Amakusa arrived at his church, and closed the wooden doors. He went further in to the sanctuary and upon pressing a seemingly hidden switch, a hole was opened into the wall and inside was a set of stairs that led to the upper floors. It was one of many entrances to the upper floors, this one specifically leading to the living quarters which was heavily fortified using mystery and Amakusas mysterious gift granted through grace from heaven. It was a gift, one of unparalleled customization that teetered on the edge of the absolute.
As he finished ascending the flights of stairs, he called out with his voice "Naruto! Sakura! Kuro!" Out from the adjacent hallway came two kids, one who was of highschool age, about 17 and the other was about 7. Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Matou, well I guess their last names would be Hanami now that they were under his wing.
"Papa/Amakusa!" they shouted with a silent black cat following them from behind. She was sleek and slender and her body seemingly stretched infinitely when you held her, but don't let her mask fool you. Kuro, or Kuroka, was a person worth a great deal in someones life and she was found nearly lifeless at the steps of the church. Amakusa took her in and nursed her to health and she came to respect him after that.
"Hello Amakusa, where were you this evening?" asked Kuroka as she jumped on his shoulders, licking her paws. "I was talking a walk after sweeping the church and encountered something interesting" said Amakusa, who smiled briefly as he went to the kitchedn and began to make some tea. He also had dinner planned as well, hoping to treat his children after their day of studying and hard work with practice.
"What's for dinner?" asked Naruto as he entered the kitchen with his big sis Sakura. "I was thinking some fish as we haven't had that in a hot minute" said Amakusa as he poured some tea for everybody and began to get out all the required ingredients like salmon, vegetables, seasoning, and some side dishes as just fish would be very bland.
Amakusa was a cook, a good one at that after he did some learning and modifications to his own cooking skills. It was quite unreal to have powers like he did, once hailing from a world that was very little in the supernatural side, at least publicly. He had to adjust when he found out his new world, and the fact he was in a potential danger zone his own government would have classified as a forbidden travel spot on his passport. 'Man I miss Korea, they had such nice chapels there' Amakusa reminisced as his time on missions to foreign countries, spreading his faith.
"Naruto, hows the furball?" Amakusa asked Naruto as he made his way in preparing dinner. "He's fine, but he's asleep in the bed in my room" said Naruto as he swung his legs to and fro under the table, waiting for his precious dinner. "Go get him for me please" said Amakusa as Naruto made his way to his bedroom which was decorated with posters depicting the Hokage, and a shelf stored with scrolls, books, comics, and even stuffed plushies of animals of a curious nature.
"Kurama!" shouted Naruto as the aptly named fox rose from its slumber, its red slit eyes opening very slowly. "Did you have to wake me up?" asked Kurama as he stretched his legs in a cat like fashion and trotted over to the boy's side. "Yeah, papa called for you" said Naruto as he led him to the kitchen. It seemed Amakusa was finished with dinner and was just beginning to serve it on plates and bowls depending on the person.
"Hey Kurama, how was your nap?" asked Amakusa as everyone got settled into their seats. "Good" said Kurama. "Sakura, will you pray for this meal today?" asked Amakusa as Sakura nodded and each began to go to prayer. "Oh lord who thou art in heaven, bless this food and all those who share it, for we thank thee lord for your grace, Amen!" she recited as if she was trained for it.
As they were eating dinner, Amakusa began to ask questions about their day. "Naruto, how was the academy?" he asked as he stuffed his face with a mouthful of fish. "Its been okay, the training is rough but its bearable" he said with a nonchalant attitude. "Have you given thought of transferring?" asked Amakusa as Naruto shook his head. "I wanna be Hokage, so I need to be a ninja!" said Naruto. Amakusa chuckled bit otherwise didn't comment more on his life, his own thoughts forming about the situation.
"Sakura, what about you? I know you switched over to Kuoh not to long ago, so hows the adjustment period?" asked Amakusa. "...Its been fine, but I do miss my regular friends" she said quietly. "You know you can still visit them right?" asked Amakusa as she nodded. "Yes, I just haven't made the trip yet" said Sakura as she ate her dinner. "Kuroka, anything new in town?" "Besides the devil activity and possible threats, not anything newer than a few days ago".
They ate their dinner in relative silence, savoring the taste of the meal until the last chopstick was done being used. They then began to get ready for bed, with Amakusa and Sakura helping Naruto into his bed time routine while Kuroka and Kurama watched on aimlessly, not having a care in the world.
"Remember Naruto, you have training with Kuroka tomorrow" said Amakusa before he tucked him into bed and accompanied Sakura into her room, giving her a good night as they shut the door. It was just Kuroka and Amakusa now, sitting on the couch with Kuroka in her human form, dressed with an impressive kimono which while somewhat risque, was still a lot more modest than usual. It seemed she adapted to her new life style quite nicely as she nodded to sleep.
Amakusa, now free of worry headed down towards the sanctuary, which upon arrival he was greeted by someone he knew.
[A/N: Happy Sunday! I'm the author here and I just wanted to put some things out there. Yes, the main character is going to be modeled on christian values and the work will reflect that somewhat. So even if he is a world like DXD, it will stay relatively clean. Of course, I hope I am portraying the faith right and hopefully will continue to do so. If anybody wishes to correct me, please do! I rather be corrected than wrong. Anyhow, I hope you guys enjoy the book, and hop on for the ride with a priest and his church.]
