I knew I should not have allowed Ciara to get into the marriage with Noah.
I had known that he was going to hurt her, and I had actually tried to stop him, but my efforts were halfhearted. Because despite my sister's objection, I saw the longing in her eyes.
She was never good at hiding her emotions. She never was. So when I saw how hard she was trying to conceal her longing for Noah, I let go of my objections.
I stood back and let them go along with it. When she ran to me a few months ago after they got into another fight and the article got released, I wanted to ask her to leave him.
But somehow, she had fallen even more in love with him. I saw how miserable she was, and my heart broke for her.
When he came for her and I saw the same desperation in his eyes, I thought that maybe, the both of them would work things out. I figured that since they both knew they had feelings for each other, they could just have a talk and figure it all out.
