Sithorne spoke through gritted teeth.
He was well aware of how dire his situation was.
Luo Bai held the power of the fairies in his hands and had already devoured most of Sithorne's strength. At this moment, he had no leverage to negotiate.
If he refused to sign the contract, the fairy power would undoubtedly consume him.
But if he signed it, he might still have a chance to survive and regain his power later.
Back when he was being hunted by the Devourer, he had thought the same way.
A wise man adapts to the times.
Even if he was unwilling, Sithorne had no choice but to sign the contract.
With no other options, he did.
Luo Bai, watching Sithorne leave his signature on the contract, smiled in satisfaction and stored it away.
Just as he was about to leave, Sithorne suddenly spoke up.
"You can't just leave like this!"
Luo Bai turned back, still smiling. "Oh? What, you're still not convinced?"
Sithorne hesitated, his expression conflicted.
After a long pause, he sighed helplessly.
"It's not that I'm not convinced… It's just that the fairy power has devoured too much of my strength. I'm extremely weak right now. If you leave me like this, I won't be able to fend off my enemies…"
God knows how difficult it was for Sithorne to say these words.
He had been hiding here to escape being hunted down.
He had spent countless years increasing his strength to reclaim his place on Earth.
And yet… the moment he returned, he was defeated by an Earth wizard!
To make things worse, most of the energy he had accumulated in the Dark Dimension had been taken away by the Supreme Sorcerer.
He was now too weak to recover in a short time.
But as a god of black magic, an evil deity, could Sithorne really have no enemies?
If word got out that he was so weak—so weak that even the power of the fairies could consume him—his enemies wouldn't hesitate to devour him first.
Since he had already signed a contract with Luo Bai, it was clear he wanted to avoid that fate. Naturally, he couldn't just let Luo Bai walk away.
With this in mind, Sithorne spoke again.
"I've already signed your contract.
We're in a cooperative relationship now, aren't we?
If I'm devoured by my enemies, that won't be good for you either.
So, why don't you return my power? With my strength restored, I can defend myself against other evil gods and continue supplying you with power."
His reasoning was sound.
After all, Sithorne wasn't the only ancient god in this multiverse. He wasn't the only evil god Luo Bai had to deal with either.
If Sithorne was this weak, it would be troublesome if he was targeted and eliminated.
Even Wong started considering the implications of this.
"Supreme Sorcerer, Sithorne has a point," Wong said. "You've already weakened him significantly. If other evil gods come looking for him, it could put Earth in danger as well."
Hearing this, Luo Bai asked with a smirk, "So, are you saying I should return his power?"
Wong immediately objected.
"Of course not! We worked so hard to weaken Sithorne—if we give his power back, all our efforts will be wasted!
Sithorne is the god of black magic. Who can guarantee that, once he regains his strength, he won't break the contract, attack Earth, and take revenge on us?"
Then, before Sithorne could argue, Wong added another suggestion.
"In fact… why not just devour him completely? That way, we won't have to worry about him being taken by other evil gods, and we won't have to return his power either."
Wong's words made Sithorne furious.
He had assumed that among all the Earth sorcerers, Luo Bai was the only one who used underhanded tactics—relying on fairy power to commit his "evil" deeds.
But now… he realized they were all just as ruthless as each other!
"I…!!!"
Sithorne wanted to argue, but he was so enraged that he couldn't form a sentence.
He glared at Wong and Luo Bai, his eyes burning with fury.
The scariest part?
Luo Bai remained silent, as if he was actually considering killing him.
Realizing that Luo Bai might genuinely unleash the fairy power to devour him, Sithorne panicked.
"You can't do this! We signed a contract!!! You promised that as long as I provided energy, you wouldn't consume me!!"
Luckily, Luo Bai didn't seem inclined to break the deal.
"I've already considered this issue," Luo Bai said with a smirk. "But I'm not worried. As long as you abide by the contract and serve me loyally, your dimension will remain intact."
Most people wouldn't understand this, but Luo Bai himself knew it very well.
His greatest advantage wasn't fairy power.
It was his unbelievably good luck.
He firmly believed that the goddess of luck would always favor him and that no real danger would ever befall him.
Even recently, when the three evil gods—Mephisto, Dormammu, and Sithorne—descended upon Earth, Luo Bai didn't see their arrival as a threat but rather as an opportunity.
For him, their presence only meant more benefits.
Because of this, Luo Bai wasn't the least bit concerned about Sithorne's worries.
Even if Sithorne were to be devoured one day, it wouldn't pose any threat to Luo Bai or Earth. If anything, it would likely bring him another wave of benefits.
Thinking this, Luo Bai looked at Sithorne and smiled.
"Sithorne, I know exactly what you're thinking. But I suggest you suppress your desires and any hidden schemes. Otherwise, you won't have to wait for your enemies to come after you—I will deal with you myself."
"The contract is meant to bind you, not me. I hope you understand that."
With that, Luo Bai turned and left, taking Wong and the others with him.
As he departed, he casually severed the connection between Sithorne's dimension and Earth.
Even after Luo Bai had completely disappeared from the dimension, Sithorne remained frozen in shock.
Looking around at his ruined domain, he recalled Luo Bai's parting words, and his anger only intensified.
No!
What kind of world is this?!
The villains preach about the spirit of contracts, yet the Supreme Sorcerer outright tells you: "I'll follow the contract if I feel like it, and if I don't, I won't"?!
Vishanti!!!
Aren't you supposed to be the patrons of White Magic?!
What kind of sorcerers are you raising?! They're more ruthless than the evil gods themselves!
Furious but powerless, Sithorne could only grit his teeth and focus on recovering his strength.
While Sithorne stewed in his rage, Luo Bai and the others had already returned to the New York villa.
Polaris was brimming with excitement. The moment they arrived, she turned to Luo Bai, her eyes shining with admiration.
"Master Luo Bai! What was that fairy power you just used? Even Sithorne couldn't stand against it!"
Her expression was that of a devoted fangirl.
Before Luo Bai could respond, Wong chimed in, curiosity evident on his face.
"Supreme Sorcerer, I must admit, I'm also very curious. What exactly is the power of the fairies?"
