Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 I'm Calling the Police

"This time, give back what you owe me, spit out what you've eaten from me, and for hitting me, hmm!"

Wan Chu'er, with her thoughts collected, proudly raised her head; she wanted everyone to know she wasn't someone to be trifled with.

Eh? When did they change the battlefield? They were now in the teachers' common office. It seemed that she had indeed been somewhat confused and helped to walk here.

There were a few teachers in the office, and the middle-aged man who had just shielded her was also there; this middle-aged man was their physical education Teacher An Lian, who still stood in front of Wan Chu'er in a protective stance.

Besides the teachers, the four girls who had just been fighting were also there; Liu Li had also woken up from her unconscious state, glaring at Wan Chu'er with a face swollen like a pig's head, while the other three girls were bowing their heads, looking scared and docile.

Their homeroom teacher was a young female teacher with the last name Zhu, who was asking the three girls what exactly had happened.

"We saw Wan Chu'er wasn't feeling well and hadn't attended the PE class, so we kindly came to check on her. But unexpectedly, she seemed to go mad again, grabbing Liu Li and beating her relentlessly; we couldn't pull her off at all."

Haha, such deceptive eloquence, completely distorting the truth!

The former awkward Wan Chu'er might have let it slide, but the current Wan Chu'er would definitely not allow them to falsely accuse her.

"Teacher, I have something to report," Wan Chu'er suddenly interrupted them.

Everyone in the office turned to look at Wan Chu'er, who spoke out suddenly, all faces filled with surprise.

Wan Chu'er was indeed an eccentric person; usually, no one could get a word out of her, and when pressed, she would fiercely retort, embarrassing those who cared about her. Gradually, everyone stopped asking Wan Chu'er, and her presence became lesser known.

This fight was already shocking enough; everyone thought she would stay silent, head bowed, face sulking as usual. But unexpectedly, she spoke out loud and even politely.

Wan Chu'er didn't care about the surprise from these people, and once again said boldly, "Teacher, whatever they just said is nonsense. I have something to say."

The young homeroom Teacher Zhu snapped back to reality, blinked, and then said, "Go ahead."

"Teacher, I want to report this to the police. Please help me call the police," Wan Chu'er said loudly.

What? Call the police? Now what situation was this? Wan Chu'er's words shocked everyone, and the four girls looked at her as if she were a fool.

Wan Chu'er was definitely not her normal self today.

Just then, a harsh-sounding woman's voice came from outside.

"Who hit my Lili? Which scoundrel did it? Come out!"

Then, the office door was suddenly pushed open from the outside with a bang, startling everyone inside. Everyone turned to look at the door, only to see a plump middle-aged woman, stout and with a face full of aggressive flesh, standing there looking like a shrew.

Teacher Zhu in the office was the first to snap back to her senses, quickly asking, "May I ask which student's parent you are?"

But the plump woman completely ignored Teacher Zhu's question, her eyes suddenly widening, then in two or three steps she rushed towards Liu Li.

"Lili, how did you end up like this? Are you in pain? Who is the damned person who did this? Mom will definitely avenge you, don't worry, I'll make sure they can't escape the consequences."

It turned out to be Liu Li's mother; someone had passed on the chaos to Liu Li's mother, which is why she showed up so quickly.

Liu Li's mother carefully hugged Liu Li, both distressed and angry.

Upon seeing her mom, Liu Li suddenly felt like she had backing, crying with grievance, "Mom, it was Wan Chu'er; she hit me." She pointed her finger at Wan Chu'er.

Liu Li's mom immediately followed her daughter's finger, looking towards Wan Chu'er, and when she saw Wan Chu'er's appearance clearly, she was momentarily startled.

There before her stood a girl as disheveled as her daughter, her hair a mess, her face bruised and patched purple and blue, with bloodstains at the corners of her mouth and eyes, her clothes torn and disordered, even more ragged than Liu Li.

Wan Chu'er seized the moment before Liu Li's mother regained her composure and said aloud, "I want to report to the police that Liu Li and three others have been bullying classmates, robbing, and intimidating me for a long time."

"You're talking nonsense!" As soon as Wan Chu'er spoke, Liu Li immediately retorted, while the other teachers were shocked.

Liu Li's mother snapped back, "Don't spout nonsense, you brat. My Lili is a consistently awarded Triple Excellence student every year, how could she do such things? And you, why did you hit my daughter? Who are your parents? If you don't give me an explanation today, I won't let this go easily!"

These days, academic performance is king. Since Liu Li ranks at the top in every exam, she naturally earns the title of a Triple Excellence student.

Teacher An Lian, who was beside Wan Chu'er, turned to look at her and, seeing her determined look, asked, "Wan Chu'er, are you sure you want to call the police?"

"I'm sure. Let the police investigate and everything will be clear!" Wan Chu'er said firmly.

Teacher An gently said, "Okay, I'll help you call the police."

Hearing this, Teacher Zhu, the class adviser, got uneasy first. In the nineties, calling the police was still very taboo, and she quickly said, "Teacher An, Wan Chu'er, hold on, let's solve this ourselves first and not trouble the police."

"Wan Chu'er, you can first discuss the matter with the teachers, we will handle it justly."

The other three girls nearby finally relaxed, knowing well what they had done. If Wan Chu'er truly brought this matter forward, especially to the police, how could they face others in the future?

Liu Li and her daughter were somewhat dazed, thinking weren't they just discussing today's fight? Why did it shift to whether to involve the police or not, and isn't her daughter the victim here?

Wan Chu'er sneered. Despite her swollen and bloodied face that bore no good appearance, she exuded a fierce aura that couldn't be ignored.

"Since the start of freshman year, Liu Li and other classmates have been robbing me of my lunch money every day. I have five yuan every day, five days a week, four weeks a month; over a year, they have already robbed me of at least 1,200 yuan."

1,200 yuan!

In 1996, that was a huge amount, indeed enough to warrant a police report. Everyone except Liu Li and her mother widened their eyes in shock.

Wan Chu'er continued, "Besides robbing my money, Liu Li has also coerced me to clean for her, do her homework, and even during exams, I had to write her name on my paper, while she wrote mine on hers. If her score fell below 85, she and others would beat me up."

The people in the office were again shocked, looking back and forth between the good student Liu Li and the poor student Wan Chu'er, unsure how to react.

Teacher An Lian furrowed her brows and stepped closer to Wan Chu'er.

Sitting beside them, Liu Li could no longer stay calm. It felt as if something inside her brain had collapsed with a crash, her image as a good student destroyed by Wan Chu'er.

She couldn't bear it any longer and suddenly lunged at Wan Chu'er.

"You're lying, you bitch, just like your mom seducing people, full of lies, I'm going to rip you apart, making up such nonsense, I've never done these things..."

Teacher An Lian stepped in front of Wan Chu'er, blocking Liu Li, whose claws didn't reach Wan Chu'er.

Liu Li's sudden outburst made everyone in the office react, Liu Li's mother also charged towards Teacher An.

"Let go, release my daughter, who dares touch my daughter, I'll fight you to the end..."

The other teachers hurried over, pulling and persuading.

Just as chaos erupted, a clear voice rang out.

"Hello, is this the police station? I am Wan Chu'er from Class Four, Grade Eleven at Wutong Middle School. I want to call the police..."

Wan Chu'er had seized the chaos to pick up the office phone and dialed the police.
