The guards carried Auren to the second floor of the clock tower, where Zilore instructed them to lay him on a bed against the wall. Senara anxiously followed behind, staring at her unconscious son. "Sir Zilore, what is happening to my son?" she asked, her voice edged with worry and concern.
"Patience, my lady. Allow me to examine him," Zilore replied calmly, approaching the bed.
Though the king had asked him to wait for the right moment to investigate, Zilore hadn't expected that moment to arrive so soon after sunrise. Carefully, he took Auren's pulse, observing that it was steady and normal. The Earl was alive and breathing. He frowned in confusion, yet, with Lady Senara watching closely, he didn't dare to do anything.
"Marchioness Senara, Earl Auren is fine," he said with practiced ease. "It appears to be mere exhaustion, along with minor abrasions. He simply needs rest. I will ensure he receives proper care."
