Her bare feet pressed into something smooth and cool. Not grass, not stone—something in between. The ground beneath her shimmered like polished glass, reflecting the golden light that poured down from an endless twilight sky.
She inhaled deeply.
The air smelled faintly of flowers, though she couldn't see any. There was a strange, almost dreamlike quality to this place, as if it were untouched by time.
