Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Saltshore

Ra'Zhul not wasting any time flew with increasing speed towards the land stopping on the nearby beach.

Once on the beach Ra'Zhul saw several things on the surface. The first being a ship that had just ported in the town.

The second was how close the buildings were to the beach that resembled houses. And third the very sand with its many creatures that were hidden within its surface.

Ra'Zhul used his left corporal hand to feel the sand fall through his fingers along its sides as a series of small crabs fell back to their sandy homes on the surface of these sands.

Unlike most monsters Ra'Zhul didn't possess legs of any kind and is replaced with mist. Having to use the few mean Ra'Zhul could. Ra'Zhul resulted in using his corporeal hands for his sense of touch.

But Ra'Zhuls' wonder soon subsided as a set of life forms presences were felt causing him to be on the most highest of alerts.

With a pace unknown to man Ra'Zhul took back into his physiological form turning into pure black mist hiding away inside the shadow of the ship. Flying as fast as he could while maintaining his secrecy.

Once hidden in his shadowy escape Ra'Zhul bared witness to several life forms.

The first two were a set of men who compared to the rest seemed most threatening but not comparable to Ra'Zhuls strength. Or any of his masters ranks of soldiers.

The men in question wore suits of steel armor. However only one of the two men held a helmet over his face objectifying Ra'Zhuls' look.

The other knight wore the same outfit except revealed his brown hair and hazel eyes. This man seemed to be in charge based on his no helmet showing.

The mysterious man also had a small goatee and looked with semblance at the ocean as his steel boots felt the sands.

As the man looked at the clear sea two distinctive sets of laughter playing a melody behind him.

Where once turned bent down reaching his hands out with a smile grabbing the sources of the voices who both screamed with joy.

""Daddy!""

Ra'Zhul after hearing the children looked to the man from before growing a sense of familiarity with him as his 'Daddy' was both his father and master.

After this feeling Ra'Zhul maneuvered around the shadows of the ship trying to get a better look at the children in their father's arms.

The eldest looking child was a blonde haired green eyed girl. Wearing a crimson colored dress capitalizing her cuteness and youthfulness within the dress.

However her eyes are what entranced Ra'Zhul seeing them reminded him of his master as they seemed to be the eyes of the world almost.

The younger child didn't quite interest Ra'Zhul as he had simple features being both blonde haired green eyed which were colored a more emerald hue wearing a blue boys outfit.

The children seemed to be enraptured by their father but as they hugged each other Ra'Zhul felt a chill he hadn't felt in a long time looking to the source being the girl he just saw.

However this girls eyes changed from bright green to an even brighter and lighter golden. Showing them to be a holy light almost making any who looked to her be drawn like a moth to a dazzling flame.

Ra'Zhul was trapped not feeling his once loyal body. Feeling his form stiffen enable to move unless he was allowed.

After being locked to one place the girl looked to her father changing her eye color back to their original emerald hue asking him.

"Daddy can I go play by the ship?"

Her father looked to her worriedly and then looked to his son placing them down answering. Ra'Zhul remains hidden entered a question of identity for both himself and this child before him.

"Alright Tabitha only if your brother Christopher can go to."

The now named Tabitha looked slightly disappointed but her curiosity killed that disappointment and smiled lightly saying while tying her curled hair.

"Okay!"

The little Tabitha grabbed her brother Christopher's blue sleeve dragging him through the sand like a mission stopping him from disagreeing to play.

Ra'Zhul seeing the incoming children hid within the ships shadow maintaining his stealth thinking the child intended to 'play' around or with him.

However his Fathers goal and mission came first. And order to follow his mission of ser valence stealth was the more a necessity than a want.

After fusing himself with the shadow of the ship Ra'Zhul witnessed the two children play together. The boy or Christopher as Ra'Zhul learned started building sandcastles while his older sister played in the water unfurling her dress as not to get the salt water to stain the clothes she wore.

The two siblings continued like this until their father called "Christopher! Tabitha! Time to go!!" Hearing the calling of their father both children began to leave however one stayed Tabitha who turned before leaving looking directly at Ra'Zhul causing the party in question to simply return the look.

Tabitha smiled and then heard her father call again before she could question the spirit like creature she saw before her.

"Okay coming Dad!" Was Tabitha's response running towards them as she hugged her father and entered the village leaving Ra'Zhul on the sandy shore.

What I hadn't known at this time was that these two children would be my end one way or the other when they've matured.

Once free of Tabitha's sight Ra'Zhul as a necessary precaution remained hidden till nightfall in case other humans had a similar ability to the enigma known as Tabitha.

Luckily night was approaching and Ra'Zhul only waited three hours for the darkness to cover the town and with it a veil of darkness to cover the village and an easy way of travel was opened for maneuverability.

As Ra'Zhul navigated the city he's learned the name to be Salt Shore a city devised solely for their ability of water magic users of the years and through their refinement of salt thanks to a salt mine located within a sea cave within the city.

Other forms of information or at least information that was vital to report were the technology development. Which putting mildly was forsaken by god. Many citizens lay on the streets sickly and penniless to compensate their needs of hunger.

This huge factor even caused some to die on said streets where two guards were currently inspecting a body while one held a torch giving a necessary light as to inspect the corpse.

"Well?" Theo first knight holding the torch questioned the other hopping to be wrong. But the other knight only sighed as he flipped the carcass over ripping the simple rags from the beggars body spotting green spots with black rims located on the beggars back.

The second knight sighed "he's been taken by the Curse." Ra'Zhul observing them obviously noticed the peculiar word of 'Curse' and decided to continue watching the knights who after learning of this mans 'Curse' hesitated to pick him up but did so dragging him away from the village towards the sand shores of Salt Shore.

Where upon the shore line held a wooden boat that seemed meant for a send off to the underworld. Ra'Zhul witnessed the knights care for the 'Cursed' beggar placing him on the boat and pushing it to the coast watching as the boat reached a certain distance lighted and arrow thanks to the torch they carried sending the beggar off into the underworld.

"We send you off in Elphaba's embrace. May their holy light surround you in the after life."
