EDWINA
"What is she doing here?" I asked, unable to help the sharpness in my voice.
"Calm down, Ed. She has something to tell you," my best friend said placatingly.
"Why did she contact you if she has something to tell me?" I countered.
"Because you might not have picked up, duh. If you saw her call all of a sudden, tell me the truth, would you have picked it?" Juliette asked, her steady gaze holding mine.
I sighed softly.
They were right. I would not have.
I leaned back on the couch and eventually turned to Charlotte.
"Might as well get it over with. Hello, Charlotte," I greeted coolly. And Kieran's sister rolled her eyes at me.
"And here I thought I was invisible. Took you long enough to finally direct your words to me."
Her words were delivered with a snap, and it was my turn to roll my eyes. Kieran's younger sister had always been sharp mouthed.
It was one of the things I liked about her.
"Get over yourself please. This is about Kieran, right?" I deadpanned.
