Hearing the term "Earthly Supreme," Mo Yu's heart trembled, his expression turning unprecedentedly grim.

Anyone else on the Dou Qi Continent, even figures like the clan leaders of the Hun Clan or Gu Clan, would likely be baffled by the title. However, Mo Yu alone understood the profound significance behind those words.

Earthly Supreme—this was a realm from the Great Thousand World!

"Heh, as I expected, you are truly extraordinary." The ancient, raspy voice rang out again, seemingly perceiving the change in Mo Yu's expression.

As the voice echoed once more, Mo Yu forced himself to remain calm, formulating a countermeasure while his silver eyes scrutinized his surroundings. Yet, despite his vigilance, the space around him appeared empty.

"No need to search. I am here."

Just as Mo Yu scanned his environment, a radiant green light suddenly erupted from beneath the ground. Startled, Mo Yu instinctively retreated, only to find himself frozen mid-movement by an overwhelming force that restrained him where he stood.

Immobilized, Mo Yu's expression flickered rapidly. As thoughts of escape raced through his mind, the green light before him rippled and morphed, eventually forming a phantom figure of an elderly man.

The figure, garbed in a green robe, had hair and a beard as white as snow. His wizened face bore an aura of age and wisdom, while faint glimmers of brilliance danced within his calm eyes. The mere presence of this spectral figure filled Mo Yu with an oppressive feeling that emanated from deep within his soul.

"Hmm, what a peculiar state you are in. Despite exuding the aura of an Earthly Supreme, you currently possess only Dou Huang strength. Could it be that some mishap has forced you to start anew?" The green-robed elder observed Mo Yu with a glimmer of intrigue.

Mo Yu's heart clenched at these words. He had already discerned that the figure before him was a soul entity, but to have his unique condition seen through so easily was unexpected.

Yet, the elder seemed unaware of his rebirth—an occurrence even the Great Thousand World regarded as enigmatic and elusive.

"Forgive my intrusion, Senior. I had no idea you were present," Mo Yu spoke with utmost respect, his thoughts racing as he chose his words carefully.

Though the elder's presence was but a soul remnant, the terrifying aura it exuded surpassed even Lei Ying's. Coupled with the mention of Earthly Supreme, Mo Yu suspected that this being might have been a peak-level powerhouse in his prime, perhaps one standing atop the pyramid of this lower plane!

As these thoughts formed, Mo Yu's expression grew serious. He had anticipated secrets within Yun Lan Sect but never expected them to involve such an extraordinary figure.

The phantom figure ignored Mo Yu's polite words, instead extending his hand. Instantly, the boundless green energy of this domain surged toward him like a tidal wave.

As the elder guided the energy, it visibly condensed, transforming from a gaseous state into a dense, viscous form. Gradually, it coalesced into a solid—a smooth, jade-like green sphere about the size of a human head.

Mo Yu's gaze burned with desire as he observed the sphere. The sheer energy contained within it was ten times that of the Thunder Soul energy he had absorbed from the Profound Yin Poison Demon Thunder. If he could refine it, his strength would undoubtedly leap several stars!

"This interests you, doesn't it?" The elder's voice broke Mo Yu's trance.

"In your peak state, this would be as trivial as a weed underfoot. But now, in your diminished condition, it might prove quite beneficial.

This Wind Spirit Pearl, condensed from the essence of this domain over millennia, shall be my gift to you. Consider it a token of fate," the elder offered with a faint smile.

Mo Yu's silver eyes narrowed slightly. Though intrigued by the Wind Spirit Pearl, he was wary. Gifts from strangers often concealed ulterior motives, and he was no stranger to scheming individuals. Dou Qi Continent harboring such a figure was beyond his expectations.

Sensing Mo Yu's hesitation, the elder chuckled faintly. "Rest assured, I mean you no harm. Strictly speaking, I am already dead. What remains before you is but a lingering fragment of my soul. I can't harm you even if I wished to."

Hearing the elder's frankness, Mo Yu was unsurprised. Smiling lightly, he replied, "May I ask Senior's name?"

The green-robed elder's smile carried an innate pride as he said, "I am Qing Lingsu, though some call me the Wind Emperor."

"The Wind Emperor?"

Mo Yu's expression shifted. He understood well the weight carried by such a title. This mysterious figure, hidden within the Gate of Life and Death, was clearly a Dou Di who had once shaken the continent!

No wonder he spoke of the Great Thousand World's realms so fluently; he had transcended the barriers of this lower plane and entered that vast, boundless realm.

However, Mo Yu was puzzled as to when this Wind Emperor had ascended and why a fragment of his soul lingered in the Dou Qi Continent.

"So, you were the Wind Emperor, Senior. If I may ask, why is a remnant of your soul still here after ascending to the Great Thousand World?" Mo Yu inquired cautiously, sensing no hostility from the elder.

"Enough with the formalities; we were equals in our prime. Just call me by my name," the elder waved dismissively.

Mo Yu hesitated before responding, "Then I shall address you as Senior Qing."

Though they might have been equals at their peak, the elder clearly hailed from an era long past. As Mo Yu had ascended to his realm at the mere age of thirty, calling him "Senior" seemed fitting.

The elder did not argue, but a hint of astonishment flickered in his eyes. Despite Mo Yu's youthful appearance, his soul bore a vibrancy that even in the talent-rich Great Thousand World was rarely seen in someone of such strength.

The elder's gaze deepened with interest as he said, "Indeed, I had broken through and entered the Great Thousand World. By my count, I should be the continent's second-to-last individual to attain Dou Di. The last, of course, being the legendary Tuoshe Ancient God of the Heavenly Flame Rankings."

"The second-to-last?"

Mo Yu was taken aback. He hadn't expected the Wind Emperor to hold such a unique position in the continent's history. Then again, the spotlight always shone brightest on the first or the last; the second was often overlooked.

As the elder continued recounting his story, his tone grew wistful. "Though the Great Thousand World held richer energy and resources, its competition was fierce. Even as a Dou Di, I was merely an Earthly Supreme there—a ruler of a region, yes, but far from the apex…"

"In a battle over an ancient relic, I was ambushed by two Earthly Supreme enemies working together, which led to my severe injuries and eventual death," the spectral figure explained solemnly.

Mo Yu raised an eyebrow and asked, "Then, senior Qing, your current state is…?"

"I've already mentioned it—I am long dead. What you see now is merely a remnant of my soul," the illusory figure shook his head and continued in a soft tone, "It is only thanks to the Gate of Life and Death that I still retain even this wisp of my soul."

The figure paused before explaining further, "The Gate of Life and Death is a strange artifact I came across by chance in the Great Thousand World. While it cannot reverse life and death, it can ensure my soul's survival. That is why you are able to see me now."

Hearing this, Mo Yu nodded slightly, his doubts mostly resolved. Although he had not entered the Great Thousand World himself, he could imagine the fierce competition there. While a Dou Di might be invincible in a lower plane, they could hardly claim to be supreme in the Great Thousand World.

"Then, senior Qing, what is your relationship with the Yun Lan Sect?" Mo Yu asked his final question, the last of his doubts lingering.

If the figure had a close relationship with the Yun Lan Sect, Mo Yu would have to remain on guard. After all, he had forcibly disbanded the Yun Lan Sect, and it was possible that this "Wind Emperor" already knew and had set a trap for him.

Sensing the subtle shift in the atmosphere, the old man in the green robe, who called himself the Wind Emperor, chuckled lightly and waved his hand dismissively. "I understand your concerns. Rest assured, I have little connection with the Yun Lan Sect, even if you were the one who left it in its current state of emptiness."

As if worried that Mo Yu might not believe him, the spectral figure elaborated, "After my soul was preserved by the Gate of Life and Death, I returned to the Dou Qi Continent. However, my strength was a shadow of its former self. Without the artifact's protection, even a Dou Huang could have ended me.

"During this time, I encountered a wind-element expert named Yun Jingtian and helped him establish the Yun Lan Sect in the Central Plains.

Thanks to the wind-element energy I stored within the Gate of Life and Death, successive leaders of the Yun Lan Sect gained considerable strength after undergoing trials within it, allowing the sect to gain a foothold in the Central Plains.

"However, apart from the first sect master, Yun Jingtian, none of the subsequent leaders knew of my existence. Over the centuries, I secretly monitored each generation's successors, hoping to find a prodigy capable of breaking through to Dou Di."

The old man sighed and continued, "Unfortunately, several centuries ago, the Yun Lan Sect was driven out of the Central Plains. From then on, the sect declined further, and even its successors' talents became mediocre. The girl from three years ago was already the most promising among them in nearly a hundred years."

Mo Yu finally relaxed. It seemed the Wind Emperor's connection to the Yun Lan Sect was merely superficial, with most members unaware of his existence.

Realizing something, Mo Yu suddenly asked, "Senior Qing, your goal of nurturing a Dou Di… could it be for…?"

"Ha! You've guessed it," the spectral figure smiled faintly before sighing. "Although I perished, it is not impossible for me to be revived. During that fateful battle, I fought two Earthly Supremes alone and fell, but my physical body remained intact. Before my death, I hid it in a secret location within the Great Thousand World.

"If I could return there, I could use a forbidden method to revive myself, though it would come at a great cost to my cultivation. Still, it would allow me to walk the world once more.

"However, in my current state, breaking through space to return to the Great Thousand World is an impossible dream. Hence, I came up with the idea of nurturing a Dou Di."

The spectral figure shook his head in frustration. "But creating a Dou Di is an almost insurmountable task. Even in the Great Thousand World, Earthly Supremes are not so easily cultivated. Over the centuries, I've done little but exhaust the energy within the Gate of Life and Death."

Suddenly, the spectral figure's gaze fixed intently on Mo Yu, its intent unmistakable.

Startled, Mo Yu hesitated before speculating, "Senior Qing… are you pinning your hopes on me?"

"Ha, you are perceptive," the green-robed old man chuckled, stroking his beard. "Rather than nurturing a Dou Di from scratch, why not place my hopes on an existing Earthly Supreme?

"Though I do not know the circumstances that caused you to fall to this lower plane and drop to the Dou Huang realm, I am certain you possess a means to regain your former glory."

Mo Yu neither confirmed nor denied this. "With my current strength as a Dou Huang, it's too early to discuss such things."

The Wind Emperor's assumption that Mo Yu came from a higher plane was left unchallenged. After all, Mo Yu had indeed once been only a step away from shattering space and ascending to the Great Thousand World.

The old man, undeterred by Mo Yu's caution, smiled knowingly and shifted the conversation. "As a former Earthly Supreme, you must have realized the secret of why the Dou Qi Continent can no longer produce Dou Di experts."

Hearing this, Mo Yu's expression darkened, his silver eyes locking onto the spectral figure. "Senior Qing, what do you mean by this?"

The Wind Emperor smiled confidently. "If you agree to my proposal, I can offer that secret as part of our cooperation."

With a flick of his finger, the endless storm-filled world around them began to churn and shift. A vortex coalesced in midair, forming a dazzling seed about the size of a fist. Wind swirls danced around its surface, emanating an extraordinary aura.

"This is the Emperor's Origin Essence!"
