Chapter 358 - The Reversal of Hunter and Prey - The Arcane Emperor's Trap

In the New World's Demi-human Continent, Rosen arrived quietly through data transmission.

Years ago, he had killed the Hunting True God's avatar that mastered the Hunter's Law, but the true form had escaped back to the Demi-human Continent instead of being captured by the World Government. Here it lurked, consumed by thoughts of destroying the World Government - though in its current state, such ambitions far exceeded its capabilities.

Losing its True God-level avatar and having its Divine Kingdom destroyed by the World Government had reduced the Hunting True God to an ordinary deity.

At its most desperate moment, it had encountered one of the New World's hidden Forbidden True Gods.

Yet even with this powerful backer, the Hunting True God gained little benefit.

As merely an ordinary True God now, it received scant attention from the Forbidden True God.

Deep beneath the Demi-human Continent, the Hunting True God labored in mining supernatural resources from the depths.

Rebuilding its Divine Kingdom required astronomical resources - so much so that over the years, even its divine avatar had been reduced to a Sequence 1 miner.

When Rosen approached within dozens of miles, the Hunting True God suddenly stopped digging, sensing danger.

It immediately attempted to flee upward - the cramped underground space severely disadvantaged its Hunter Sequence in combat.

Though uncertain of the threat's nature, it trusted its primal instincts.

Yet before it could emerge, Rosen used Primordial Law to simulate the Earth Law of the Xirang Spirit Pearl, then employed Limited Omniscience and Omnipotence to mimic the pearl's Earth Traversal ability, intercepting the Hunting True God.

He avoided using the actual Xirang Spirit Pearl because its Earth Law belonged to the old world system.

But Primordial Law transcended such distinctions - even old Laws could be simulated as new ones.

Surrounded by earth with no room to draw its bow, the Hunting True God attempted to deploy its Hunting Domain to create combat space through Law manipulation.

Before the domain could fully form, Rosen crushed it using Primordial Law's simulation of World Law.

World Law countered all other Laws, meaning Rosen inherently countered every True God.

This didn't equate to effortlessly dominating them though - simulating different Laws through Primordial Law carried varying costs. Simulating complete World Law meant usurping the Ancient God's authority, demanding tremendous expenditure.

Against multiple True Gods simultaneously, simulating World Law would be impractical.

But against a single Hunting True God? Overkill was justified.

Denied its domain, the Hunting True God failed to notice Rosen approaching from behind.

Rosen used Primordial Sequence to emulate the Diamond Monk Sequence, unleashing hand-to-hand combat skills capable of shredding True Gods.

In close quarters, he dismantled all the Hunting True God's defenses within moments, effortlessly tearing off its head.

Trapped underground with less than 30% of its combat effectiveness, the Hunting True God was easily subdued.

No one could be truly omniscient - every supernatural sequence had strengths and weaknesses.

The Hunter Sequence excelled at ranged combat. While its melee capabilities weren't weak, they paled compared to specialized close-quarters sequences like the Diamond Monk. Even True Gods had to play to their strengths.

Rosen imprisoned the Hunting True God in the Void Divine Prison, which he had upgraded to Sequence 1 level.

Just as he prepared to leave, his Canvas of Precognition suddenly displayed a warning through Fate's foresight.

While he had been hunting the Hunting True God, someone else had been using it as bait.

Had his capture taken slightly longer, the warning might have come too late.

Though Primordial Law could simulate any Law, the cost increased with simultaneous simulations.

However, Laws he originally mastered could be simulated without additional expenditure.

Both Time and Fate Laws remained permanently active simulations.

The fact that his precognitive warnings, doubly reinforced by these two Laws, only activated now indicated his adversary was at least a Great True God—one who had specifically prepared countermeasures against precognition.

Suddenly, countless hidden magical arrays materialized across thousands of miles, above and below ground.

These intricate patterns interwove to form a colossal arcane formation surpassing True God-level power.

At its central node, the Arcane Emperor appeared without warning.

Seven other True Gods manifested simultaneously at secondary nodes, jointly maintaining the formation's operation.

Rosen immediately noticed:

All surrounding Laws had been dispelled

The Main God Network was forcibly expelled

Seven layers of Great True God-level sealing barriers enclosed the area

Even one-way data transmission was blocked

The book floating beside the Arcane Emperor was undoubtedly a Great True God-level miracle treasure.

Rosen hadn't anticipated this ambush coming from the Arcane Emperor.

While he'd orchestrated the fall of the Sky Eagle and Sea Serpent civilizations, that hardly warranted such elaborate retaliation—especially since his Apocalyptic Demon Eye's periodic surveillance had shown no signs of the Arcane Emperor targeting him.

Only one explanation remained: the Arcane Emperor could detect the Apocalyptic Demon Eye's gaze.

"Do you truly believe you've seen through us Great True Gods?" the Arcane Emperor mocked.

Preparing to counterattack, Rosen paused at this question. He recognized the stalling tactic—the Emperor was activating additional arcane arrays—but his curiosity won out.

How had the Arcane Emperor detected the eye's surveillance?

He'd spied on numerous Great True Gods in the old world without issue.

"I confirmed you possessed Apocalypse's eye," the Arcane Emperor drawled. "Apocalypse was an Immortal Divine Demon surpassing Forbidden Divine Demons—among the mightiest of that rank. His eyes could perceive every corner of the world. Under his gaze, all lived in constant terror..."

Through this monologue, Rosen learned the eye's true origins.

At its peak, Apocalypse couldn't claim omnipotence, but omniscience was no exaggeration.

As the strongest of the Main God Civilization, even the Main God Computer was his creation.

Yet after surviving the Tenth Civilization Cataclysm to become an Immortal Divine Demon, Apocalypse hadn't departed with his civilization. Instead, he'd remained to overthrow the World Will and slumbering Ancient God.

The exact details remained unclear—other civilizations' surviving Great True Gods had hidden in the old world, avoiding the deadly conflict between Apocalypse and the World Will. They only knew he'd ultimately failed.

Though the Arcane Emperor didn't reveal his methods, Rosen deduced:

Either he possesses Apocalypse's other eye... or relics Apocalypse left behind.

Having apparently stalled enough, the Arcane Emperor abruptly ceased speaking.

The floating book unleashed countless arcane rings that flashed across space to strike Rosen.

Each ring carried a thirteenth-tier Law Disintegration effect.

Rosen's defenses—layered divine aura forged from his 164-point Life Origin that could withstand True God assaults—crumbled instantly. Yet when the rings struck his body, they only left minor wounds.

"A World-Manifesting Ancient God Sequence..." The Arcane Emperor's expression darkened.

Only Great True Gods of the Ancient God Sequence could manifest as worlds, then reconstitute them as bodies. But such resistance to Law Disintegration suggested something rarer—a half-step Immortal Divine Demon.

For a Forbidden Divine Demon to ascend to Immortality required elevating their Divine Kingdom into an independent world.

This process demanded plundering immeasurable resources from the main world, incurring countless karmic debts.

Thus, whenever a new world was born, it would inevitably face a lethal counterattack from the World Will.

Those who survived would become Immortal God-Demons like the Abyss Lords. Those who failed, like the Dragon Realm and Paradise, would fall completely, leaving behind only their independent worlds as remnants—Half-Step Immortal God-Demons who had perished.

Yet Rosen was merely Sequence 0—how could he possibly possess a defense comparable to a Half-Step Immortal God-Demon?

Rosen had only wanted to test his limits, but he hadn't expected them to be this overwhelmingly strong.

However, in the next moment, he realized something—he had still underestimated the Arcane Emperor.

The Arcane Emperor's Divine Kingdom had begun its descent from the depths of the Astral Void, crashing down like a falling star, tearing through space as it arrived.

The entire Divine Kingdom was covered in countless arcane sigils, shimmering like a multicolored glass sphere, within which Great True God-level Arcane Towers stood tall.

The Arcane Emperor was far from an ordinary Great True God—he had likely reached the very pinnacle of that level.

Earlier, he hadn't summoned his Divine Kingdom, nor had he unleashed the power of his Arcane Towers.

This was likely due to his bad reputation among other Great True Gods. He feared the World Will's scrutiny and didn't want to provoke the other Great True Gods into turning against him.

However, Rosen's terrifying defensive capabilities had made the Arcane Emperor wary, to the point where he was now willing to go all out to eliminate him.

"I won't give you a chance to grow any further."

As the Arcane Emperor spoke, he activated the full power of both his Arcane Divine Kingdom and Wisdom Arcane Tower.

An endless torrent of arcane energy surged down from his Divine Kingdom, crashing toward Rosen like a celestial flood.

Before Rosen was even hit, the Afrian Continent had already begun to crumble under the sheer force of the arcane aftershocks.

The land shattered into pieces, filled with the dying wails of countless Afrians.

The only two True Gods of the Afrian race barely managed to flee with a fraction of their people, escaping for their lives.

At the same time, every Great True God and deity in the New World turned their attention toward the Afrian Continent.

"I'm done playing with you."

In an instant, Rosen simulated the Arcane Laws using his Origin Laws, simulated Arcane Law Disintegration using his Origin Sequence, and simulated the Arcane Emperor's Arcane Essence using his Origin Essence.

At that moment, he became almost indistinguishable from the Arcane Emperor himself.

Thus, before the sealing arrays could activate, Rosen had already broken free.

With a mere blink, he vanished via data transmission.

The arcane torrent could no longer be halted, and in mere seconds, the Afrian Continent was completely obliterated.

Even the ocean spanning tens of billions of miles evaporated, and the planetary crust—hundreds of thousands of miles thick—was pierced through entirely.

But no matter how devastating the attack was, if it failed to hit Rosen, it meant nothing.

The Arcane Emperor, now seething with rage, retreated to his Divine Kingdom and, without hesitation, ascended back into the Astral Void, vanishing from sight.

Although this battle ended with Rosen's departure, every Great True God in the Main World who had witnessed the final moments of the fight now understood one thing—

Rosen, despite being merely Sequence 0, was an absolute monster, no weaker than them.

Thus, every Great True God began to view Rosen with deep wariness.

Meanwhile, Rosen had already returned to his Secret Archive, familiarizing himself with his newly simulated Arcane Laws.

This law was already incredibly powerful—there were fewer than ten laws in the New World stronger than it.

The Arcane Laws were the Arcane Emperor's original creation—they should have been his exclusive domain.

But the Arcane Emperor had deliberately allowed the Arcane Laws to merge with the New World, freely sharing their power with countless Arcanists, integrating them into the Arcane Weave, and ultimately subjecting the Arcane Laws to the control of the World Will.

If the Ancient Gods ever awakened, the other Great True Gods could at least escape with their exclusive laws.

But the Arcane Emperor?

He wouldn't even have the chance to run.

Even if he fled, without the Arcane Laws, the Arcane Emperor would be nothing more than a helpless pig waiting for slaughter.

Yet despite this, he had still chosen to do it.

The benefits he gained in exchange were astronomical—the continuous expansion of both Arcanists and the Arcane Weave, driving the Arcane Laws to grow ever stronger.

The Arcane Emperor was likely one of the Forbidden True Gods who had sworn allegiance to the World Will.

Thus, the essence of a Forbidden True God was integrating one's self-created laws into the New World.

If Rosen hadn't endured the Arcane Emperor's Law Disintegration, if he hadn't simulated the Arcane Emperor's power, then today—

Even if he had survived, he would have been severely wounded, possibly pushed into a desperate situation, with no choice but to resort to his "Tenfold Annihilation."

"I really can't afford to underestimate these Great True Gods."

Rosen sighed in contemplation.

The Eye of Apocalypse granted him an enormous intelligence advantage.

However, some Great True Gods likely already knew that he possessed one of Apocalypse's Eyes.

They knew he was observing them.

Thus, they had deliberately fed him false information, luring him into a trap without his knowledge.

Rosen gazed at the Arcane Law Disintegration simulated by his Origin Sequence, attempting to fully analyze this arcane technique but found himself unable to do so. He could only simulate its surface, unable to delve into its core essence.

However, he had more or less grasped the purpose of Law Disintegration.

This was an arcane technique that treated laws as bombs, unleashing devastating destruction by obliterating the laws themselves. A technique specifically designed to shatter different laws—this was likely the reason the Arcane True God dared to betray the World Will.

Rosen had originally planned to rebuild the Radiant Kingdom, but now it seemed he had to reconsider.

If he attracted the siege of multiple Great True Gods, he wasn't too worried about his own survival. But the Radiant Kingdom would undoubtedly end up like the Afrian Continent—completely wiped out. Yet, if he didn't rebuild the Radiant Kingdom in the New World, it would be difficult to grow its civilization and destiny.

With no better solution for now, Rosen chose to vent all his frustration on the God of the Hunt.

Using his Origin Sequence, he directly simulated the power of an Abyss Execution Demon, subjecting the God of the Hunt to thousands of cruel tortures. Only when the God of the Hunt was on the verge of complete collapse did Rosen switch to simulating the Mind Healer Sequence, using a Sequence 0-level mental link to peer into his memories—gradually unraveling the deepest secret the God of the Hunt had been hiding.

The God of the Hunt had once discovered a ruin that contained a long-lost fragment of ancient history. Through studying this history, he had stumbled upon a terrifying secret.

Based on Rosen's current understanding, after the Old World was destroyed, the New World was born. Over time, the New World developed countless civilizations, with the oldest known civilization being the Cosmic Civilization. Before the Cosmic Civilization, history referred to the era as the Primal Age.

The Primal Age was essentially the dawn of intelligent life in the New World. At that time, civilization as a concept didn't even exist, or at most, if any civilizations had emerged, they were so insignificant that they never produced any Great True Gods—meaning they weren't qualified to be remembered in history.

The Cosmic Civilization may not have been the first, but it was the first civilization to produce Great True Gods.

However, through the God of the Hunt's memories, Rosen discovered that this understanding was flawed.

From the ruins he had found, the God of the Hunt had learned that before the Cosmic Civilization, an even more powerful civilization had already existed. A civilization so powerful that it had ultimately forced the Ancient Gods to awaken, leading to its complete annihilation—its entire existence erased from history.

Yet, even with the Ancient Gods personally intervening, that civilization had still managed to secretly preserve some of its ruins. And its final inheritance was hidden within the Twilight Battlefield.

The God of the Hunt had spared no cost to kill the God of Hunters, and his true, deepest goal was the Twilight Battlefield.

A miniature Twilight Battlefield materialized in Rosen's hand. This thing… is likely even more extraordinary than I thought.

However, to fully control the Twilight Battlefield, he would need to gather three Miracle Artifacts: Sequence 3: Beast King Colosseum, Sequence 2: Arena of Myriad Races, and Sequence 1: Gods' Arena. Only when these three artifacts were completely fused into the Twilight Battlefield would it transcend from a Miracle Artifact into a Miracle Construct.

It was clear that his next priority had to be collecting these Miracle Artifacts.

The Beast King Colosseum had been sold by him years ago. It later fell into the hands of the God of the Hunt, who placed it in his Divine Kingdom. When the World Government attacked and destroyed that Divine Kingdom, the Beast King Colosseum was seized by them.

The Gods' Arena was currently held by various non-human deities within the Pantheon.

The Arena of Myriad Races had always been under the control of the World Government.

Rosen decided to go after the Beast King Colosseum first. Since it was only a Sequence 3 Miracle Artifact, it wasn't particularly valued. When the God of the Hunt's Divine Kingdom fell, it ended up in the hands of a minor deity responsible for cleaning up the battlefield.

Just as he was about to set out, Rosen reconsidered.

This might not be the best approach.

He was worried about alerting the enemy.

If anyone else knew about the existence of that mysterious civilization, just like the God of the Hunt did, then there was a high possibility that the three components of the Twilight Battlefield were all bait. If he took even one piece, it would immediately raise suspicion that he possessed the Twilight Battlefield itself.

Thus, he had only two choices—

Either do nothing at all, or take all three artifacts in a single strike.
