And Ai came back to her home with a sad face, she doesn't knows that would have happened to Cyen and how he got sick all of a sudden that he can't even come to school for exams.
"How was your first exam?" Asked Ai's mother sweetly but Ai continued walking away with still being sad and murmured, "... That was good, I will pass easily."
And Ai walked to her room and her mother didn't understood that why is Ai so upset and down.
And Ai changed and lied on her bed with still being sad and took out her phone.
She had Cyen's number so she messaged him.
> Hey, Cyen, are you alright? I heard that you are sick, should I come to help you and make meals or bring something to eat?
But now she remembered about yesterday's incident again and was now afraid, if he would have got to know about the chocolate and wouldn't reply then? She only has him as a school friend and if he becomes upset then it's over, she will get no more suggestions of novels, she will not more get chocolate and ice cream, she will become lonely again.
But Ai just ignored her thoughts and stood and started, "I will get to know the answer soon, if he didn't replied... Then it's it."
And Ai moved out of her room.
And Cyen was actually sleeping in his bedroom so he couldn't see the message.
Hours passed and now it was evening, and Ai was being bored, she was not interested in anything and waiting for Cyen's message. She tried to read novel to get distracted from Cyen for a while but she couldn't, she was not even enjoying with games or streaming, she was completely down.
And the last time, she opened the message she sent and there was no reply, losing all the hopes that Cyen will ever talk to her again--
> Uh, sorry for late reply. I was actually sleeping and I guess I slept too much. Anyways, I am fine but I will not be able to attend the exams in school. And you don't worry, I have eaten and I can make, so don't worry. But, please don't come to my house for a while, I don't want that you also get the cold, so you stay safe. Thanks for worrying, I am fine.
And Ai sat on a chair with a relief that finally Cyen replied.
And Cyen smiled that Ai is worrying about him and moved to wash his face and start preparing for meals and exams.
Ai's mother arrived to Ai with a bright smile and handed something to Ai and uttered, "Your friend has send something for you."
"Which one?"
"Your classmate."
And Ai started feeling suspicious and looked at the gift and it was costly chocolate and Ai smiled...
"... Since when did you started lying to me mama?"
And her mother was surprised on hearing this.
"My friend is so sick that he can't even come to school for exams. There's no way he will send me. But I know he can gift me this, but he will not. He choses according to my flavour and this is not."
And Ai's mother was surprised that Ai and Cyen know each other so deeply?
"Let me guess... Weli has send this to show off that he can afford costly chocolate. He thinks materialistic happiness can buy me, which is false. You don't know him... His affection and friendship is enough for me to be happy. Although I like ice cream from him." And Ai laughed and kept the chocolate on the table.
And Ai's mother became sad and took the chocolate and remarked, "... You have changed a lot, Ai."
"Whatever you say, I will never accept anything from Weli or his family, that's it--"
"What that guy has given you? Does he has money? I doubt. He lives alone, nobody knows about him... But tell me one reason that why you still wants to stay with him and respect him, just one reason."
And Ai was surprised by this question but suddenly smiled and stood and stated, "A reason that I want to stay with him...? I don't have any, but if you want to feel to be thankful that he exists, so listen... He saved my life once."
And Ai's mother was shocked.
"Not in that philosophical way that I can't live without him, but he actually saved me from death one day, I will not make huge but remember... He has only saved me and is standing for me all the time, that's it."
And Ai started leaving and her mother was left stunned.
