Chapter 367 - Chapter 367: Please Invite Shin to Dinner

After finishing his conversation with Hoss, He Kui left the radar room.

It had been ten days, and Shin should have had an answer by now.

He Kui glanced at the time and boarded the shuttlecraft.

However, unlike usual, today he was accompanied not by Meyrin but by Sulei.

"Why do you have so much free time?" He Kui asked with a smile.

"I'm just heading back!" Sulei shot him a proud glare and continued to ask, "Why did you wake up so early today?"

"The moon's mine was attacked."

He Kui didn't hide the truth, but considering there were two others following behind, he spoke with more caution.

"What!? Is there a problem?" Sulei exclaimed, grabbing He Kui's hand.

The soft sensation and her slightly widened beautiful eyes from surprise made He Kui feel a surge of playful intent.

Thinking this, He Kui didn't hold back and kissed the girl's cherry lips.

Soft and sweet.

It was still the familiar taste, but behind it seemed to linger a faint scent of milk.

"Lei Lei, still drinking milk, huh?" He Kui teased.

Of course, this was met with Sulei's fierce retaliation.

The girl stepped directly on He Kui's foot with her round-toed leather shoe, but it didn't hurt.

"There's still someone behind us!" Sulei pouted, clearly referring to Lika and Iron Wall behind them.

"Do you usually do this with Meyrin here?"

"Well, does Lei Lei want to try?" He Kui whispered close to Sulei's ear, his warm breath brushing against her soft ear, causing an unusual sensation to nearly overflow in Sulei's heart.

Without needing to ask further, since He Kui was still in the mood for such things, it was highly likely that the situation on the moon was not serious.

Thinking this, Sulei let out a sigh of relief, and her resistance against He Kui's advances weakened a bit.

After all, there was reinforced glass behind them, so it should be fine, but of course, it was impossible to do anything strange on the shuttlecraft.

After a bit of deep conversation with Sulei, the two arrived at a restaurant located on the outskirts of Mayu City.

At this time, according to the agreed schedule, Shin's family also got out of the driverless car.

"Shin, Mayu, do you really want to stay here?" their father sighed and asked.

"Yeah."

"PLANT seems to be safer, and they have the ability to protect themselves."

Shin's tone was soft, but it contained a rare firmness.

Hearing this, Shin's father felt quite conflicted.

Although he had been angry after waking up from being dazed by Aegis, it was useless to say more; they were indeed at the port, and the spaceship was ready for launch.

Having come here in such a muddled way, he had seen more and had a slight change of heart about PLANT.

As the first-generation Coordinator, Shin's father had indeed settled in PLANT for a while.

However, he left PLANT during the turbulent times after the establishment of the Zodiac Alliance.

He did not agree with the ideals of the Zodiac Alliance, which is now known as ZAFT.

But as Shin said, if Orb couldn't protect them, then their choices were limited.

He had seen the tragic state of the military island after Orb was attacked through PLANT's television, and it was still vivid in his mind.

However, there were doubts behind this; why did that girl insist on bringing them up? Was it really as that little girl said, that she just happened to be kind-hearted and saved them? After all, that girl had always worn a mask; how could she know what beauty was?

While Shin's father was lost in thought, the family of four entered the restaurant.

They were soon stunned by the luxurious decor inside.

They had come today at He Kui's invitation, but they never expected it to be such a lavish restaurant.

"This really makes Director He spend a lot; he just asked you two questions and invited us to such a high-end restaurant," Shin's mother said, looking around the lobby.

"But Director He should be quite wealthy, so it's probably fine, right? Mayu, right?"

"Yeah!"

Unlike the two adults, Shin and Mayu were filled with curiosity as they looked around the environment.

However, their visit today was not just for a simple meal; if they were to stay in PLANT, it was indeed more convenient to find He Kui than Lass.

After all, that masked woman had some sort of collaboration with Lass, and although the masked woman had saved their lives, she was also the one who had dazed them.

Such methods made them a bit wary.

In contrast, He Kui seemed very approachable based on what Shin and Mayu had said.

This time, he was treating them to dinner over such a trivial matter, something unimaginable for others.

It was as if Director Erica suddenly wanted to invite them to dinner.

The group followed the well-dressed staff to the innermost and most luxurious private room.

As the automatic sliding door opened, He Kui stood up in response.

"Welcome. I didn't get a chance to greet you last time; my apologies."

He Kui appeared very polite, easily charming those present, who looked pleasantly surprised.

Hearing He Kui's words, Sulei beside him also stood up.

"Director He is so courteous."

After saying this, Shin's father found himself at a loss for words.

Nothing seemed appropriate for such a high-end occasion.

"I don't know who this is."

"Sulei, Deputy Director of the Integrated Design Bureau."

Initially thinking she was just He Kui's secretary, the four of them widened their eyes in surprise upon hearing this.

What an honor to have two directors of the design bureau at a meal.

The Integrated Design Bureau was undoubtedly a leader within PLANT.

"Hello."

Sulei's demeanor changed when facing outsiders compared to when she was with He Kui, adopting a slightly cold expression that He Kui was familiar with.

"It's fine; she's just here to enjoy the meal. Please, have a seat."

He Kui noticed the slight hesitation and unspoken words on their faces and didn't explain right away, waiting for them to sit down before continuing.

"To be honest, I believe Shin and Mayu have talent, which is why I invited you here."

"Talent?"

Shin's parents looked puzzled and anxious, but more than that, they were happy.

After all, being recognized as talented by someone of He Kui's stature was definitely something to be pleased about.

Especially as their parents, they felt a swell of pride, wanting to boast to the neighbors.

"Do you know He Kui? Yes, the genius from PLANT; he said our children have talent!"

Just thinking about the shocked expressions of their neighbors made their lips curl into smiles.

If it weren't for the situation, they would have wanted to use a wristband to record He Kui saying it again.

As for the siblings being called talented, they were equally happy but also nervous.

They wanted to discern whether He Kui's words were sincere or just polite.

Sulei, who had been quietly observing, was also a bit surprised; after all, he hadn't mentioned this before they came.

"So I want them to stay. I will ensure they receive the best training, and their future achievements will not be inferior to mine."

He Kui noticed their unusual expressions and seized the moment to speak.

His reputation was more solid than anything else, so there was no need to worry about Shin's father questioning him.

In fact, rather than questioning, at this moment, Shin's father was even considering agreeing directly.

Who wouldn't want their children to achieve great things? However, "Are you going to send them to the battlefield?"

Shin's father suppressed the joy that had crept onto his face, his expression gradually becoming serious.

"No, they will just be by my side."

"I believe you all know my achievements, so you should also know that the protection I enjoy is among the best in all of PLANT."

Although he was envious of Shin's piloting skills, he certainly couldn't openly say he wanted Shin to fight, especially since Shin was still quite immature and not ready for the battlefield.

However, keeping them by his side was definitely safer than letting them roam outside; nurturing a few more people was just a drop in the bucket for He Kui at this point.
