Chapter 313 - Peace of Mind

While everyone felt helpless, the meeting continued, but Sengoku asked, "Do you need Garp to apologize to you?"

"No, it's a waste of time." Masa was too lazy to face Garp, the barking dog, who could only bark without biting. Even if Garp was the grandfather of the savior of this world, he didn't care, especially when he had beaten Luffy and... oops, let's keep the rest a secret.

'Dragon...'

Masa thought of the organization created by Garp's son and thought it was quite a good organization for the future, but he wouldn't tell anyone since he knew his thoughts were pretty dirty.

"What are you going to do with him?"

Noticing the sharp gaze from Sengoku, Masa glanced at Sengoku lazily and said, "He is about to die anyway; why should I worry about an elderly person?"

"....."

Did you curse me, too?

Sengoku and Tsuru frowned, but neither of them said anything and just sighed inwardly. Getting older. No matter how strong one was, it was impossible for them to fight against it, and sooner or later, they and Garp would die, leaving everything behind. This was also the reason why the two of them quickly stopped Garp since if they tried to push Masa further, while they could handle him now, what if they passed away?

Were their descendants good enough to handle Masa?

Shudder!

As they thought that Masa might do something to their descendants, they were frightened.

While all of them felt nervous due to Masa's powerful power, his means of revenge, toying and doing vile things to his enemy, was so frightening that they didn't dare to bet. Only those who were bachelors weren't worried as they had no family, but they also weren't stupid enough to provoke Masa, especially when he had shown his power, and he also had his own support on the Marines.

"So, let's start the discussion."

Under Masa's words, their discussion started, but Sengoku stared at Masa for a while and asked, "What do you think of the Marines?"

"What do I think of a Marine? Do you think what I think is necessary?"

"...."

It wasn't necessary at all. Instead, the World Government, the owner of the Marines, hoped for all of the Marines to follow their words like robots!

"...you have such a nihilistic viewpoint. Do you think our role is really just to be a dog for the World Government?"

Sengoku couldn't help but frown at Masa, but Masa only shook his head and said, "I think you are the one who should take this problem seriously. This is just a job. Why do you have to think so much?"

"...."

Yes, the Marines were just a job.

Why did they have to think so much?

On this chaotic ocean, the only way for people to have a stable life was by joining the Marines!

Some people might think differently, hoping to realize their ideal or something else, but for most people, as long as they could live well, why did they have to think too much?

"...is that what you think a Marine is?"

Unexpectedly, the one who said those words wasn't Sengoku, but Kuzan, one of the admirals of the Marines.

"If so, then I don't think you are suitable to become an admiral!"

"Your opinion is just a fart in the eyes of the World Government."

Masa didn't pay much attention to Kuzan since no matter how great Kuzan was, in the end, this guy was just a worker. Under the hands of the World Government, Kuzan could do nothing.

Yet, Masa's words greatly hit Kuzan's esteem, but then again, Sakazuki huffed and said, "If you don't have justice in your heart, then I don't think we can work together, Your Majesty."

"....."

No one expected Sakazuki to talk and support Kuzan, but then again, considering Sakazuki's nature, who would kill every criminal even at the sacrifice of the Marines, they understood that if Masa had an evil thought at the Marines and would hinder the work of the Marines, then even if Sakazuki's attitude toward Masa was neutral, he would join Kuzan to take Masa down despite its difficulty.

Yet, Sengoku sighed in relief since he knew he wasn't alone in facing Masa.

Still, Kuzan aside, Masa appreciated Sakazuki since, unlike Kuzan, who was just a fanboy of Garp, Sakazuki had his own beliefs, and this belief came from his past, which was a tragedy that made him hate pirates so much.

Nevertheless—

Sighing, Masa looked at everyone and asked, "Are you all idiots?"

"..." Everyone.

"What kind of person do you think will become a pirate?"

"...." Everyone.

When no one could answer him, he said, "A poor person without any hope to change their fate, so they become a criminal by taking the rights of those people, so the question is...

"Do you think I am so poor that I have to become a pirate?"

"...." Everyone.

Why did one become a pirate?

Was it because they had no future?

It was because they had no future that they wanted to rob the future of others, ruining others and unleashing all the evil, and because of that, Masa truly hated Gold Roger, who had caused this tragedy known as the "Age of Pirates."

Luffy's adventure might make the story of One Piece fluffy and happy, but under all of that was the misery of the people of this world.

Everyone had been living in hell, but somehow, many pirates were born and ruined the lives of the commoners even further.

If hell existed, then Gold Roger should be placed in that place after his death due to his selfishness.

"What I wish to do after becoming an admiral is to give everyone peace of mind."

"...peace of mind?"

Those words made them look at Masa in confusion.

"An environment where people have no need to fear pirates, criminals, and others as they can work hard to achieve their dream, sailing on the ocean with peace, without worry of the pirates that might attack them.

"That's why I became an admiral."

Masa looked at all of them and asked, "Are you satisfied now?"

"..."

While the others were in a daze after they heard Masa's words, those who were close to Garp had a prejudice toward Masa and had a complex mood in their hearts, yet for one thing, if Masa couldn't become an admiral, then who would become one?

"Thank you for becoming the admiral. I hope to work with you to give everyone on the ocean that peace of mind."

"I hope so, too."

Masa and Sengoku shook their heads, including Sakazuki, who also took the initiative to apologize.

"I am sorry for my previous judgment, Your Majesty. I hope that you can forgive me for my shortsightedness."

"No problem. I am pretty awkward, so I often give people the wrong impression."

But Kuzan?

Let's ignore him.

Kuzan wanted to apologize, but as he was ignored, he wondered whether he should kowtow like Sengoku before since he knew well if Sengoku retired, then... he couldn't help but glance at Sakazuki, who showed a gentle expression, which made him complex, thinking that he was so petty. Yet, somehow, his pride and the thought of Garp... made him stop his action.

"Then, can we finish this meeting here? I have to meet the Five Elders now."

"O-Oh."

No one stopped Masa, and as he left, he was greeted by the CP0.

"Your Majesty."

"Let's go."

"As you wish."

"Carina."

"Yes."

As the door emerged, everyone was in a daze, but all of them entered and came close to the location of heaven, the living place of the Celestial Dragon—Mary Geoise.
