The Mind Badge increases the power of all Psychic-type moves for the Pokémon in your team by 10%, and it upgrades the move Dive to Secret Dive.

Calm Mind's cooldown doesn't matter—Gardevoir already knows it. The other Psychic Pokémon, Wobbuffet, cannot learn it. Unless you have special Calm Mind skills.

Chris saved his game.

Two classic texts immediately caught his attention: one containing the experiences of Tate and Liza on raising Psychic Pokémon, and the other titled Psychic Training Secrets.

Psychic Training Secrets? Now, that's intriguing. Chris had always been fascinated by telekinesis, telepathy, and Hypnosis—especially the last one.

He opened the Psychic Training Secrets first.

The first line read: "If you are not born with Psychic talent, you can close this book."

Chris scoffed. What if I was born with Psychic talent? In reality, I'd already have sought out famous masters as teachers!

Fortunately, the text mentioned that ordinary people could practice Psychic techniques. Even if they start late, they still have a chance to master it. Chris skimmed through the rest and found it was heavily dependent on being born with Psychic abilities, a talent both Tate and Liza naturally possessed.

Disappointed, Chris tossed it to the bottom of his pile of Pokémon Breeder tips.

Next, he opened Tate and Liza's Breeder experiences.

Since the duo only used Solrock and Lunatone in double battles, their Breeder notes focused exclusively on these Pokémon. The Solrock section detailed training methods for Morning Sun, Light Screen, and Wonder Room, while the Lunatone section covered Moonblast, Moonlight, and Magic Room.

Chris found the skills intriguing, though Morning Sun seemed too difficult to teach. None of the Pokémon in his current lineup could learn it—except maybe Venusaur, but that was still a long shot.

Wonder Room and Magic Room were particularly fascinating. The former swaps a Pokémon's physical defense with its special defense, making it highly effective against Pokémon like Steelix, which boasts incredible physical defense but lacks special defense. Magic Room, on the other hand, temporarily nullifies the effects of items held by Pokémon. Chris immediately thought of using it to counter Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution.

Moonblast was already in Gardevoir's arsenal, but Chris noted some methods to refine it further. Moonlight, however, was still a move Gardevoir needed to learn. Given its association with lunar power, Chris was eager to try teaching it.

Beyond these basics, there was an advanced chapter on doubles strategies using Solrock and Lunatone, offering insights into effective tag-team techniques.

Chris skimmed through the content and set it aside.

With the Gym challenge completed, Chris knew his next move—fly to the Kalos region from Mossdeep City.

Just as he exited the Mossdeep Gym, Chris ran into a familiar face: Steven.

"Chris," Steven said, "I just watched your fantastic battle against the two Gym Leaders. You're showing incredible potential as a Trainer. Come to my house in Mossdeep City—I have something for you!"

Steven's house in Mossdeep? Chris thought. Of course, the Champion would have homes in multiple cities, with his main residence near his company in Rustboro City. Who's to say he doesn't own homes elsewhere?

Chris eagerly followed Steven, knowing that the "God of Wealth" was about to bestow another treasure.

At Steven's house, the Champion handed Chris a Technical Machine. "This is Dive," Steven said. "Once your Pokémon masters this move, they'll be able to take you underwater without any trouble. Consider it my reward for watching your battle."

"Thanks, Steven!" Chris grinned as he took the Dive TM. Thanks to the Mind Badge, the move had been upgraded to Secret Dive.

Secret Dive: Power 100. Underwater movement speed increased, resistance to water pressure enhanced, and capable of diving deeper into the ocean.

Although the upgrade only raised the power by 20 points, the true value of Secret Dive lay in its enhanced field utility. Chris was quite satisfied. After all, in standard battles, Dive moves weren't commonly used—most Water-type attacks still relied on the strengthened Secret Surf as a primary offensive option.

Chris decided to teach Gyarados and Greninja the move. Once they mastered it, he turned to Steven again. However, the conversation ran dry—Steven's sole purpose seemed to be gifting the Dive TM.

As Chris stepped out of Steven's house, he spoke to a little boy at the door. To Chris's astonishment, the boy handed him a King's Rock.

Coercion King's Rock: When a Pokémon holding this item uses any attack that doesn't induce the flinch, there is a 30% chance to cause the target to flinch. Additionally, it intimidates Pokémon of lower levels upon entering battle.

"The real God of Wealth is you!" Chris exclaimed, staring in disbelief at the boy. It was his first time receiving a secret treasure from an NPC!

Was Steven's God of Wealth aura contagious? Or perhaps living in the same upscale neighborhood as Steven meant even children were secretly rich?

Chris weighed the Coercion King's Rock in his hand. It was no ordinary King's Rock, which only offered a 10% flinch chance and had limited utility. This secret treasure tripled the odds to 30%! Combined with multi-hit moves like Water Shuriken, its potential was game-changing.

"Three times out of ten attacks trigger Flinching," Chris mused. "If one in five Water Shurikens activates it, that's a solid win."

Greninja, who lacked a Secret treasure-level item, was the perfect candidate for the King's Rock. Without hesitation, Chris assigned it to Greninja.

Next, Chris headed to Mossdeep City's Space Center, a prominent rocket launch site near the Airport. The center held memories of Maxie's nefarious plans to steal rocket fuel for an explosion at Mt. Chimney.

"Seriously?" Chris thought. "At this point, Maxie has Groudon under his control. Shouldn't he be too busy manipulating Groudon to be chasing rocket fuel?"

Inside the Space Center, a man named Gene greeted him.

Gene: "Are you here to take a rocket into space? Or perhaps a shuttle to another region?"

Chris froze. "A rocket to space? Is that… a thing? Does the Pokémon world have a universe region map?"

He was both startled and intrigued. Was this tied to catching Deoxys? Saving his progress, Chris decided to test the option.

Gene: "Alright! That will be 30 billion Pokédollars. We'll launch you into space immediately!"

Chris: "???"
