Chapter 3 - First Few Years

With a full heart and happy smiles the Weasley family looked forward to the adventures ahead, knowing that Ron was now a part of their loving and lively family.

The Burrow, Ottery St. Catchpole, 1985.

Ronald Bilius Weasley, or Ron for short was a bright green-eyed five year old, bursting with energy and curiosity.

He lived in the Burrow, along with his other family members.

Ron's family, the Weasleys were a chaotic bunch and their little cottage was always abuzz with activity.

Ron's day began early, waking up in his cramped but cozy bedroom, shared with his brothers, Fred and George.

The mischievous twins, seven years old and always up to some prank, would often start their day by playing random pranks on their little brother almost on a daily basis.

All of them harmless of course. But they sure did annoy the little Weasley a lot for sure.

Downstairs, the kitchen was filled with the delicious aroma of breakfast, courtesy of Mrs. Weasley or Mum, as the children of the Weasley family called her.

"Wake up Ron, breakfast's ready !" came the voice of his mother from downstairs.

"Coming mom !" replied Ron.

He woke up from his bed, stretched a little and then neatly arranged his bed something he did not really like doing but had to.

"At least it is better than hearing her nagging" thought Ron in his own mind.

After making his bed, he went downstairs freshened up and then went to the dining table.

Inside the dining room his father Arthur Weasley was sitting on one side of the table, reading the 'Daily Prophet' while sipping coffee.

On his another side was another muggle news paper. His father had a huge amount of obsession with muggle things, that is why he read muggle newspapers everyday, so that he can be updated with everything that has been happening in the muggle world.

Ron's stomach growled clearly indicating how hungry it was.

He began devouring the pancakes his mother had made.

He loved the food made by his mother as it was really really delicious. So he made sure to eat a little extra every time until his stomach got full.

On the other side his mother was feeding the newest addition of the family Ginny Weasley who was also his little sister.

She was a born a year after him, making her the smallest member of the family.

She was busy telling her mother all the details about her recent playdate with Luna, the daughter of Pandora and Xenophilius Lovegoood.

Bill and Charlie had already started their schooling in Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry and were currently residing in Hogwarts itself.

Ron could not have much of a conversation with the two of them since they only came back home twice a year once during the Christmas and once during the session end.

Still they made sure to send a few letters now and then.

Percy, Fred and George were sitting on the opposite side of the table the twins eating and talking at the same time, while Percy was busy lecturing them on the importance of not talking while eating.

Which honestly fell to deaf years.

After breakfast, Ron would help with the morning chores.

From feeding the chickens to gathering eggs from the backyard everything was done by him.

Although he hated the fact that his hands sometimes would get covered in poop he still had to do it cause his mother's orders were absolute and no one in the family really had the audacity to go against her word.

Cause if someone ever did the only thing waiting for them would be a hour long lecture followed by being forced to eat broccolis something which even little Ginny could not escape from.

Afterwards he would fly around the house and play 'Quidditch' with his brothers with the help of the toy broom gifted to him by Sirius.

It was a gift he really liked. Although he missed his uncle Sirius a lot who stopped visiting at all after a while.

Whenever he tried to ask his parents about them their faces would turn dark and they would always shift the topic to something else.

He did not really knew why they acted like that whenever they head his name, but Ron kind of missed him.

'Tip!' suddenly a drop of water fell on him from the sky above. He looked upwards and saw that the sky was fully covered in clouds.

Then heavy rain came, he ran back into his home with his little broom getting wet in the process.

"Goodness Gracious!" said his mother while looking art him.

She took a towel and rubbed his head with it. She then told him to take a 'hot shower' so that he does not get cold.

After taking a shower he and his siblings huddled around the fire place.

With nothing to do and feeling bored he asked his mother to tell him some stories from her time.

"Fine then let me tell you the story of the 'Peverell Brothers'."

"No not that one" said the twins. "You have already told us about that story several times." they further added.

"Yeah tell a different one this time" Ron also chimed in with his brothers.

"Okay okay then I will tell you about how Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald."

All the children were excited to hear the story about Dumbledore who according to them was the strongest wizard of their time.

She then told them the story which every one of the siblings liked.

After she finished her story she saw that it was quite late so she decided to serve dinner to the children and Arthur who also had came back home after his duty in the ministry.

After finishing his dinner he played a little with his sister.

"Ron, Ginny it is time for bed sweeties" said Molly.

"Okay mom!" replied the two.

Ron then went back to his own room and Molly took Ginny back to their room so that they could sleep.

As he drifted of to sleep, Ron would listen to the distant sounds of his family's gentle murmurs, the creaks of the old cottage and the soft hooting of the owls outside.
