The sun had finally lost its leading place in the world, leaving room for night to fall and for the majestic moon to rise from its place to take its place.
Beneath that majestic celestial body Sellen and Aldrich can be seen, both standing static looking down at the ruins of the bridge connecting to main Necrolimbo.
"This must work..."
Along with Aldrich's words, golden particles begin to gather in his hand and quickly take the shape of a bell.
It is the Spirit Summoning Bell, the same one that Ranni hands you the first time you encounter it in the Church of Elleh.
"What a fine and amazingly sophisticated artifact, it doesn't look like something that could be achieved with human hands."
"A gift from Ranni, Rennala's daughter."
"I see, though it doesn't look like something made entirely of magic, but has touches of the ancient giants and..."
Perhaps noticing that he had already lost Sellen again, Aldrich raises the Spirit Summoning Bell and rings it in the quiet of the night.
The air twists for a few moments, before a large amount of mana gathers in the same place and begins to take the form of a massive War Hawk.
The beauty of such a winged beast is completely obliterated, upon its head rests a strange mask and its claws are now swords.
"I go first, after securing the area, I send the bird for you"
"Understood."
Responding in a completely nonchalant manner, Sellen is still in his own personal world and knowing this, Aldrich jumps on the hawk to be carried to the other side.
...Aldrich pov....
Surprisingly there was no one guarding the other side of the bridge, which is odd, absolutely odd. Maybe they just treat sick people like mindless beasts? That would be the most normal thing to do, although they didn't behave like that when we confronted them.
With quite a few doubts running through my mind, I lightly tighten the War Hawks feathers and make it soar towards one of the two boulders surrounding the bridge, the ones from which rock tombs grow.
"Just as I thought, they have not left the bridge unattended, but have been driven off."
Directing the War Hawk to fly around, I notice several interesting things about this armed encampment.
First is that there is a corpse of a Dog Tyrant, or better known as the huge dogs of Caelid. Another thing to note is the disparity of weapons carried by the corpses, there are those with Godrick gear, others with Cuckoo gear and even Red Mane gear.
The first thing that came to my mind was surprise, what are these Caelid beasts doing here? But then I remembered all the reports, though this is too much... They must have already passed Necrolimbo East to be here.
"Descend here, besides go find the woman below."
Stroking the feathers on her body one last time, I watch as the War Hawk clears again and then begin to observe the....
"
Without hesitating even for a second, I flick my wrist and point the staff at the huge flying shadow that has covered the moonlight.
Dozens of purple spheres filled with gravitational power fly off into the sky, while after a few seconds of total silence, a piercing scream sounds and a huge body falls rapidly.
*Booom!*
Ignoring the cloud of dust rising into the sky, I raised my left hand and placed the newly summoned shield in front of my face. This proved to be the right thing to do, as a mighty pale spike slams against my shield and knocks me back a few steps.
"
Discarding the shield that disappears into a cluster of golden particulars, I took the two-handed Carian Knight Sword and activated the war ash.
The war ash is simple but effective, it basically turns the sword into a huge magic sword and the more you charge the skill, the bigger and more powerful it becomes.
Wiping away that barrage of information that quickly came to my mind, I slash downwards with the magic sword and split the dust cloud, tents, a siege crossbow and even the ground in half.
*Shriek*
Hearing the horrible scream of what I can now see as a huge deformed raven, I notice how my recent attack has cut off one of its wings and blood flows to the ground.
"A Caelid raven, now I understand what those crossbows are here for."
"Shard Vortex."
Before it can act again, a cluster of two spiral moving shards of sparkles descend from the sky and pierce the head of the monstrous raven.
It was a sickening sight, blood bursts everywhere and brain debris flies through the air, until the beast finally falls to the ground with a thud.
"Thanks for the help."
"Nothing major, though clearly these beasts are not from here... I can feel the traces of divinity."
"It would be more accurate to say traces, they have been exposed to the remains of Melania's rot on Caelid."
Adding a bit of context for her to know a bit more about this misshapen raven, I put away my sword and surveyed the surroundings one last time.
Already knowing that this place is not safe at all and that Caelid beasts have probably occupied Necrolimbo East, it was time to leave the games and move full speed ahead to Storm Veil.
"Another one of the Demigods... Interesting."
"Before you get lost in your thoughts again, please come up to Torrent"
"It was an unnecessary concern, I have standards for work sites... Standards that this site clearly does not meet."
Remaining silent for a few moments at how bad of a joke he just made, I remember Sellen doesn't seem to be the type to make jokes, so he probably just stated a fact.
Noticing that this was already going to get uncomfortable, just for me, I make Torrent's whistle appear and blow it so he's showing up.
With all said and done, we finally leave in the direction of Storm Veil Castle, the place where Nepheli Loux and Finley should be.
