The broken latch on the door slammed shut as Hobert turned to Xio and Fors. "Pack your things, we're moving somewhere else for a couple of days."

Fors asked, "Where are we going?"

"To Blackthorn Security Company! Quickly, before they realize!"

The three of them grabbed a change of clothes and secured the door with iron wire before boarding a rented carriage and leaving.

Once on the carriage, Xio asked, "What were they trying to search for when they wanted to come in earlier? Why were they so urgent?"

"Obviously, they were searching for those two corpses," Hobert smiled. "I almost fell for their trick."

Xio countered, "But didn't burglars break into our house? We're the victims here."

"That's one way to put it, but there's plenty of room for maneuvering," Hobert said. "As a lawyer, it's standard procedure to report deaths at home. As long as investigators classify the deaths as part of a home invasion or similar crime, it's self-defense. We can be released on bail tomorrow."

"But the problem lies here," Hobert continued. "According to regulations, the classification of self-defense can't exceed five working days. If it's deemed self-defense, I can be released immediately, and if the victim's family doesn't file a lawsuit within a month, they'll even refund the bail money."

Hobert chuckled, "They were ready to exploit this 'five-day' loophole. They know as a lawyer, it's hard to pin intentional murder on me during questioning. And in my experience, determinations on self-defense are usually quick."

"Knowing this, they can use my understanding to delay the investigation," Hobert explained. "For instance, if they want to mess with me, they can declare it self-defense after Bob's trial ends. But by then, even if I get bail, what's the use? So I can't call the police or let them find the bodies."

Hobert couldn't help but laugh at the irony of playing this loophole game with someone like him, a lawyer who loves exploiting loopholes.

After a moment of silence in the carriage, Fors suddenly exclaimed, "I have to write this incident into my new book! This courtroom duel outside the courtroom is just too exciting!"

Xio nodded slightly in agreement with his friend's words, then belatedly asked, "What about the bodies? Where did they go?"

"I used some mystical means to hide the bodies. After the trial, I'll deal with them," Hobert explained casually, as if hiding two bodies wasn't too difficult for someone with his extensive knowledge of mysticism.

In the eyes of Xio and Fors, Hobert possessed rich knowledge of mysticism, so hiding two bodies seemed like child's play to him.

When the rented carriage arrived at the front of Blackthorn Security Company, the three got off the carriage and glanced at the two carriages following behind.

They had noticed these two carriages long ago and knew they were being followed, but they didn't take it seriously.

Hobert walked to the front and knocked on the door. He glanced at the six or seven people who got down from the two carriages behind them. If these people tried anything here, they were asking for trouble.

After knocking for a minute, Loretta, whom he had seen at the Obsidian Bar, yawned and opened the door. She looked slightly surprised to see Hobert first. "Didn't I say today isn't payday?"

"I'm not here for wages!" Hobert sighed. "Let us in."

Loretta also noticed the people outside and let Hobert and the others into the house.

Thunk~

The door closed.

Hobert said, "Is Captain Thomas here?"

"He just received a report that someone attacked Bob, and he and Borges went to check," Loretta replied.

Hobert was taken aback. "How's Bob? Was he hurt?"

"No, after we met this afternoon, two colleagues have been protecting Bob. Although there was an attack, it was stopped at the beginning," Loretta explained.

Hobert glanced at the lady. Did she always talk like this?

He sat on the sofa and tested its hardness. "We'll be sleeping here tonight and tomorrow night."

Loretta looked outside. "Were you attacked too? These people are too audacious."

"Fortunately, I didn't block their way to make money," Hobert chuckled. "If you think you don't have enough manpower to protect us, I suggest you inform the 'Machinery Hivemind.' Captain Ikanser promised to ensure my safety."

"I'll report to him when the captain returns," Loretta said. "I'll go find some blankets for you."

Xio and Fors, who had been following Hobert closely, exchanged glances. They had already understood from Hobert and Loretta's conversation that this was the territory of official Beyonders.

For them, it was somewhat magical that two wild Beyonders were now under the protection of official Beyonders!

After getting the blankets, Hobert pointed to another sofa and said to the visibly restrained Xio and Fors, "Sleep here. We're absolutely safe here."

If anyone wanted to attack the Nighthawks team's headquarters, it would be good news for Hobert. Arnold, as a defendant, might not even be able to appear in court the day after tomorrow.

There was no conversation that night, and Thomas didn't return until the next day. He was a "Spirit Warlock," Sequence 5 of the "Sleepless" pathway, and could stay awake for three days and nights without feeling tired.

It's just that his hairline... was much better than Dunn's.

Having spent the night on the sofa, Hobert stretched and realized that the bed was much more comfortable than the sofa.

Hobert and Thomas chatted for a while, and Thomas expressed the church's support for Hobert, similar to Captain Ikanser's promise, ensuring Hobert's safety.

After a quick wash in the washroom, Hobert put on his overcoat, and with Xio and Fors already prepared, they left together. But this time, they were accompanied by Borgia, who ensured their safety.

Borgia was a Sequence 8, not as strong as Hobert in combat, but his presence by Hobert's side was a statement from the Church of the Evernight Goddess.

Hobert believed that Arnold and the others, as long as they were still sane, wouldn't attack him at this time.

The four of them took a carriage from the Church to Viscount Glaint's mansion. Borgia was invited to the living room for tea, while Hobert, Xio, and Fors went to the study for an emergency meeting of the "Justice League."

In the study, Hobert noticed a young man sitting behind Viscount Glaint. He didn't expect Glaint to recruit a new member so quickly.

Viscount Glaint introduced, "This is Hobert, Xio, and Fors, three of the other founders of the 'Justice League.'"

He continued, "This is Karl Vincent, the younger son of Count Vincent."
