Right there and then. I would go over to join her, because I seriously could not imagine a life without her. 


I stood at a spot, frozen. Waiting for the doctor to look at me. 


But when he did, he didn't shake his head. Instead, a small smile played on his lips. 


"She's stable now. Thank goodness. I am also happy to inform you that your wife is no longer in a coma. I believe the worse is over. She is sleeping right now," he said, patted me on the shoulder, and walked out with his entourage of nurses. 


The wave of relief that crashed into me made me feel faint. A sob tore past my lips, and I had never felt so…relieved about anything in my entire life.
