After mastering the Demonic Phoenix Bone Wings, Mo Yu, in a cheerful mood, didn't rush to leave immediately. Instead, he took out ten claws and fangs of the Heavenly Demon Phoenix.
Gazing at the ten razor-sharp, cyan-red spikes suspended before him, exuding a chilling glow, Mo Yu's silver eyes narrowed slightly. He then summoned the Vermilion Burning Sky Thunder.
With his soul power recently breaking through, Mo Yu decided to forge the first seventh-grade weapon since his rebirth!
Three days later, at the Yuan Manor's main hall.
The meeting hall, typically bustling with activity, was now filled with all the top leaders of the Yuan Manor. Moreover, seated at the center was a black-robed elder—none other than Su Qian, the Grand Elder of the Inner Academy.
Present were some of the most renowned figures in the Black-Corner Region. Their mere presence could instill fear within a radius of hundreds of miles.
However, regardless of their power and prestige in the outside world, they now held their breath, their gazes fixed on the silver-eyed youth seated above.
"Heh, Grand Elder, I must apologize for troubling you to make this trip personally," Mo Yu said with a light chuckle, breaking the silence in the hall as he looked toward Su Qian.
"It's no trouble. The Inner Academy has been quiet lately," Su Qian replied, his heart filled with emotion as he gazed at the radiant Mo Yu above.
He couldn't help but recall how, when Mo Yu first joined the academy, he was just a low-level Dou Ling student. Yet, in a few short years, Mo Yu had not only established the Black-Corner Region's number one faction, Yuan Manor, but had even defeated the infamous Old Ground Demon Ghost.
Even though Su Qian had encountered countless geniuses in the Jia Nan Academy, none were as extraordinary and monstrous as Mo Yu.
After a moment of reflection, Su Qian spoke softly, "You didn't summon me just to inform me of your impending departure from the Black-Corner Region, did you?"
Hearing this, Mo Yu was momentarily startled before nodding with a smile. "The Grand Elder is correct. I'll be leaving the Black-Corner Region in a few days."
His words caused an uproar in the hall.
Xiao Li, Gu He, Elder Yin Gu, and other high-ranking members of Yuan Manor were all stunned. This was the first they'd heard of this news.
Yuan Manor, created single-handedly by Mo Yu, was his soul's work. The announcement of his departure naturally came as a shock.
However, Su Qian, understanding the reasoning, nodded and sighed. "You are the most gifted individual I've ever seen. A small place like the Black-Corner Region is indeed too limited for someone like you.
"Moreover, your lineage… only Central Plains is fitting for you."
Su Qian's mention of Mo Yu's lineage referred, of course, to his ties to the Lei Clan.
Mo Yu, however, shook his head indifferently. His journey to Central Plains was not to return to the Lei Clan but to pursue even greater strength.
Without explaining further, Mo Yu stood up, poured a cup of fragrant tea, and handed it to Su Qian with both hands, smiling.
"After I leave, I hope the Grand Elder can take care of Yuan Manor for me."
Taking the tea, Su Qian chuckled bitterly. "You're always giving me hard tasks. Yuan Manor's influence now rivals that of the academy.
"If Yuan Manor encounters a foe it can't handle, what use would this old bag of bones be?"
Mo Yu chuckled. "You're too modest, Grand Elder. The academy must have hidden experts, or it couldn't have stood tall on the continent for centuries."
"Haha, you see through everything. Don't worry, I'll look after Yuan Manor. Go and make your mark in Central Plains," Su Qian replied with a faint smile after sipping the tea.
"Thank you, Grand Elder," Mo Yu said with a sigh of relief.
Although Jia Nan Academy seemed like an ordinary first-rate faction, it secretly housed the two elders, Bai and Qian, who were on the cusp of reaching Dou Zun.
These two near-Dou Zun powerhouses would be formidable even in Central Plains, comparable to those of the Four Pavilions. With the academy's protection, Mo Yu felt reassured as he prepared to leave.
"Cousin Mo Yu, you're leaving the Black-Corner Region. What will happen to Yuan Manor?" Xiao Li asked, unable to hold back.
Mo Yu turned, smiling as he addressed the concerned leaders of Yuan Manor. "Rest assured, I'm only heading to Central Plains for training. I won't abandon Yuan Manor."
Hearing his promise, everyone sighed in relief.
"After I leave, external affairs will be managed by Zi Huo, and internal matters will be overseen by you, Cousin Xiao Li. Yuan Manor, occupying this treasure of a land in the Black-Corner Region, has limitless potential.
"In the near future, Yuan Manor might even relocate to Central Plains. By then, Yuan Manor will surely secure a place there!"
"What? Relocate to Central Plains?"
Mo Yu's words caused another stir.
Central Plains, the continent's heart and a gathering place for countless experts, was a daunting challenge. Even factions like the Yun Lan Sect and Mu Lan Valley, first-rate in the Northwest Continent, were merely ordinary there.
Although Yuan Manor dominated the Black-Corner Region, relocating to Central Plains would bring immense challenges and resistance.
Despite their concerns, the calmness in Mo Yu's silver eyes reassured everyone.
"Don't worry, Manor Lord. I'll work with Hall Master Zi Huo to strengthen Yuan Manor," Xiao Li said confidently.
Zi Huo, standing faithfully beside Mo Yu, remained silent, his crimson eyes unwaveringly fixed on Mo Yu, as if no one else existed in his world.
Seeing this, the leaders of Yuan Manor understood their master's intentions. They stood and chorused, "We wish the Manor Lord a smooth journey!"
"Young Master Mo Yu, I should follow you to Central Plains," Qing Lin suddenly interjected, gripping his arm.
"But I received a letter from Sister Lu Man recently. The head of the Heavenly Serpent Mansion is on his last legs. If I return, I could inherit the position."
Hearing this, Mo Yu was slightly surprised. The mansion's insistence on the Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils bloodline was clear from this offer.
"What do you think?" Mo Yu asked.
Qing Lin shook her head softly. "I only wish to stay by your side and care for you,Young Master. That's my greatest desire. The Heavenly Serpent Mansion has nothing to do with me anymore.
"But I know you're destined for great things. So, I'll return and take charge of the Heavenly Serpent Mansion. When Yuan Manor moves to Central Plains, the mansion and I will support you."
Mo Yu felt a warmth in his heart. Even Little Doctor Immortal viewed the loyal and occasionally mischievous Qing Lin in a new light.
Sighing softly, Mo Yu gently stroked her silky hair. "That's not necessary…"
But before he could finish, Qing Lin's face turned resolute. "Young Master, I've already decided. I lack Sister Xiao Yixian's strength. Following you to Central Plains would only hold you back.
"Instead, I'll return to the Heavenly Serpent Mansion to grow stronger and wield its influence. When Yuan Manor and the mansion merge, we'll strengthen our position swiftly."
Hearing her determination, Mo Yu could only smile bitterly and nod. "Very well, as you wish."
Mo Yu knew her potential was immense. Staying by his side would indeed be a waste. Her resolve to grow independently earned his silent respect.
Perhaps, when they meet again, Qing Lin would bring him a great surprise.
"Thank you, young master," Qing Lin said sweetly with a smile upon hearing Mo Yu's agreement.
"There's no need for thanks between us." Mo Yu gently tapped Qing Lin's delicate nose and then, as if remembering something, pointed to Zi Huo, who stood nearby.
"When you return to the Heavenly Serpent Mansion, I'll have Zi Huo accompany you. He'll stay by your side until you've securely taken control of the Heavenly Serpent Mansion. Only then will he leave."
Qing Lin was momentarily stunned upon hearing this, but after pondering for a while, she nodded softly.
She naturally understood Mo Yu's arrangement.
There was no guarantee that the Heavenly Serpent Mansion's invitation for her return wasn't a trap. If the upper echelons of the mansion had indeed concocted some scheme, Zi Huo's strength would be more than sufficient to ensure her safe departure.
In this, Mo Yu had absolute confidence.
After all, even a year ago, Zi Huo could already slay powerhouses at the peak of the Dou Huang level. Over the past year, his strength had only grown further.
In Mo Yu's eyes, even some lower-tier Dou Zong might not be a match for Zi Huo now.
Having settled Qing Lin's matters, Mo Yu smiled faintly. After a slight hesitation, he retrieved a red scroll from his Beast Ring.
Rubbing the red scroll in his hand for a moment, Mo Yu then handed it to Xiao Li, speaking softly, "After I leave, please have someone deliver this red scroll to the Jia Ma Empire. Ensure it is handed directly to my cousin, Xiao Yan.
"This is a Dou Technique, and I believe cousin Xiao Yan will like it."
The red scroll, of course, was the Flame Manipulation Art Mo Yu had acquired from the cave of Demon Flame Valley. This was a mid-level Di-Class Dou Technique capable of fusing hundreds of Beast Flames to create a Transformative Flame, whose power closely rivaled that of an Heavenly Flame.
However, for someone like Mo Yu, who specialized in thunder, this technique was of no use to him. Rather than leaving it idle, he thought it better to gift it as a favor to Xiao Yan.
Taking the red scroll from Mo Yu's hand, Xiao Li, though unaware of its exact function, nodded solemnly.
After making all the necessary arrangements, Mo Yu waved everyone away. Once they had left, he and Zi Huo moved to a quiet courtyard within the Yuan Manor.
Seated on a stone chair amidst the tranquil courtyard, Mo Yu gazed at the towering figure of Zi Huo beside him and said, "Zi Huo, I'm entrusting Yuan Manor to you in the future."
"Rest assured, boss. Zi Huo will not let you down!" Zi Huo thumped his chest, the sound ringing out like clanging steel, as he responded in his deep, resonant voice.
Hearing this, Mo Yu nodded reassuringly. Then, with a swipe of his finger on the Beast Ring, a cyan-and-red pair of gauntlets and a jade bottle appeared on the stone table beside him.
Picking up the gauntlets, Mo Yu handed them to Zi Huo. "Try these on."
Without hesitation, Zi Huo donned the gauntlets. Instantly, a ferocious and intimidating aura burst forth from his body.
Stretching out his hands, he observed ten cyan-and-red bone claws extending from his fingertips. The claws were adorned with fine, sharp barbs, resembling the talons of a Vermilion Bird, radiating a deadly menace.
"These are called the Demon Phoenix Gauntlets. I just finished crafting them a few days ago. As promised, this is your weapon," Mo Yu said with a smile.
With Zi Huo's current strength, paired with this seventh-grade weapon refined from the talons of the Heavenly Demon Phoenix, even lower-level Dou Zong would find themselves in grave danger against him.
"Thank you, boss!"
Receiving the Demon Phoenix Gauntlets, Zi Huo was thrilled, unable to resist throwing a few powerful punches with them. He then turned to Mo Yu and expressed his gratitude.
"No need to thank me. Here's some cyan-red blood as well—it'll be immensely beneficial for your cultivation." Saying this, Mo Yu tossed the jade bottle on the table to Zi Huo.
Taking the bottle, Zi Huo curiously opened it. Immediately, a surge of wild energy surged up, rushing into his body through his nostrils.
Sensing this energy, not only was Zi Huo unafraid, but he even appeared excited. Activating the Abyssal Bloodline within him, he quickly refined the energy.
As the wild energy was absorbed, his already massive physique grew slightly larger, and his aura became even more ferocious and violent.
"Boss, what kind of treasure is this? It's incredible! Just one breath of it made my physical strength improve significantly," Zi Huo exclaimed, scratching his head and giving Mo Yu a foolishly happy grin.
"As a magical beast in human form, the stronger your physical body, the stronger your overall power. If you refine everything in that jade bottle, you might even break through to the Dou Zong level.
"However, such a treasure should be reserved for your own cultivation, boss," Zi Huo added sincerely.
Hearing this, Mo Yu raised an eyebrow.
When he first obtained the cyan-red blood and realized its potential to enhance physical strength, he had guessed it would be invaluable for Zi Huo. However, he hadn't expected it to help Zi Huo reach the Dou Zong level.
But upon reflection, it made sense. After all, this was the life essence of a near-eighth-grade Heavenly Demon Phoenix. For Zi Huo, such a breakthrough wasn't unimaginable.
Still, hearing Zi Huo's offer to return the treasure, Mo Yu chuckled lightly. "This was meant for you. No need for formalities. Besides, once you reach the Dou Zong level, I'll feel even more secure leaving Yuan Manor under your care."
With Zi Huo's strength, once he reached Dou Zong, even someone like the Old Ground Demon Ghost wouldn't pose a threat to Yuan Manor.
Hearing this, Zi Huo carefully stored the jade bottle in his storage ring. He then pounded his bronze-colored chest and made repeated assurances to guard Yuan Manor well.
Seeing this, Mo Yu smiled faintly. After a moment of thought, he hesitated briefly before a strand of ancient, primordial thunder, radiating a profound and wild power, appeared in his palm.
Looking at the strand of yellowish lightning exuding an archaic aura, Mo Yu turned to the towering and ferocious Zi Huo before him and solemnly said:
"Zi Huo, today I entrust you with the Primordial Ancestral Thunder!"
