Chapter 377 - Assassinating a Great True God

In the Mysterious Study Room, Rosen flipped through the Secretive Brass Book, examining the illustrations on its pages.

These were all portraits of the Great True Gods. Ordinary paper couldn't permanently hold their images, but the Secretive Brass Book could carry them with ease. His divine pen could also directly engrave portraits onto its brass pages.

Beyond the portraits, the Secretive Brass Book recorded all the information that the Omniscient Magic Eye had glimpsed about the Great True Gods.

Rosen carefully analyzed each one. Other than the Universal Sacred Emperor, none of the Great True Gods would be easy to deal with.

However, years ago, the Universal Sacred Emperor had nearly died in the Dark Sun Forbidden Zone. In the years since, he had consumed nearly all his accumulated resources to recover from his injuries. Using the Ten-Directions Annihilation against him would be a losing bargain.

Even if it weren't, Rosen had no intention of using the Ten-Directions Annihilation to kill the Universal Sacred Emperor.

The Omniscient Magic Eye's observations made one thing clear—the Universal Sacred Emperor was already a Dark Sun Progeny.

Ever since gaining control of the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye, Rosen had only been unable to enslave the Dark Sun Apostles within the Dark Sun Forbidden Zone. Any Dark Sun Minions below them, he could control at will. Yet when he returned to the Dragon-Tiger Celestial Dynasty and attempted it, he found that the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye couldn't even manipulate the weakest Dark Sun Progeny.

That meant the Dark Sun Progeny harbored some deep secret—one even the Omniscient Magic Eye couldn't perceive.

The Ten-Directions Annihilation reduced worlds to lower dimensions, erasing enemies completely. Everything an enemy carried would become part of the collapsed world's foundation when it rose back to higher dimensions. If the Universal Sacred Emperor was fused with his divine body-turned-world, who knew what kind of hidden dangers that would bring?

"After all this deliberation, you're the most suitable target..."

After hours of careful selection, Rosen finally chose the Ten-Directions Annihilation's sacrificial target.

Seven Field...

He had mastered the Law of Synthesis to become a True God and created the Law of Life to ascend as a Great True God.

Here, "life" didn't refer to biology, but to any living entity.

Seven was a master of Life Alchemy and Matter Alchemy. If the Law of Alchemy hadn't already been claimed by another Great True God, Seven could have easily taken control of it. Still, by relying on the Law of Synthesis, he remained a Great True God-level Alchemist of Life.

The Eternal Continent was Seven's crowning achievement in Bio-Alchemical creation.

It was obvious—Seven was one of the Great True Gods backing the World Government.

Above the Eternal Continent, numerous divine kingdoms had taken the form of floating stars.

One particular star, though composed entirely of rock, had facial features on its surface. Even in its slumber, its simple breathing stirred spatial storms that radiated outward, keeping other divine kingdoms at a wary distance.

Through the Dimensional Gate, Rosen discreetly transported the Mysterious Study Room near this divine kingdom.

Under the gaze of the Omniscient Magic Eye, the star, which resembled a living rock, was revealed to be crafted from Immortal Bone Rock—bones of a Skeletal Clan Great True God that had absorbed the Eternal Source over countless eons, fossilizing into an immortal material.

These bones were not only terrifyingly durable but also possessed an extraordinary self-repairing ability.

On top of that, Seven had further enhanced the Immortal Bone Rock through Bio-Alchemical synthesis, strengthening its properties to an extreme degree. In the final step, he granted it life. The result: a divine kingdom-forged entity that, in essence, was an alchemical creature at the level of a Great True God.

Yet what made Seven strong also made him vulnerable—he had invested too many resources into this alchemical creation.

As a result, he had neglected his own body, making him the weakest among the Great True Gods.

Because of this, Seven never left the body of his alchemical divine kingdom.

Seven's hunger for resources was immense, which was why the World Government allocated the greatest share to him.

Of course, Seven didn't take without giving back. In return, he provided advanced technologies or high-quality alchemical creatures he personally created.

If he had taken without offering anything in return, the other resource-hungry Great True Gods wouldn't have tolerated it.

Using the Omniscient Magic Eye, Rosen quickly identified the official responsible for delivering resources to Seven.

By infiltrating the data transfer system, Rosen silently descended, stealing a rare resource Seven desperately needed from the storage warehouse. Then, using the Eternal Metamorphosis ability of his Dark Sun Slime, he reshaped his true body into that very resource.

All that remained was to wait for the official to transport this batch of supplies into Seven's divine kingdom.

A few days later, the deity responsible for escorting the resources carefully delivered them to Seven's divine kingdom.

After Seven's subordinate gods inspected and accepted the resources, they transported everything to Seven's bio-alchemy laboratory.

Since these were urgently needed materials, Seven used them all on the same day.

Rosen didn't give Seven any chance to react. Disguised as a material through Eternal Shapeshifting, his true body instantly activated the Ancient God Sequence's innate ability—Metamorphosis into All Things—causing his divine body to evolve into a divine domain infused with the Dragon Realm.

Seven sensed that something was wrong and tried to escape, but he had no time to avoid the divine domain's coverage.

Because Rosen controlled the Law of Time and Space, the acceleration of time made his Metamorphosis into All Things far too fast.

Moreover, he had previously drawn a three-dimensional painting of Seven's divine kingdom. Using this painting, he directly activated Painting Realm Descent, bringing his divine domain into this plane from a higher dimension. As a result, within mere breaths, the divine domain overlapped with Seven's divine kingdom on a temporal-spatial level.

"Tenfold Oblivion..."

Rosen's cold voice reached Seven's ears.

In an instant, the divine domain began collapsing in dimensions.

All of Seven's subordinate gods and followers, along with every alchemical creature in his divine kingdom—except for the divine kingdom itself—were dragged into the dimensional collapse alongside the divine domain. No matter how many methods Seven tried, he couldn't escape.

After all, the strength of this divine domain now surpassed that of the Dragon Realm.

It was equivalent to using an Immortal World to bury Seven alongside it. There was no way he could break free from Tenfold Oblivion.

As the divine domain collapsed into zero dimensions, Seven's true body was instantly annihilated by Tenfold Oblivion.

Without hesitation, Rosen used the Root Sequence to simulate the Actor Sequence, then enhanced the Actor Sequence through Eternal Evolution. He immediately began impersonating Seven—both at the bloodline level and divine essence level, making himself indistinguishable from the real Seven.

The divine kingdom, which had just awakened and transformed into an alchemical creature, instinctively accepted Rosen's control over its immortal will.

An alchemist would never allow an alchemical creation's highest control authority to escape their grasp.

No matter how unreasonable an order was, once given, it had to be obeyed.

Seven would never have imagined that someone could impersonate his immortal will and deceive his alchemical creatures.

Following Rosen's command, the divine kingdom's alchemical creature began shrinking and entered hibernation, eventually condensing into a fist-sized stone sphere that fell into Rosen's hand.

Rosen stored away his divine body, sealed the zero-dimensional singularity left by Tenfold Oblivion, and retreated into the Secret Tome Chamber. He then began contacting Seven's divine avatars.

As an ancient Great True God, Seven had two divine avatars at the True God level.

The true body and its avatars didn't share all sensations and memories at all times.

Unless they were close together, each acted independently.

The reason was simple—splitting one's mind across multiple bodies was not a comfortable experience.

The avatars only needed to follow the main body's orders, diligently serving as tools to handle laborious tasks.

Only when the main body perished would the avatars take over and serve as vessels for resurrection.

Under normal circumstances, when the main body died, the avatars would receive a final message sent through divine essence. If they were too far away to receive it, they would still sense an inexplicable feeling that the main body had fallen.

However, this perception could sometimes be inaccurate. If the main body and avatars were in separate worlds, it was possible for the connection to be completely severed, leading the avatars to mistakenly believe the main body had perished. In such cases, the avatars could ascend into new independent lifeforms, escaping the main body's control.

At this moment, Seven's two True God-level avatars were not far from the main body, so they immediately sensed that something had happened to him.

However, they had yet to realize the main body had fallen, as it was difficult to believe that a Great True God's main body could die without even sending a final message.

A moment later, Sevin's two true god incarnations received an order from the main body.

The main body had been attacked and now required one incarnation to head to the divine kingdom for protection.

The location was not on the Eternal Continent but in a spirit realm deep within the ocean.

Sevin's two true god incarnations did not suspect anything. They concealed their movements and set off from different locations toward the target spirit realm.

They had no idea that the one issuing the main body's order was not the main body at all.

Shortly after they left the Eternal Continent, the Yinglong Incarnation in the sky above the continent withdrew the projection of the Mind Canvas.

Rosen's attack on Sevin had already taken place for some time, yet there was no commotion whatsoever.

The reason was that, at the moment Rosen's main body struck and instantly killed Sevin, the Yinglong Incarnation had used the Mind Canvas to project a pre-drawn disguise outside Sevin's divine kingdom. Everything happening inside was completely masked by a void-projected green screen camouflage.

Now that the Mind Canvas projection was withdrawn, others would, at most, assume that Sevin had left for some reason.

No one would even think that Sevin had been assassinated inside the heart of the World Government's stronghold.

In the depths of the ocean, within a spirit realm belonging to the sea tribe, Sevin's two true god incarnations approached one after another.

Before long, the first incarnation arrived and, the moment it stepped into the spirit realm, it had already fallen into Rosen's True Realm of the Ancient Gods.

Using Eternal Mimicry, he directly disguised the True Realm of the Ancient Gods as a spirit realm.

Thus, Sevin's true god incarnation detected no anomalies and stepped right in.

Rosen did not deal with this incarnation himself but instead handed it over to the little dragon girl.

With the Miracle Life Lamp God's assistance, the little dragon girl was more than capable of capturing Sevin's incarnation.

Soon, Sevin's second true god incarnation arrived, but it did not enter immediately. Instead, it lingered outside the spirit realm.

"Something feels off…"

Sevin scrutinized the entrance to the deep-sea spirit realm with suspicion.

The purpose of an incarnation was to take risks on behalf of the main body, so they were always prepared for annihilation.

They could enter places the main body dared not tread without hesitation.

However, incarnations would not rush to their deaths blindly. No matter the circumstances, they would always leave behind clues. If an incarnation encountered danger and could not notify the main body in time, these habitually placed clues would serve as a warning signal.

Near the entrance of the spirit realm, Sevin found a mark left casually by the other incarnation.

This mark indicated that the incarnation had already entered the spirit realm.

It was normal for the main body to require an incarnation for protection after being attacked.

However, it was absolutely impossible for the main body to summon both true god incarnations for protection. Normally, one incarnation would go to guard the main body, while the other would immediately hide in an absolutely safe location. If the main body fell into a death trap, having one incarnation preserved would provide a chance for revival.

Now that both incarnations had been summoned, this was something the main body would never do.

If they were wiped out together, there would be no chance for resurrection.

Sevin immediately realized that the one issuing orders to him and the other incarnation was most likely not the main body.

Sensing danger, Sevin turned to leave, but he was already surrounded.

To the east stood the Death God Incarnation. To the south, the Bronze Dragon Incarnation. To the west, the Yinglong Incarnation. And to the north, the Scourge Apostle.

Though there were only four gods, one was a Forbidden Sequence while the other three were Immortal Sequences—more than enough to annihilate any true god.

The four superimposed law domains were unified by the Root Laws, forming a composite domain that completely sealed off space and time.

Sevin's main body was a biological alchemist, but his two true god incarnations did not belong to the same sequence.

He immediately activated his Heroic Halo, and in an instant, a law domain unfolded. Within the domain, an army composed entirely of Sequence 1 alchemical creatures emerged, their combined power converging upon Sevin through the Heroic Halo.

Then, Sevin vanished. In his place stood a towering metallic statue, hundreds of meters tall.

It was a statue of a Behemoth from the Orc race—the divine effigy of the fallen True God of War, Behemoth.

This divine effigy had been given life through biological alchemy, modified into a war god-like combat mecha.

Coupled with the power gathered from the Hero Sequence's alchemical army, the pressure emanating from the War Behemoth now vaguely exceeded that of a true god. As it continued to unleash its war cries, countless war machines sprouted across its body, launching an assault on the Scourge Apostle.

Rosen's eyelid twitched slightly. War Cries were a spiritual intimidation skill of the beast race.

Typically, they lasted only a few seconds and had long cooldowns. However, this War Behemoth, constructed from a living divine effigy, was continuously roaring without pause.

And it wasn't just an ordinary howl.

The sustained War Cry was forming a battle hymn—an actual warrior's song.

Then, countless spikes sprouted from its body, crackling with lightning, clearly serving more than just defensive purposes.

Then, sharp claws extended from its hands, and its legs transformed into void-element thrusters.

As the claws slashed toward the Scourge Apostle, even though the latter had already hidden in the shadows, the claws still tore through both the shadow and the ocean. By the time the Scourge Apostle emerged from a nearby seawater shadow, his upper body was nearly sliced in half.

It was evident that the Scourge Apostle was no match for Sevin in a direct confrontation.

Sevin did not linger in battle; instead, he charged toward the opening to escape. However, the Bronze Dragon Incarnation had already teleported ahead, blocking his path.

The dragon horns intertwined to form a dial, and as the hands of the clock reversed, Sevin, caught within the law domain, began to uncontrollably retreat.

Like a ghost, the Death God Incarnation instantly closed in from behind. In his hand, the Soul Reaper dagger activated its law characteristic—Soul Liberation—turning intangible as it pierced through the War Behemoth, aiming for Sevin's hidden incarnation within.

Frozen by a temporal stasis, the War Behemoth could no longer provide Sevin with any assistance.

A moment later, a reverse pyramid flashed into Sevin's hand, and his entire body inverted through space, vanishing in an instant.

Not only did the Death God Incarnation's assassination lose its target, but even the Yinglong Incarnation's charged fatal strike had no time to be released.

Under Rosen's Omniscient Magic Eye, he discovered that Sevin's incarnation had already escaped back to the Eternal Continent.

That inverted triangle just now had resonated with his Omniscient Magic Eye.

It was clear that the object was likely an Apocalypse Relic in Sevin's possession.

Rosen had originally assumed that such a relic would be in Sevin's main body's hands, but unexpectedly, it was with his incarnation.

It seemed that the assassination attempt on Sevin could no longer be concealed—his conflict with the World Government had now reached an irreconcilable state.

At this moment, within the True Realm of the Ancient Gods, the little dragon girl had successfully captured Sevin's other incarnation alive.

The Miracle Life Lamp God's lamp curse, equivalent to the Goddess of Magic's resurrection ability, had cast a Tier 13 spell that tightly bound Sevin's incarnation.

Working in tandem with the little dragon girl's draconic incantations, countless dragon-language spells engulfed Sevin's incarnation.

However, the finishing blow came from the little dragon girl's Fantasy Armament. Through it, she had strengthened the Miracle Painting's Two-Dimensional Ash Bees to Sequence 0.

At Sequence 0, all of the Two-Dimensional Ash Bees' miracle characteristics had been elevated to their peak.

True Armor Penetration, True Damage, True Pain Sensation, True Accuracy, and True Stinger—and with the rank increase, new pinnacle miracle characteristics emerged: True Venom, True Mirage, and Mutual Destruction.

The Two-Dimensional Ash Bees traversed different dimensions, and with a single strike, they brought Sevin's incarnation to the brink of death.

Even among miracle lifeforms, the damage output of the Two-Dimensional Ash Bees should not have been this terrifying.

The key lay in the Mutual Destruction characteristic—an ability that transformed everything into raw destructive power at the cost of self-sacrifice.

With the Miracle Painting's ability to regenerate, the Mutual Destruction trait allowed the Two-Dimensional Ash Bees to unleash an attack powerful enough to severely wound a true god.

Thus, this battle had gone even smoother than Rosen's side.

Since the assassination was already exposed, Rosen had no reason to conceal it any longer.

Using the miracle skills Forbidden Curse and Mind Canvas, he began continuously painting Forbidden Curse artworks targeting Sevin.

Originally, the Forbidden Curse already possessed the Cycle of Life and Death miracle characteristic, making it a curse that, like a bone-deep plague, could only be sealed but never removed. Now, Rosen further enhanced it using the Eternal Root's Dark Sun, Compatibility, Mimicry, Plunder, and Evolution.

First, the Dark Sun's corruption served as the outermost layer of the curse, forcing Sevin to exhaust his efforts sealing it away.

Then, Mimicry and Compatibility allowed the Forbidden Curse to seamlessly integrate into Sevin's body, making it almost undetectable.

Unbeknownst to Sevin, the Forbidden Curse had already infiltrated the very core of his divinity.

As time passed, the Forbidden Curse would continue to evolve and grow stronger due to the Eternal Evolution Root.

If Sevin focused on sealing the curse, he could at least extend his lifespan for a while.

However, if he dared to resurrect using an incarnation, or if he tried to restore his divine essence from illusion to reality, the Plunder power within the Forbidden Curse would strike him fatally at the most critical moment.

Under the gaze of Rosen's Omniscient Magic Eye, Sevin's incarnation, after escaping, immediately contacted several other great true gods.

With their assistance, Sevin began performing a resurrection ritual using his incarnation.

Just as Sevin was about to succeed, the Forbidden Curse, which had already spread throughout his being, erupted at the most pivotal moment of the ritual.

His originally illusory divine essence was instantly drained of all divine power by the curse.

Then, the Death Curse, which had evolved to its utmost extreme, annihilated Sevin's divine essence in an instant.
