Chapter 232 - Chapter 232: Reunion

Clatter, clatter, clatter~

The hurried footsteps echoed through the corridor. Leading the way was Hinata Hikari, followed by Qing Ming and the other three, as they wound their way through the underground space, getting closer to Bofeng Mizuno's location.

Suddenly, Hinata Hikari stopped in her tracks.

Seeing this, Qing Ming immediately asked, "What's wrong?"

However, before she could respond, the ground trembled violently. Qing Ming concentrated his chakra in his feet to steady himself.

The sound of cracking filled the air as fissures appeared in the walls and ceiling, causing the entire underground space to sway.

This was no ordinary tremor from their previous battles; it felt more like an earthquake, affecting every corner of the area.

In fact, it was almost that severe.

When the shaking subsided, Hinata Hikari spoke rapidly, "Someone above used Earth Release to tear open the ground, and now four enemy forces are coming through the cracks into this underground space."

As she scanned ahead, she continued, "One of these enemy groups is right in our path."

Qing Ming furrowed his brow and asked, "Can we go around them?"

Hinata Hikari looked around and shook her head. "No way. There are Iwa Ninja in other areas as well; the enemy seems to have a rough idea of our position."

"Is that so?"

After a moment of contemplation, Qing Ming decided, "Then let's not worry about it; you continue leading us as planned. We'll handle the enemies."

"Understood."

Hinata Hikari responded, then continued moving forward. Without hesitation, Qing Ming and the others followed closely behind.

Meanwhile, the Yamanaka Clan ninja was also sensing Bofeng Mizuno's location. Once he detected it, he could use Mind Transfer Technique to establish contact. Unfortunately, the terrain was too complex, and he couldn't safely perform the technique, so they had to proceed step by step.

······

Time passed second by second.

Soon, Qing Ming and the others encountered the enemy group that Hinata Hikari had mentioned.

Upon seeing them, Qing Ming wasted no time, forming hand seals and executing his technique—Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique!

In the narrow corridor, Qing Ming opened his mouth wide, unleashing a fire dragon that roared towards the Iwa Ninja ahead.

"Quick! Use Water Release!"

"No way, we're out of time!"

"Run!"

"Ah~~~"

The sounds of anguished screams reverberated through the corridor.

Qing Ming acted too quickly; the two sides had just met, and the Iwa Ninja had no chance to react, resulting in heavy casualties.

But that wasn't all. Qing Ming swiftly pulled out a kunai from his ninja tool pouch, wrapped in explosive tags.

With his Sharingan's tomoe spinning rapidly, he targeted several surviving Iwa Ninja, swiftly tossing the kunai with both hands.

"Ah~ Ah~ Ah~"

Several cries of despair rang out.

Then came the series of explosions from the tags.

Once the noise died down, the front turned eerily silent. In the confined space, the power of the explosive tags was magnified many times over.

The kunai Qing Ming had thrown managed to encircle all visible Iwa Ninja.

In that scenario, it was impossible for anyone to survive intact.

Well, to say that might be too absolute.

But at the very least, it was beyond the capability of these low-ranking ninjas.

"Move!"

After dispatching those enemies, Qing Ming uttered the word flatly.

Upon hearing this, Hinata Hikari swallowed hard, nodded, and immediately raced forward, followed closely by Qing Ming and the others.

The enemies Qing Ming had just eliminated were not all of those that Hinata Hikari had seen; they were merely one of the search teams.

Afterward, they encountered several more enemy groups, all dealt with ruthlessly by Qing Ming and the two Nara and Yamanaka clan ninjas.

Even so, the enemy had roughly locked onto their position and was continuously closing in on them.

However, this no longer mattered, as they had successfully contacted Bofeng Mizuno, and the two groups were about to reunite.

A few seconds later, after turning a corner, Qing Ming and the other three spotted Bofeng Mizuno hurrying toward them. After the battle, his clothing remained pristine, just as it had been when he first arrived.

This indicated that Kuroki Itaru and the Iwa Ninja had posed no threat to him.

The reason he had managed to stall for so long was likely due to his familiarity with the terrain, allowing him to evade for a considerable time.

In fact, that was precisely the case. Although Kuroki Itaru had initially appeared righteous, being the first to attack Bofeng Mizuno, that was merely a tactic to rally his troops.

When a real fight broke out, he quickly directed the nearby Iwa Ninja to fight and retreat, gradually distancing themselves from the battlefield.

Unfortunately, Bofeng Mizuno was focused on them, and his strength was overwhelming; even when they worked together, they couldn't land a blow, nor could they escape.

Ultimately, they perished in an unvisited corner.

After eliminating those enemies, Bofeng Mizuno began to retrace his steps, preparing to execute the final phase of the mission: getting everyone out of here.

Initially, he had refrained from distributing special kunai inscribed with the Flying Thunder God Technique to the others, uncertain of who would survive.

This wasn't due to a reluctance to part with those kunai or their scarcity; in fact, he could create such kunai with ease.

His reasons were solely to maintain secrecy.

The Flying Thunder God Technique was not only his core battle strategy but also an absolute forbidden technique recorded in the sealing scroll, and he could not risk any leaks.

Thus, unless absolutely necessary, he would not readily hand out related items to anyone.

Even after every encounter, he would recover those specially made kunai one by one.

While he didn't believe anyone could decipher the Flying Thunder God Technique, he also recognized that the foundations of the five major ninja villages were not to be underestimated.

If they were to obtain those kunai, even if they couldn't crack the Flying Thunder God Technique, developing countermeasures would still pose a significant problem.

Therefore, for this mission, besides the initial kunai used for positioning and teleportation, he had not given any to the others.

And that kunai had already been retrieved after his teleportation.

This led to a situation where if he wanted to locate Qing Ming and the others, he would have to rely on conventional methods.

Of course, he could have left a mark on Qing Ming and the others in advance for tracking purposes.

But such an act, making their lives dependent on him, was something Qing Ming would never allow, no matter how much trust he had in him.

So, Bofeng Mizuno didn't even bring it up.

As for covert actions…

Leaving aside the question of what to do if discovered, Bofeng Mizuno's own character dictated that he would not resort to such underhanded tactics.

Fortunately, things weren't too dire; after Bofeng Mizuno had just finished his fight and was returning, Qing Ming and the others had found him.
