hadn't yet understood what Hobert meant, but the four of them saw a black baby hanging between Megose's legs.

The baby was very small, looking like it weighed only five or six pounds. He was sucking on something with the umbilical cord in his mouth, making gurgling sounds.

Upon seeing the baby, all four of them showed signs of losing control to varying degrees!

Dunn, who wasn't in a good state, was the most affected. Hobert quickly adjusted the "Tree of Order," making the order under the canopy more favorable for resisting madness and losing control.

In the few seconds they fought against the loss of control, Megose, who had already been dried out by the light ball, stretched out her withered hand and touched the baby's head. "Child, my child."

Then Megose collapsed to the ground, flesh and blood turning to dust, leaving only a pile of bones.

Because the baby absorbed all of its mother's nutrients, it quickly grew to the size of a four or five-year-old. His skin was gray all over, as if there were no blood flowing, his appearance was ferocious, his eyes fierce, without a trace of the innocence and cuteness that a child should have.

This was the birth of the Evil God' Spawn, not the descent of the Evil God. If it were the descent of the Evil God, Hobert and the others would already be dead.

The Evil God' Spawn intended to kill everyone before him because it was these presumptuous people who forced him to descend early, so he had only a small fraction of the power of the "True Creator".

He needed to hold the corresponding ceremony, sacrificing many living beings, to help him establish a broader connection with the "True Creator," so that the "True Creator" could utilize him to descend upon the mortal world.

The moment he descended, Tingen City would no longer have any living beings; this city would become a part of his Divine Kingdom.

Even with only a tiny fraction of the True Creator's power, it gave the Evil God' Spawn an ability comparable to the Pathway Sequence 4 of the "Secret Supplicant"! His birth also filled the entire reception hall with the power of filth and corruption!

Moreover, he was the "Evil God' Spawn," a near-complete mythical creature with a status much higher than Sequence 4, causing signs of loss of control just from being seen by Hobert and the others.

Hobert was the first to recover. He turned his head away, not needing to look to deeply feel the malice from the Evil God' Spawn.

"This... this doesn't quite match the original description!"

However, now wasn't the time to be bewildered. Run! With just Megose's words, they could delay her for a while, but facing a genuine Evil God' Spawn was a completely different level of opponent!

As soon as this thought crossed his mind, he suddenly realized that his shadow had come alive, standing up and attempting to snatch the "Teleportation Statue" from his hand!

The shadows of the other three people also came to life. Dunn's shadow didn't try to grab the "Saint Selena's Ashes" but instead twisted its own head, aligning it parallel with its shoulders. Dunn's neck also suffered a heavy blow, unable to support itself any longer, falling to the ground against the wall.

Leonard struggled to free himself from his shadow's entanglement while raising the hand holding the Blood Vessel Thief: "Blaspheme Curse...!" This was the ability he had just stolen!

"Hahaha~"

But just as Leonard opened his mouth, a sharp childlike laughter interrupted his "curse," causing all four people to feel as if a sledgehammer had struck their chests simultaneously, each spitting out fresh blood.

Dunn used his strong willpower to continue using "Saint Selena's Ashes," but this time the tentacles seemed uncontrollable, not daring to approach the Evil God' Spawn.

At the same time, Dunn's shadow arm turned into spikes, piercing through his chest, blood immediately spreading across Dunn's front.

Then the Evil God' Spawn seemed to change targets: "Die!"

Leonard seemed to have been struck by a tremendous force and was sent flying into the wall.

However, in the nick of time, Hobert moved him next to himself, but Leonard was already pale and fainted.

They were completely outmatched!

This couldn't go on like this!

Hobert retreated to the corner: "Buy me a few seconds!"

Dunn caught the blood flowing from his chest with the ash box. The tentacles "boldly" entangled the Evil God' Spawn.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Klein shouted, "Light!" He threw out the second "Flaring Sun Charm."

The Evil God' Spawn suddenly said, "Light, shine upon the earth!"

Just as it seemed the fireballs in the sky were about to fall, the light ball flashed a few times and exploded in mid-air, truly shining upon the earth.

The Evil God' Spawn easily broke free from the tentacles and attempted to counterattack using his ability to "Blasphemy Curse," but now it was completely ineffective against Hobert.

The Evil God' Spawn was more agile than a monkey, which caused Hobert's two attacks to miss.

It was quite embarrassing to think about it. He, the magnificent "Creator," currently only had these two types of presentable powers, and their attack range wasn't very large.

Also, because Hobert had to spend one or two seconds gathering strength for each attack, his attack speed wasn't fast.

After a moment's thought, Hobert had an idea. He reached out and summoned the black eye that had been trapped in the stone box: "Take a look at this good thing for you!"

Using his spiritual energy, he activated the power of the black eye in front of him and directed its power toward the Evil God' Spawn.

This was equivalent to creating a path to the "Knowledge Moor" and placing it in front of the Evil God' Spawn. This time, he couldn't dodge it, standing there immediately, deep black pupils reflecting a giant eye composed of flames.

Hobert used the maximum extent of his "Power of Disorder" that he could mobilize to envelop the Spawn of the Evil God.

Crack!

The Evil God' Spawn exploded like a shattered tomato.

Hobert swept around with his "True Vision" and found no lingering souls or anything like that. The Evil God' Spawn was completely dead.

This not only made him sigh: indeed, a status that overwhelmed everything else; without the "Nation of Disorder," he would have had no chance against the Evil God' Spawn.
