KIERAN
Charlotte's knee buckled under the weight of the confession, just like mine had.
Archie's arm wrapped around her immediately, and he guided her towards the couch in the corner.
The couch I had slept on as I watched over Edwina for more than a hundred days.
Archie turned disbelieving eyes to me.
"How come? What happened? What did the doctor say?" he asked, not even allowing me to take a breath as his questions flew right at me one way after the other.
I sighed as I sat back down. I hated how helpless I felt, how useless this whole situation was making me feel.
"The doctor said he'll have to carry out some additional tests to determine the type of amnesia that she has. He just left a few minutes before you guys came in," I responded.
Edwina's gaze kept flitting between me and my best friend and his wife, and I answered the question that was in her eyes.
"That's Archie and Charlotte. My best friend and his wife, who is also my younger sister," I explained.
