With a sickening snap, Ken's neck was broken. His body went limp in her grasp before disintegrating into motes of light, fading from existence.
"Huh? He wasn't human?" Lavana muttered, raising an eyebrow. "Well, whatever—"
Before she could finish her sentence, she instinctively tilted her head as a blade sliced past her neck, missing by mere inches. She turned, only to be met with a glistening fist slamming into her chest, sending her crashing into the ground below.
"We can't hold back anymore," Roman declared, his expression hardened.
