"Bird of doom?" Goten repeated, his brows furrowed.
"Yes," Champa confirmed, crossing his arms. "That's what the prophecy fish told us."
"Lord Champa, this bird is not a bird of doom," Goten said firmly. "It's a bird of time!"
"Time Bird?" Champa blinked in confusion.
"That's right. It's essential for the stability of the timeline!" Goten explained, his voice steady.
Champa scoffed. "It doesn't matter what you call it. We're destroying it today, no matter what!"
As he spoke, Champa began channeling Hakai energy into his hands, aiming at the Shishi Bird.
Suddenly, the Time Bird leapt from Pan's arms, transforming into a massive golden bird mid-air. With a powerful flap of its wings, it sent a gust of wind that dissipated the Hakai energy in an instant.
The Gods of Destruction froze, their eyes widening in disbelief.
"How is that possible?" Champa muttered. "Hakai isn't ordinary energy. Nothing can nullify it like that!"
The bird's display only heightened their resolve.
"Beerus!" Champa called out, turning to his counterpart. "This is your universe. What are you going to do about this bird?"
Beerus regarded Goten with a serious expression. Despite his camaraderie with Goku and his friends, the stability of the universe took precedence.
"Goten," Beerus said solemnly, "step aside. Don't make me force you."
"No," Goten replied, standing firm.
Beerus sighed, raising his right arm. "Then don't blame me for what happens next."
"This is a matter for Universe 7," Beerus added, glancing at the other Gods of Destruction. "None of you interfere."
Champa and the others nodded, stepping back to watch the proceedings.
Beerus darted forward, his speed blurring him into motion. Goten roared, transforming into Super Saiyan 5 in an instant. The two collided mid-air, their clash sending shockwaves across the battlefield.
"Goten!" Time Patrol Trunks shouted, transforming into a Super Saiyan and rushing to join the fight.
Trunks swung his sword at Beerus with all his strength, but Beerus caught the blade between his index finger and thumb, stopping it effortlessly.
"What?!" Trunks gasped, stunned by Beerus' ease.
Beerus flicked his fingers, sending Trunks stumbling back. Before Beerus could press his advantage, Goten appeared behind him, moving faster than Beerus anticipated.
Bang! Goten drove his knee into Beerus' back, sending the God of Destruction hurtling forward. Beerus recovered mid-air, turning to face Goten with a scowl.
"Impressive," Beerus admitted, purple Ki erupting around him like flames.
Goten responded in kind, his silver-white aura flaring as the two prepared to clash again.
Before they could resume their battle, two figures materialized nearby. They were Goku and Vegeta from the Time Patrol, their distinctive uniforms setting them apart from their main timeline counterparts.
"Goku?" Beerus asked, mistaking Xeno Goku for the Goku he knew.
"Lord Beerus," Xeno Goku said, bowing slightly. "Please look to the sky."
Champa, curious, turned his gaze upward. "What's that?"
High above, massive tree roots had appeared, extending through the atmosphere and into space. The roots pulsed with energy, drawing power from the Earth and beyond.
"These roots belong to the Cosmic Tree," Xeno Goku explained. "They're not just on Earth—they're everywhere in the universe, draining energy."
The Gods of Destruction immediately turned to their angels, instructing them to investigate their respective universes.
A moment later, Vados confirmed Champa's fears. "Lord Champa, our universe is also overrun with these roots."
"Then we need to return at once!" Champa barked, preparing to leave.
The other Gods of Destruction and their angels followed suit, leaving Beerus and Whis to address the situation in Universe 7.
With the other deities gone, Beerus turned his attention back to the Cosmic Tree. He raised his hand, summoning a massive Hakai sphere and launching it at the nearest root.
Boom! The explosion shook the skies, and thick smoke enveloped the area.
When the smoke cleared, the root was not only intact but seemed to have grown thicker.
"It's no use," Xeno Goku said, his tone grim. "To stop the roots, we need to find the Cosmic Tree itself and destroy it."
"Goten," Beerus called out. "I'm entrusting this mission to you."
"Me?" Goten asked, surprised.
"Yes," Beerus replied. "Goku and the others are still on my planet, so you're the only one who can handle this."
"Understood, Lord Beerus," Goten said, turning to Xeno Goku. "Dad, do you know where the Cosmic Tree is?"
"I'm not sure," Xeno Goku admitted. "We'll need the Time Bird to guide us."
The Shishi Bird flapped its wings, opening a black portal in the air before flying through it.
Goten and the Time Patrol followed, emerging in a mountainous region filled with jagged peaks and ominous clouds.
Above them, a black-cloaked figure floated, smirking.
"Fu!" Xeno Goku growled, clenching his fists.
Fu descended slowly, his confidence radiating. "Ah, Goku," he said smoothly. "I see you've brought friends."
"What's your plan this time?" Xeno Goku demanded.
"Plan?" Fu chuckled. "It's simple. I'm creating a universe of my own."
"You won't succeed," Xeno Goku declared, stepping forward as his aura flared.
"Let's see about that," Fu replied, his smirk widening as the battle loomed.
