Dimitri was pissed; there was no other word for it. Walking away from the house, from Hattie when they were in a strange place, with danger all around, was nothing short of painful.
The only saving grace was that he knew the house would protect her when he wasn't there. But even that was cold consolation. No one could protect the Devil better than Wrath could.
"Then you and I need to get on the same page," sneered Wrath inside Dimitri's head. "You still haven't offered up our soul yet. You still don't understand me yet."
"Neither 'ave you," sneered Dimitri. It wasn't just the human who could offer up their soul; the demon could do it just as well.
"You are a blade forged in fire," said Wrath, his presence pushing through Dimitri's resistance. Looking through the eyes of the Sin, the jungle around them appeared to be completely different.
