Chapter 29 - XXIX : Night Break

After what felt like an eternity of keeping Axel focused, I finally had our plan outlined in front of us. The words stared back at me from my notes, crisp and structured unlike my meeting partner, who was currently balancing a pen on his nose.

"Axel."

The pen fell as he straightened up, feigning innocence. "Yes, boss?"

I exhaled. "Let's go over the project one more time before I let you run off to get your cookies."

He groaned dramatically. "Cora, we've been at this for—" He checked his watch. "Okay, fine, only forty-five minutes, but it feels like a lifetime."

I ignored him and tapped my notes. "Here's the problem: Employees are overworked. Productivity is down. People are exhausted. Morale is low. If this keeps up, we'll start seeing higher turnover rates, which will hurt the company even more."

Axel nodded, now actually paying attention. "Yeah, I've noticed. Half the office looks like zombies by lunchtime."

"Exactly. So, our solution? An AI-assisted scheduling system."
