Clarissa hated Alice for no reason. And even though it seemed unreasonable, she wanted to keep hating her.
But... how was she supposed to keep hating someone who lived such a rough life while growing up?
And even then, she still smiled as though the world was filled with roses.
"Alice," Clarissa sniffed. "Who... Who are you?"
"What do you mean?" Alice asked, tilting her head and smiling. "I'm Alice."
Clarissa bit the insides of her mouth, trying to stop crying but the tears kept rolling down.
Alice got a little uncomfortable. What to do when such a proud girl starts crying?
She didn't mean to break her. She just wished she would understand that the world was a cruel place to live in and the peace on the surface was never how it seemed.
"Oh, hold on." Alice said and took off her glasses. "You got tears on them."
As she cleaned the glasses, Clarissa looked up, but Alice was already putting it back on, so she did not see her face without the glasses.
