Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Scott Fellman.
I had separated from the girls once classes ended. Taylor and Azula went to check their nominations. They had certainly already made their first choices, but they still had to choose a second or third choice. As for me, I headed towards the gym. I stopped in one of the hallways when I heard my phone ring. I quickly answered it without looking at the identifier.
"Hello, Izumi speaking." I answered the call.
"Hey! Bastard! " Kazuma's shout through the phone made me raise an eyebrow.
"Kazuma?" I asked confused.
"How dare you ignore Darkness?" Kazuma asked angrily.
"Ignore her? What the hell are you talking about? " I asked, completely confused. Kazuma growled through the phone.
"You're ignoring her! After what you did to her at the festival, you idiot! " She was waiting for a call from you! " Kazuma said, I blinked several times.
"What did I do at the festival? Use her as a shield? " I asked awkwardly.
"Yeah! Exactly that! You were practically courting her with that!" Kazuma exclaimed, I snorted.
"Seriously, that was courtship? Also, courting? What year is it Kazuma? " I asked mockingly, Kazuma growled.
"Shut up, now stop ignoring Darkness, call her and take responsibility for your actions." Kazuma insisted. I rolled my eyes as I leaned against a nearby wall.
"First, I don't have her number to call her, second, I thought ignoring her would please her, and third, take responsibility for what? We were just teammates at the festival, nothing more." I said simply. My phone went silent.
"Touche. Yes, she likes being ignored, in fact, she spends half the time completely anxious and the other half delighted, BUT that's not the point." Kazuma growled, I let out a laugh. "Shut your mouth, the point is that she's completely in love with you now, so do something." Kazuma said, I sighed.
"You know it doesn't work like that." I said to Kazuma softly, he also sighed after a few seconds.
"Yeah... I know, sorry dude." Kazuma groaned, sounding more tired. "It's just that... Darkness is special, I... I can't treat her the way she wants, we tried to find another guy that's compatible with her, but none... none worked."
" When we saw you with her at the festival, I didn't really know what to think, but once we saw her during the break, she… she seemed really happy. Like she had found what she had been looking for. I just… I just want her to be happy." Kazuma murmured softly.
"Wow, emotional blackmail? Well played, Satou Kazuma. I'm impressed," I said dryly, the line going silent again.
"...did it work?" Kazuma asked shamelessly, I sighed deeply.
"I'm not promising anything, Kazuma. I'll think about it and talk to the girls about it, then I'll know how to proceed with it." I said firmly. I could hear Kazuma sigh in relief. "And that will be after the internship." I clarified.
"Oh yeah, the internships. They last for a week, right? " Kazuma asked, I hummed in confirmation, "Okay, okay, okay, I… I'll let Darkness know, but seriously… just think about it, Darkness is a good girl." Kazuma said softly, I sighed.
" Yeah, yeah, yeah, I already told you I'll think about it." I groaned before hanging up the call. I really didn't want Kazuma to start his Darkness sales pitch. I had to guess that this would involve using Darkness as a human shield and chair.
I sighed tiredly as a headache began to form. I didn't want to have to start the talk with the girls. I began walking once more towards the dorms.
"You!" The voice stopped me, and I looked over my shoulder. Louise de la Vallière was coming in my direction with heavy footsteps. Interesting. I turned around and faced Louise directly. She stopped in front of me.
"Yes?" I asked while raising an eyebrow. Louise took a deep breath before pointing her finger at me with a determined expression.
"I, Louise Françoise le Blanc de la Vallière, will grant you the honor of having you, Izumi Miyamura, be my new coach. You should rejoice at such a blessing." Louise said while ruffling her hair haughtily. I merely blinked.
"No thanks," I said simply before turning around and continuing on my way. Louise quickly ran over and stood in front of me once again.
"Stop, you can't leave! A commoner like you should be grateful for this opportunity! " Louise exclaimed. I could almost see the panic in her eyes, and I raised an eyebrow at her.
"Yes, no thanks." I repeated to myself before taking a step to the side to avoid her, but she immediately got back in the way.
"What?! Why not?! I heard you're teaching other people, especially that S rank with the insect quirk! I'm an S rank too!! " Louise exclaimed quickly. Now, that was interesting.
" An S rank? Interesting. I don't remember you standing out at the festival." I said simply, Louise blushed.
"It wasn't my fault! It was the stupid test and that stupid girl with the mind control quirk! " Louise growled, oh? If she remembered correctly, Louise had been in Shinso 's group. So she had been one of his victims.
"And what's your quirk?" I asked curiously, was it your void magic or not? I could see Louise paling several levels.
"Explosions, my quirk is explosions," Louise said quickly, my eyes widened slightly. She was lying. Now the question was, why? Is it possible that even in this world, she wasn't able to control her quirk? Just like in Zero no Tsukaima canon, Louise would create explosions every time she tried to use it?
But that left more questions. In the future, Louise was able to use elemental magic along with her void magic. Would this Louise be able to achieve the same? Plus, void magic was stupidly strong, and she was classified as an S rank, so to think that what she could do in canon could be achieved in this world.
The Void Explosion magic was ridiculously strong if she was able to pull it off… I shuddered slightly, and my smile grew. Not just Explosion, while Louise didn't have a large repertoire in canon, she was extremely powerful. And not to mention the World Gate. The ability to travel to other worlds was something, I was curious to see if she was able to replicate.
Interdimensional travel- the world gate was still a portal capable of reaching other worlds, It would be beneficial to have a teleporter of that range on speed dial.
"You're lying," I said simply after a quick consideration, I could see how Louise paled even more; she gritted her teeth. " And I don't care why, I just want to know, why do you think I can teach you? I certainly don't have anything resembling a quirk like yours." I said simply.
"Sword. I want you to teach me how to handle a sword." Louise said seriously. She had a determined look in her eyes. "You were able to make that bug girl strong without her quirk, strong enough to fight you head on, and you are strong, the strongest I've ever seen with a sword, I want to learn that, I will show everyone, especially my family, that I'm not a zero." She growled. I could see the fire of determination shining in her eyes. My smile grew huge.
"Well, well, well, you've convinced me. I'll teach you." I said with a smile. Oh, I could see it. Louise from canon was extremely stubborn; even with everyone insulting her, looking down on her, and ignoring her, she stood proudly with her back straight. On the other hand, she was hot-tempered, reckless, and very impatient, and she also had a constant need to prove herself and gain recognition.
Still, it was a pretty good combination. If this Louise had even a fraction of it, she could learn full concentration breathing. Oh, how I would have fun tortu-training her. My smile was completely wide.
"Really?!" she squealed, completely surprised. Apparently, she didn't expect me to accept her, now she had hope written all over her face. I nodded.
"Yes, I will teach you, but-" I interrupted her, cheering "-you will tell me everything about yourself, your history, and why you were lying about your quirk," I told her directly. I was genuinely curious as to why she was in Japan. And while I might be able to wait to learn her backstory, I would take any opportunity to find out sooner. Louise looked conflicted for a few moments but eventually nodded.
"Okay, I accept," Louise said, standing up straighter. I nodded.
"Okay, we'll talk again once we get back from internship." I told her simply. She nodded before blushing again, and she pulled out her phone.
"C-can I have your number?! So I can contact you once we're done with our internship! " Louise said quickly. I chuckled but nodded as I took the phone. I quickly typed in my number and texted it to my phone before handing it back to her.
"See you later, Louise." I said simply as I walked away. I stopped as I turned one of the corners. I smiled at the cry of victory Louise let out.
Well, I guess I had one more student, I thought amusedly as I headed to the gym.
---------------------
I had finished my shower and plopped down in my seat as I finished drying my hair with a towel only to be interrupted by knocking on the door. I sighed as I stood up with the towel around my neck. I opened the door and saw Yaoyorozu in front of me.
"Ah, Miyamura, sorry to interrupt. I hope I'm not disturbing you, but there's someone at the dorm door calling for you." Yaoyorozu said with a smile. I frowned slightly but nodded. I quickly threw the towel aside, headed downstairs, and opened the dorm door. Tanya Degurechaff.
She was still as short as ever. I'm sure she couldn't be more than 130 centimeters tall.
"Greetings, Miyamura. I've come to negotiate." Tanya said simply, I snorted in amusement. I looked over my shoulder to see my classmates watching from afar. I rolled my eyes.
"Let's go outside, or they'll keep staring." I snorted derisively as I walked out of the bedroom and closed the door behind me. We both sat down on the bench in the yard a few steps away from us. "Yeah?" I asked curiously. Tanya didn't even hesitate as she held out a thick stack of papers to me. I raised an eyebrow, but grabbed the papers and started reading through them… huh?
"Those papers have all the relevant information about Visha and me. There's a small biography about our lives, a list of our likes and dislikes, followed by an analysis of all our skills, qualities, and benefits that we bring along with us. This also includes how it would benefit you. to prevent bias, there's also a detailed list of flaws and cons about us." Tanya said as if it was a routine matter.
"Huh?" I asked stupidly, what the hell was going on? I kept looking at the papers and I was right, I had exactly what Tanya said. To my surprise, Tanya was an orphan, she was adopted by Viktoriya's parents at the age of 4 (not at all surprising since that's exactly the age at which children awaken their quirks) and they were raised as sisters since then.
"Our academic history is also fully detailed, all of our grades and extracurricular activities. There is also the medical history for both of us. We are completely healthy, fertile and we are both virgins. Our quirks are extremely similar due to the common ancestry in our gene pool as you well know, and both are rare, they are classified as Trump."
Common ancestry, when a group of people share the same ancestors, quirks tend to repeat themselves. Quirks are hereditary, so it is normal for people with the same ancestors to have similar or related quirks. That is common around the world in fairly conservative towns or cities.
That's why Azula's Fire Nation was called that, they had the population with the highest amount of fire-type quirks per capita. More than half of them had a quirk related to fire or heat.
But leaving that aside. What the fuck?
"Are you trying to sell yourself?" I asked, completely confused.
"I'm selling us." Tanya corrected me immediately. "Visha and I, we're a set, it's either both of us or neither." I blinked several times in her direction.
"My apologies, are you trying to sell yourself and your sister?" I asked again politely, Tanya nodded satisfied with the question.
"Of course. I was hoping to observe a little longer and wait until the end of our second year or third year to make an offer. But your performance during the sports festival was exemplary and I had to move up my plans if we want to be considered. You already have three engaged partners, so I'm covering my bases by committing early." Tanya said completely pleased with herself. I stared at her stupidly.
"This… is it to start a relationship?" I asked carefully, Tanya nodded.
"Of course, what else would it be?" Tanya asked confusedly, I massaged the bridge of my nose.
"And you decided that the best way was to… sell yourself as if you were looking for a job?" I asked once again, Tanya nodded.
"A relationship is a full time job." Tanya said wisely, hating that she was partially right. "This shows my dedication and shows my and Visha's worth as a selectable partner product. While I admit we fall short of an S-rank partner, we will both support you, be faithful and committed to this relationship and the rest of your partners, and meet the demands as partners. If you look further into the papers, everything is written there." Tanya recited as if she were reading a prepared speech.
"… Serebryakov is aware of this?" I asked, I could feel the beginning of a headache. Tanya nodded.
"Of course, Visha lets me take care of everything," Tanya said as she puffed out her chest, proud of her work.
"I-" What could I say to this?! I didn't understand anything at all of what was going on! What kind of person gives themselves a price, as if they were a profitable human resource as if-
My eyes opened wide. THAT Tanya would do it! Now… the question was… would I or wouldn't I? Taylor's bugs weren't present, and I couldn't sense anyone nearby, so we were pretty much alone.
"Tell me, have you met Being X yet?" I asked nonchalantly. It all happened in an instant. Tanya's eyes opened wide, I could see the disbelief, terror, and fury in her eyes. Tanya moved immediately, turning her small body, placing herself on top of me, with one of her knees she slammed my arm against the wooden seat, with one of her hands she grabbed my other arm by the wrist, and with her free hand she extended two fingers as if it were a gun and placed them under my chin and they immediately began to glow dangerously.
"Who are you? How do you know Being X? Are you working for him?" Tanya hissed hatefully. That had just confirmed it completely; Tanya was a reincarnation! I couldn't help myself.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!" I started laughing out loud. Tanya looked at me in disbelief but continued to hold me in place.
"Why the hell are you laughing? Talk now!" Tanya hissed. I visibly calmed down and smiled at her.
"Relax, I have nothing to do with Being X, I'm just like you; I'm reincarnated," I said with a smile. Tanya visibly froze. Her mind seemed to be working overtime to understand the implications. I simply let her process whatever she was thinking.
"What year were you from? What country? Who was the president of the United States?! " she asked quickly, almost sounding desperate. I answered her questions immediately, and she stopped and wrinkled her nose. "From the year 2013," she added when my last answer did not convince her. I answered her again immediately.
"Does that satisfy your doubts?" I asked with a smile. She just glared at me.
"How do I know you're not working with Being X yet?" she finally asked. I shrugged.
"I've never met him," I said simply. Tanya looked at me in confusion.
"Wait, if you've never met him, how do you know his name? No, how do you know what I call him?" Tanya asked as she narrowed her eyes. I hummed lightly.
"Did you realize that this world is a strange mix of many animes, mangas, and other series?" I asked calmly. Tanya frowned at the obvious change of topic, but she nodded.
"I can't say I recognize all of them, but yes, I noticed several of them. I may not have watched much anime or manga during my previous life, but I lived in Japan, so I was bound to know of them." Tanya finally said, I nodded and smiled at her.
"And who said you're not one of them?" I asked playfully. Tanya froze once again, her face visibly falling and turning deathly pale. Her limbs went completely limp as she fell across my lap in disbelief.
"Tell me everything, everything," Tanya hissed loudly. I smiled at her in pity.
"Are you sure? It won't do you any good, it's not even close to what the series was about." I said simply, she stared at me.
"Everything." She repeated again I sighed and nodded. I didn't tell her 'everything.' We would have been there for a while and it was better to finish quickly so as not to draw attention. Especially if Taylor was still outside. So I gave her a pretty quick summary. She asked questions of her own, and in half an hour, I practically finished telling her everything I remembered about Youjo Senki.
"That bastard Being X!!" Tanya exclaimed, completely furious as she stood up, she was completely outraged. I chuckled.
"Is it necessary to get angry over something that may very well not exist in this world?" I asked simply. She stopped, frowned, and sat back down.
"Are you sure Being X doesn't exist?" she asked simply. I shrugged.
"Honestly, no. I haven't met any deities before or after coming to this world. I was just... dropped here with some extra abilities." I said simply. Tanya stopped and nodded.
"Do you recognize all… the worlds that combined into this one?" she asked again, I hummed as I nodded.
"Most, yes, not all, are completely intact, basically due to the same combination of worlds interfering with each other," I said simply.
"We have to tell everyone," she finally said, and I snorted loudly.
"Definitely not," I replied. She looked at me like I was crazy.
"What, why not? They deserve to know." Tanya said forcefully, I rolled my eyes.
"No, they don't," I said simply, Tanya seemed about to open her mouth again but I stopped her. "Look, it doesn't matter if it's 'canon' or not. It doesn't matter what happened with their series or not. Nothing matters. The people in this world had a different life than those in those series, a different reality, it won't do any good to tell them the truth because it won't change anything. It's not like they came or could go to those worlds, it's just stupid." I said firmly, Tanya opened her mouth to retort but quickly closed it .
"You're... right." She finally said as she slumped further into her seat. "I didn't have the same life you just mentioned, I'm definitely not a military brat rising through the world in a Nazi country about to start a world war." She said dryly. I nodded in amusement.
"Exactly, we can… discuss if you want about the other worlds, about important information that 'possibly' happens in the future, but for the rest? Just forget it. The people of this world are their own people, they deserve to live their own lives without trying to follow a ghost that never existed." I said with a sigh.
"Is that your experience?" she asked simply, I made a face, but nodded.
"I... I shouldn't exist, you're from a series where you practically had to be reincarnated, but me? No, the body I'm inhabiting is from another character from another series, a romantic comedy if you can believe it. There was... something during high school. I met this body's love interest and let's just say, well, what could go wrong? "
"Spoilers? It went really wrong. It's not the same world, it's not the same culture, I'm not the same Izumi and she definitely wasn't the same girl she was supposed to be, really a combination for disaster, we broke up after only two months of dating." I grimaced. Really, I was trying not to think about Kyoko Hori, to the point of almost erasing her from my mind. Really, that came out horribly. Luckily there had been no physical development in that relationship.
"Ouch," Tanya said simply. I just sighed and we stayed silent.
"So, your plans are still the same?" as she picked up the stack of papers. Tanya looked at them for a few seconds.
"You know what? Yeah, they're still the same. You're right, knowing about what my 'canon' would be doesn't change anything from now. I came to Japan with Visha to find a partner. I lived my entire previous life here, and I thought it would be easier to progress here. Our parents approved of it, so I have carte blanche." Tanya said as she shrugged before looking away. "Besides... I thought it would be easier to find a partner here who would accept me despite my... height." She finally said.
I burst out laughing. I could see Tanya blushing embarrassedly.
"Shut up, it's embarrassing! I'm 18 years old and I'm the height of a 12 year old boy! It's not funny at all! " Tanya growled and I smirked at her.
"Of course It is," I said amusedly. She snorted.
"So? Do you accept or not? " she asked simply while crossing her arms. I hummed.
"I have to talk to the other girls about it, but I'll think about it," I said simply. She nodded.
"Thank you for considering," she said, nodding.
"Still, I have to ask, are you still interested in having sex with me?" I asked simply.
"...is it a mandatory need?" she asked simply. I nodded.
"I like sex a lot. I have nothing against asexual relationships, but they are not for me. I would like to be able to make love to my partner, and certainly do not want them to feel uncomfortable in that situation." I said honestly. Tanya nodded.
"If my body doesn't bother you, then you don't have to worry about my side; it doesn't bother me," Tanya said as she shrugged. "Sex is sex, as long as you're good, or at least above average at it I'll be able to enjoy it, I certainly can't promise that I'll fall in love with you, but like I said, if you do agree to a relationship with me I'll be loyal to you and support you in everything," Tanya said simply. I nodded.
"That's good," I said simply. She nodded before turning and staring at me.
"But a warning, as we've already made it clear that you're not from this world just like me, I know what values you grew up with in the old world. So I'm warning you right now, I know you have many women and I have no problem with that, I was expecting it, so I won't ask you for the impossible like showering Visha with all your attention and affection all the time, but if you treat her badly or hurt Visha in any way, I will kill you." Tanya's eyes glinted dangerously. I smirked.
"Don't worry, having been on the other side, I understand the situation perfectly. I wouldn't hurt her on purpose." I said honestly. Tanya looked at me for a few seconds as if she was looking for some kind of lie, and then she finally nodded.
"Good." She said simply, now I smiled.
"Now… tell me, do you want to know about the other possible reincarnated person in your class?" I asked, amusedly. Tanya's eyes widened.
"There are others?!" she shrieked in disbelief. I burst out laughing.
"I have no idea. Her series is the same as yours, someone reincarnated in another world, but since you're here, then it's very possible." I said while shrugging.
"Who is it?" She asked quickly. I smiled.
" Katarina Claes." Tanya's eyes opened wide once again.
"That idiot?!" Tanya exclaimed incredulously. I burst out laughing; apparently, even in this world, she has that reputation. "At least tell me she's not stronger than me." Tanya almost begged.
"You don't have to worry. All you see in her is all she has, as weak and idiotic as she seems." I said, amusedly. Tanya sighed before looking at me in resignation.
"It's an otome, right?" she asked. I laughed once again. "You know what, just tell me about it, now."
Author's Notes: Long chapter! It wasn't planned to be long, but I wanted to fit the interactions for the new girls into one chapter, and it ended up being longer than I expected.
Now, we still have to wait for the internship arc to end, which will probably be relatively short, so that a new girl can possibly be added to the group. But I wanted to ask.
Is there a problem with Tanya being a reincarnator? And also with Katarina Claes ? Absolutely nothing will come of it besides the occasional chat between them and the MC about some meta-knowledge in some situations. But that's about it. Comment if that's the case!
Thanks for reading and support!
