For three straight days, the seven people who went out to look for jobs had come back with nothing.
One would think it would be easy for them with military backgrounds to mix into an official patrol team or security team at the base.
Normally, when they were temporarily stationed at a base or a village town for a mission, finding temporary work was effortless. Often, before they could even seek out work themselves, the person in charge would take the initiative to invite them, hoping they would help identify security flaws or train their own local security personnel.
The so-called guard teams in many places were actually temporarily assembled militias, and in the entire troop, it might be hard to find even one person with a formal military background, let alone someone from the police force. They were somewhat capable of handling minor disturbances, but when confronted with medium-sized armed forces, they were virtually helpless and could only passively endure assaults.
