Five hundred gold coins!
Mirabella secretly clenched her teeth. Did I rush to retort?
But her face betrayed nothing. Her pride refused to back down, and she solemnly nodded at Briseth.
"I will buy it."
Elvessa sneered, secretly waiting for her to return and take the gold coins but before Mirabella could move, Silas, the king's advisor, entered the grand hall. A line of maids followed behind him, carefully holding a gown. The same one the king had purchased from Wingstone.
The very gown Mirabella had restrained herself from pecking at, dazzled by the glittering stones.
Everyone in the hall stood mesmerized by the sight of the gown. Even Briseth, who had created more than a hundred gowns in her lifetime, was left speechless by the astonishing craftsmanship.
Mirabella, however, was the only one not surprised. What puzzled her was why the king's advisor had brought it here. She had kept it safely tucked away in her cupboard.
