Chapter 279: Gathering Allies, Returning to Shiyan City
"The Necromancer Plan!"
As soon as Su Qian spoke, the elders exchanged surprised looks, their faces reflecting astonishment.
The Necromancer Plan—this was something they hadn't heard about in many years.
Mo Yu also paused, a thoughtful look flashing in his silver eyes. After spending more than six months at Jia Nan Academy, he had learned quite a bit about the academy. Naturally, he had heard of the Necromancer Plan.
The plan's name came from the Necromancer Tree located near the peaceful town at the academy's entrance. In the Black-Corner Region, due to well-known reasons, the name of the Necromancer Tree had become something that struck fear into people's hearts.
However, compared to the Necromancer Plan, the Necromancer Tree was a minor issue, hardly worth mentioning.
While the tree had claimed the lives of a few Dou Wang and Dou Huang-level experts, the Necromancer Plan was a full-scale operation that always resulted in rivers of blood.
According to incomplete statistics, the academy had only launched the Necromancer Plan twice since its founding, but each time, a third of the Black-Corner Region's experts had been wiped out!
This included several Dou Huangs and over a dozen Dou Wangs. In one instance, even a Dou Zong expert had fallen into Jia Nan Academy's hands during the operation, showing just how terrifying the Necromancer Plan could be.
Unlike the Necromancer Tree, where only those who trespassed and disrespected the academy's rules were killed, the Necromancer Plan was a deliberate purge of the Black-Corner Region. Once the plan was activated, it became the nightmare of everyone in the Black-Corner Region.
Clearly, Han Feng's actions had completely enraged the academy!
Mo Yu hadn't expected Su Qian to make such a decisive move. While the Necromancer Plan had brought the academy great renown, it had also caused significant losses.
Shaking his head, Mo Yu stopped thinking about it and turned to Su Qian, saying, "Elder, I once founded a faction in the Black-Corner Region called the Yuan Manor. Since Han Feng is responsible for harming my cousin Xiao Yan, I request that the academy allow me and Yuan Manor to participate in the Necromancer Plan!" Mo Yu's silver eyes flashed as he spoke.
"Oh? Yuan Manor?" Su Qian was taken aback. He hadn't expected someone as young as Mo Yu to have already founded a faction.
Though surprised, neither Su Qian nor Hu Qian gave much thought to the strength of Yuan Manor. After all, when Mo Yu had first entered the academy, he was only a Dou Ling (Battle Spirit). Even though his strength had increased rapidly, a faction he had created less than a year ago couldn't be that strong, right?
Despite these thoughts, Su Qian, knowing Mo Yu's strong desire for revenge and impressive strength, didn't refuse. Nodding, he said, "Very well. You may join forces with your Yuan Manor and work alongside the academy. If you encounter any danger, the academy will allow Yuan Manor to seek refuge."
Seeing Su Qian's somewhat dismissive attitude, Mo Yu raised an eyebrow but didn't mind.
It was true that Jia Nan Academy had a prestigious reputation and wouldn't care much about an unknown faction. However, Mo Yu knew that while Han Feng was foolish in some ways, his creation, the Black Alliance, wasn't something the academy could easily defeat.
And Yuan Manor wasn't as weak as they thought.
As the battles between Jia Nan Academy and the Black Alliance continued, Yuan Manor would gain strength and grow to a point where no one could ignore it.
"Thank you, Elder, for your support!" Mo Yu kept his thoughts hidden and calmly replied, "Yuan Manor will not disappoint the academy. However, since Yuan Manor's strength is still developing, we may struggle to bear too much responsibility. I hope the academy can provide some additional support."
Su Qian paused, then stroked his white beard and said, "That's easy to arrange. Since all the elders are present, you can choose whichever elder you like, and I'll have them accompany you to the Black-Corner Region."
Mo Yu shook his head, surprising Su Qian and the others. "I don't need elders. I need students. I hope you'll allow me to take some of the students from the Mo Gang and integrate them into Yuan Manor to help carry out the Necromancer Plan and purge the Black-Corner Region."
For Mo Yu, even though his strength had surpassed most of the elders at the academy, these seasoned figures were set in their ways and held high positions. Taking them back to Yuan Manor would be far from ideal.
On the other hand, the students from the Mo Gang were his loyal followers. Bringing them into Yuan Manor would immediately strengthen his faction.
Moreover, the potential for growth among the Mo Gang members far exceeded that of these aging elders.
"Oh?"
Su Qian narrowed his eyes slightly, as if seeing through Mo Yu's intentions. After a long pause, he slowly nodded.
"Agreed."
Mo Gang.
In the spacious hall, many students stared at the silver-eyed youth standing before them, their eyes filled with a mix of admiration and excitement.
"Ahem. Everyone, you should all know what happened today. The Black-Corner Region dared to offend Jia Nan Academy and harm our fellow students. The academy's leadership is furious and has issued the Necromancer Plan.
Moreover, our leader founded a faction in the Black-Corner Region called Yuan Manor, and he has already volunteered to hunt down the Medicine Emperor Han Feng.
Now, we need people. If you feel you're up to the challenge and have the courage to face the Black-Corner Region with us, step forward!" Lin Yan, having already been briefed by Mo Yu, addressed the crowd in a serious tone.
"Boom!"
In unison, dozens of students stepped forward, their faces filled with excitement and determination.
Seeing so many volunteers step up without hesitation, even Mo Yu couldn't help but feel a bit touched, a sense of pride swelling within him.
"Fourteen high-level Dou Lings, the rest are all Dou Ling experts, and with you and me as quasi-Dou Wangs, what do you think, boss?" Qian Mo asked, turning to Mo Yu after taking stock of those who had stepped forward.
"That's enough," Mo Yu smiled and patted Qian Mo on the shoulder. "You and Lin Yan have done a great job expanding the Mo Gang while I was away in seclusion for two months."
Qian Mo blushed slightly at the praise. "It's all thanks to your reputation, boss. Lin Yan and I were just caretakers. But once we get to Yuan Manor, can you give me a proper position? When we face those Black-Corner Region scoundrels, I'll be the first to charge in and teach them a lesson!"
Mo Yu nodded. "Don't worry, Yuan Manor won't disappoint you."
He then addressed the eager crowd in the hall, his voice serious. "There's no need for me to say much. Clearing out the Black-Corner Region is not just my personal matter—it's an important task for the entire academy! From now on, anyone who kills a Black-Corner Region expert and earns merit will be handsomely rewarded by me!"
The students' faces lit up with smiles. They had long since learned that Mo Yu always kept his promises, rewarding those who earned it.
His growing reputation filled them with excitement and battle-readiness.
"Let's go!" Mo Yu shouted, sweeping his gaze across the hall before leading the way out. The crowd followed behind him with fervor.
As such a large group moved through the inner courtyard, they caused quite a stir. Many gasped when they saw the silver-eyed youth leading the charge.
Ignoring the curious onlookers, Mo Yu and his followers made their way to the courtyard's exit. As they passed through the dense forest, they noticed the hidden portal to the outside world had already been opened. From beyond, the low growls of griffins echoed.
"There are over a dozen griffins waiting outside to take you straight to your destination," said Lin Xiuya, Lin Shuya, and Zi Yan, who had appeared suddenly.
"The elders prepared them for us," Lin Shuya explained. "The Necromancer Plan isn't just for Mo Gang. Every student has a duty to restore the academy's honor. We heard you also founded a faction in the Black-Corner Region, and while we might not be as strong as you, we want to help. May we join you?"
After Lin Shuya spoke, Lin Xiuya stepped forward, and even the young Zi Yan stared at Mo Yu, her large, dark eyes full of determination.
Mo Yu was momentarily surprised, but then he smiled. "If you're willing, of course you can join us!"
Lin Xiuya, Lin Shuya, and Zi Yan were some of the strongest students in the academy, just below him and Xiao Yan. Their addition would undoubtedly boost Yuan Manor's strength.
Although Mo Yu knew they wouldn't stay in Yuan Manor forever, their support would give the faction the time it needed to grow stronger.
"Thank you to the elders for their help!" Mo Yu said, turning toward the inner courtyard as a sign of gratitude. He then raised his hand and shouted, "Let's go!"
With his command, the large group quickly mounted the griffins and flew through the silver portal, disappearing beyond its shimmering surface.
As they vanished, the portal rippled and slowly faded until it disappeared entirely.
Deep within the inner courtyard, on the balcony of a pavilion, Su Qian stood with his hands behind his back, gazing in the direction of the courtyard's exit. After a moment, he spoke softly, "They've gone."
"Elder Su, is it really wise to let Mo Yu take the academy's students into the Black-Corner Region?" a hesitant elder asked from behind him.
"Don't worry. With Mo Yu's strength, there shouldn't be any casualties. Besides, it will be good for the students to experience real life-or-death battles." Su Qian smiled and waved his hand. "And I want to see what Mo Yu's true intentions are. I have a feeling Yuan Manor won't remain in obscurity for long."
Hearing this, the elder smiled wryly and nodded. The Black-Corner Region was filled with ruthless killers, after all.
Su Qian's last remark left the elder puzzled, though. What was so special about this faction Mo Yu had founded?
"Go inform all the academy elders that in three days, we will gather for a full-scale assault. We're going to give the Black-Corner Region a harsh lesson. Let's remind them that Jia Nan Academy is not to be trifled with!" Su Qian's eyes gleamed coldly as he waved his hand.
"Yes!"
The elder's face stiffened, and he quickly left the room.
High in the sky, tiny black dots could be seen in the distance. As time passed, the dots grew larger until they became over a dozen massive griffins, flying through the air with a roar.
On the leading griffin, Mo Yu narrowed his eyes as he looked at the distant horizon. Turning to Lin Yan beside him, he asked, "We've entered the Black-Corner Region by now, right?"
Lin Yan nodded, pulling out a map from his storage ring and spreading it out. Pointing to a spot on the map, he said, "According to what you told us, we're not far from Shiyan City, where Yuan Manor is based."
Mo Yu nodded slightly, calming his anxious thoughts as he sat cross-legged on the griffin's broad back and closed his eyes to rest.
Yuan Manor… I wonder how much it's grown.
With the help of the griffins, which were perfect for long-distance travel, Mo Yu's group avoided many of the usual challenges of the Black-Corner Region.
After a night of flying, they neared their destination. Soon, a tall, solid rock city came into view.
As the inner courtyard students curiously observed the city, a sharp voice called out from the city walls.
"Who goes there? Don't you know that flying beasts are not allowed in Yuan Manor's territory?!"
Dozens of figures, radiating power and carrying the scent of blood, stood guard on the walls, their faces vigilant as they stared at the approaching griffins.
Hearing this, Mo Yu opened his eyes and saw the loyal, strong guards patrolling the walls. He nodded in approval.
It seemed that Yuan Manor had grown even more powerful and disciplined during his absence.
As his gaze shifted, Mo Yu suddenly noticed a tall figure wrapped in a black robe standing among the guards. The figure radiated a cold, sinister aura, and the strong scent of blood coming from them could be felt even from a distance.
Realizing who it was, Mo Yu murmured to himself, "Cousin Xiao Li…"
