Ares didn't know what to do. Ideally, he was supposed to be avoiding her.
He was supposed to stay faraway from her, until he could figure his shit.
But she seemed to always be present whenever he thought he didn't need her.
And no matter what the situation dictated, he couldn't make her leave.
He didn't want her to leave. He wanted her close to him, and his heart that was at risk of becoming rigid.
"Your muscles are so tense," she said, as she ran the washcloth across his shoulders. "It must have been tough confronting Francesca. Yeah, I know she's the one you met up with. Nico, and Marxism were concerned about you. They came to me for Tony's number. He must have told them where you were. I'm glad they found you. It feels good to have you here," she continued to speak, already forgetting about her own problems, because she just wanted to make him feel better.
Ares didn't say a word in response. He just battled with his feelings.
