Chapter - 124
"What happened?" Jacob asked, his brow furrowing.
Loriel straightened her posture, her cheeks faintly flushed. "You've been asleep for nearly three days," she explained softly. "After you killed the Kraken, you collapsed from exhaustion. Sir Draven said it was from faerium overuse—he reassured the Queen that you'd be fine with enough rest, but you were completely out of it."
Jacob nodded slowly, trying to process her words. His head felt heavy, and his body ached in ways he hadn't thought possible. Out of habit, he reached up to run a hand through his hair, only for a sharp, searing pain to shoot through his right arm. He winced, looking down to see his arm heavily bandaged.
"You shouldn't move that arm," Loriel admonished, her hand pressing gently against his chest to keep him from straining further. "In fact, you shouldn't be moving at all. You're lucky to be alive after pushing your body that far. Rest is the only thing you should be focusing on right now."
