Mei smiled humbly, shaking her head slightly. Then she placed a plate on the table and scooped up a spoonful of creamy almond tofu, holding it up to Fu Lin's mouth.
Fu Lin didn't even have to lift a finger before the almond tofu reached his mouth. He swallowed it contentedly, then glanced smugly at Bianca.
"Lady Bianca, would you like me to feed you too?" Rita teased, her lips curling upward.
"N-No… I can do it myself."
Bianca hurriedly waved her hands and picked up a spoon, eating by herself. Seeing Bianca's shy reaction, Rita's smile softened, though a hint of disappointment flickered in her eyes.
--------------------------
"You guys eat first, I have something to do and need to head out."
Fu Lin looked up at the clock on the wall. Without realizing it, it was already 2:30. He stood up, stuffed a piece of sweet and sour pork into his mouth, and hurriedly rushed to the entrance.
He slipped on his shoes in one smooth motion, turned around to give an apologetic smile to the confused Bianca and Rita, and then left the house.
The piece of food Bianca was holding unconsciously slipped from her chopsticks into her plate. She looked at Mei with a puzzled expression—since Mei spent time with Fu Lin every day, she should know something, right?
So she asked, "Where is Fu Lin going?"
"Fu Lin has been going out at this time every day recently. I'm not exactly sure what he's doing." Mei shook her head, but Bianca's question sparked a slight curiosity within her—just a slight one.
"Hehe~ Why don't we follow him and find out?" Bianca's eyes lit up, and a mischievous smile curled at her lips as she looked at Rita and Mei.
"That's not really a good idea... Besides, Fu Lin told me not to follow him." Mei bit her lip and stared at the milky white almond tofu in her bowl, looking torn.
"Well, that's too bad. Rita, let's go." Bianca shrugged, feeling sorry for Mei. Then she stood up and pushed the bewildered Rita toward the door.
Mei raised her head and looked at the two of them with confusion. There was still food on the table—why were they leaving so suddenly?
So she asked, "What are you guys planning to do?"
Bianca stopped walking, glanced over her shoulder at Mei's puzzled expression, and smiled without answering. She gave Mei a meaningful look, then continued to push Rita toward the door.
"Wait..." Mei instantly understood. She stood up, walked to the door, and spread her arms to block their path.
Bianca peeked out from behind Rita. "Something wrong?"
"…Take me with you." Mei lowered her head and spoke so softly that it was like a gentle breeze rustling the leaves—barely audible to the average person.
But the two in front of her were not average people. They heard her loud and clear.
Bianca and Rita exchanged a glance, a sly gleam flashing through their eyes. Looking at the shy and soft-spoken Mei, they nodded slightly.
Thus, the trio formed a team. Under the sunlight, they stepped out the door together, their powerful aura stirring up a soft breeze around them.
"Where should we start looking for Fu Lin?"
The street ahead was nearly empty, with only a few people walking by. Fu Lin's figure was already out of sight. Mei scratched her cheek and looked at Bianca awkwardly.
Bianca put one hand on her hip and smiled confidently. She stood her ground, shook her golden, dazzling hair, and said, "Rita."
"Leave it to me, Lady Bianca." Rita nodded, pulled out a high-tech flashlight from beneath her skirt, and gently shone it on the road leading from Mei's house. A series of complex overlapping shoe prints instantly became visible.
Rita crouched down, her eyes narrowing slightly as she studied the patterns on the ground. It didn't take long for her to identify Fu Lin's footprints among them.
"Lady Bianca, please follow me."
Bianca and Mei nodded and quietly followed Rita's lead down the deserted street. Soon, Fu Lin's figure came into view ahead of them.
"Fu Lin…" Bianca was just about to call out when Mei and Rita quickly covered her mouth and pulled her into a nearby alley.
Fu Lin stopped and looked around suspiciously. Seeing only a few passersby, he seemed confused.
A refined and elegant woman beside him followed his gaze, then asked curiously, "What's wrong, little brother?"
Fu Lin withdrew his gaze and smiled apologetically at the woman beside him. "Sorry, I thought I heard someone calling me. I guess I was mistaken."
The woman covered her mouth and chuckled. "Maybe it was one of your little fangirls calling you but got too shy and ran away."
Fu Lin smiled faintly.
"Sister, stop teasing me. I'm not some big celebrity. Where would I get fangirls from?" The woman Fu Lin called Sister crossed her arms and stared at Fu Lin's handsome face.
Without realizing it, she swallowed hard and said, "I'm just telling the truth. All those girls who come to the shop every day are clearly coming for you."
Fu Lin smiled humbly. "That's because you sell quality dolls at a good price. It has nothing to do with me."
The sister snorted playfully and lightly punched Fu Lin's arm.
"If that were true, why did that girl confess to you the other day? And you were so cold-hearted—you rejected her outright and almost made her cry…"
Fu Lin scratched his head awkwardly. "Let's not bring that up anymore."
...
Now, let's pull the perspective back to Bianca, Rita, and Mei, who had been tailing Fu Lin all this time.
"Who's that woman with Fu Lin? They seem pretty close…"
Bianca rubbed her chin and glanced back and forth between Fu Lin and the woman. After a moment, her eyes widened in realization.
"Could it be… Fu Lin's girlfriend? That would explain everything! No wonder he didn't want us following him—he was afraid we'd interrupt their date!"
