Chapter 391 - Chapter 391: No More Waiting

"Well, that's basically how things are."

He Kui attributed the situation to Lass and briefly explained the whole matter.

"From Mexico to Montana, and then to Midway, they really are impressive."

Although Mattias didn't know what had happened before Lass arrived in Mexico, he didn't ask further and simply nodded in acceptance of this explanation.

What He Kui said roughly matched what he had learned from the spy who had been rescued.

"Then the intelligence has already been given to you."

"The commission is considered complete; I've deducted the final payment, and I will send someone to assist those at sea."

Mattias smiled.

"How much?"

"Well, consider it a reward for rescuing my people; no need to pay."

Mattias said grandly.

As for whether the other party would pry into Aegis's identity, He Kui believed it would be impossible to find out, and Mattias was indeed trustworthy.

"Alright, what about your internal matters?"

"We'll handle it ourselves, no need to worry."

"By the way, you should come over and take Setona with you when you have time."

"Okay."

Hearing Setona's name, a smile also crept onto He Kui's face.

"Thank you for your trouble."

"Hmph."

Mattias snorted in annoyance and continued.

"Also, I'll give you a date later. If you want to meet someone, just go there."

"Alright."

It was obvious that the message Mattias was going to convey was from that princess.

Although he didn't know what the relationship between Orb and Mattias was, it seemed quite close at the moment.

Meanwhile, the group on Earth had just managed to fend off the Atlantic Federation's attack with great difficulty.

"Captain Andrew!"

"How's the battle situation?"

Andrew looked at the messenger in front of him, his previously nonchalant expression now carrying a hint of seriousness.

Aisha was also nervously watching from the side.

"We've already captured the Alaska base!"

"Is that so?"

Not only did Andrew smile, but the people in the command room also cheered upon hearing the news.

They had been grinding away here for so long, and finally breaking in was hard not to make them ecstatic.

"Alright, don't celebrate too early!"

"Our light shield fleet is stationed over there, and we need to quickly establish a defensive line in Alaska; the light shield system should be prioritized."

This technology had been around for a while, and it was no longer something only He Kui could accomplish.

Basically, as long as there were five A-rank and many B-rank personnel assisting, they could complete the construction of the fixed light shield within three days.

After arranging the personnel, Andrew noticed Dearka, who seemed to have something to say.

"Let's talk in my room."

Holding the small storage device, Andrew led Dearka into the room filled with the sweet aroma of coffee.

"Did you come here because of this?"

Andrew raised his hand, pinching between his fingers the intelligence that He Kui had sent into the base using Little Bird.

"Yes, Captain Andrew, what about it?"

"Well, after all, someone thoughtfully placed a transmitter on it; it would be hard not to notice."

Andrew shrugged and continued.

"But did he specifically ask for me to see it?"

"Yes."

"Are they from Lass?"

Andrew asked.

"Not sure, but the fighting style doesn't seem to match."

"Is that so?"

After all, Dearka had faced Aegis directly overseas from Orb.

What he said was still quite relevant.

"Yes, Aegis's previous fighting style was reckless."

"But that person seems to have a bit more caution."

What Dearka didn't say was that his feeling was that the fighting style resembled someone he had sparred with before leaving.

But how could that be?

Even if it wasn't Lass, there were many other possibilities, all of which were far more likely than He Kui coming down directly.

Thinking this, Dearka chose not to voice it.

"However, we can't be sure just based on that."

"But this kind of entry into battle, aside from them, there shouldn't be any organization that would do this, right?"

Andrew, feeling troubled, plugged the storage device into the computer.

Following the rumors, Andrew successfully decrypted the heavily encrypted data, and then he froze in front of the computer.

Even though he considered himself well-informed, the information before him still left Andrew in a daze.

After all, the hero of ZAFT, the recipient of the Nebula Medal, and the captain of the Creuset team, who was currently fighting on the lunar front, was actually a clone of a natural person.

"What does it say?"

Dearka, seeing Andrew's expression, also leaned in to take a look.

"Nothing."

"I can head back now."

Hearing Andrew's words, Dearka's lips twitched.

But he was no longer the immature Dearka of the past.

He understood the gravity of the situation and, not wanting to be overly curious, simply saluted before leaving Andrew's room.

"Andy, what's wrong?"

Aisha, who had been silent, now looked at Andrew, whose face was ashen, with concern.

"Immediately contact ZAFT in the fastest way possible!"

Andrew said without hesitation.

According to the voice message, Creuset might soon receive a notification about the leak of his information.

If that were the case, he needed to act quickly; otherwise, Creuset could cause significant damage to their lunar front.

Recalling the Reborn Gundam incident, Andrew's expression grew increasingly grim.

With Creuset's abilities and that Mobile Suit, if they were unprepared, they could very well lose the moon again.

Although this news had not been thoroughly confirmed, what if it were true?

Verifying whether he was a clone was simple; they just needed to have him remove his mask and take a blood sample.

In contrast, if they didn't verify, the risk would be too great.

This choice was one anyone would make.

Of course, it might be difficult to persuade Zala to send someone. If that didn't work, he would contact Lacus.

"Alright."

With a decision made, Andrew nodded, and Aisha agreed.

Fortunately, the nearby Capetalia base had a long-range laser communication device developed by He Kui, capable of connecting directly to ZAFT's homeland.

In less than half a day, this intelligence, along with Andrew himself, appeared at the Capetalia base.

"Are you serious?"

On the other side of the monitor, Joule frowned deeply after hearing Andrew's words.

"But after all, it's just a baseless piece of intelligence."

"It employs extremely sophisticated encryption methods and cannot be transmitted remotely; if it were a prank, the cost would be too high."

Andrew replied.

"What if it's to delay our offensive speed on the moon?"

"Let's transport the intelligence here and then make a decision."

Joule countered.

"Forgive my boldness, but you shouldn't have any large-scale offensive plans recently, right? And while this intelligence is suspicious, is there really a need for someone to place this on the battlefield?"

"Joule, we can't wait any longer!"

Andrew bent deeply at this moment.

He certainly understood why the other party was reluctant to check Creuset over this matter.

After all, he was the most valued person by Zala.

If something happened to him, Zala's prestige would undoubtedly be shaken.

However, the gains and losses on the battlefield, the lives of soldiers, were far more important than these concerns.
