Chapter 172 - Chapter 172: One of V5

"In the history of humanity, the first recorded Nen practitioners emerged in the Taris Kingdom."

Kaizen's sharp gaze lingered on the scroll in his hands.

"This information could fetch a good price if sold to the royal family of Fiora," he mused.

Kaizen had never encountered Fiora in the Hunter x Hunter canon, yet after entering this world, the name had surfaced countless times.

The human world's political hierarchy was dominated by the V5. Despite its deceptive simplicity, "V5" wasn't the name of a single nation—it represented the collective of five powerful countries. Each had its own identity, and Fiora was among them.

To be part of V5 was a testament to a nation's immense political, economic, and military strength.

The Kakin Empire, introduced during the Black Whale arc, had shown unparalleled capabilities:

The mysterious egg-in-a-pot ritual. The prodigious potential of its 14 princes. The sheer might of the Kakin gang.

Even so, Kakin hadn't initially earned a place in the V5. It wasn't until the expedition to the Dark Continent that their worth was acknowledged, ultimately transforming V5 into V6.

This underscored the remarkable power of the original V5 nations.

While individuals like Netero, Maha Zoldyck, or Ging Freecss might surpass V5's leaders in personal strength, this didn't diminish the Nen capabilities of those nations. On the contrary, V5's Nen practitioners were formidable.

In the realm of nations, Nen wasn't merely a tool but a necessity. Without skilled Nen users, a country was defenseless against the covert assassinations and sabotage that Nen could facilitate.

The Zoldyck family, renowned for their unparalleled assassination skills, was a private force and thus outside the reach of V5's influence. Similarly, the Hunter Association, founded by Isaac Netero, was independent of governmental control, its members valuing Netero's principles above external politics.

Only a nation's internal forces could truly be trusted, and for Fiora, that trust resided in its royal family.

"Back then, the Nen practitioners from the Taris Kingdom overstepped and offended V5 by targeting Fiora's royalty," Kaizen read aloud.

"The result was catastrophic. The Taris Kingdom was nearly obliterated, reduced to chaos and lawlessness, similar to Meteor City today. The royal family of Fiora harbors an enduring hatred for Taris Nen users. This information will undoubtedly hold immense value to them."

Kaizen nodded in agreement with himself, a plan forming in his mind.

Later, in the Zoldyck family estate, Kaizen sat across from Maha Zoldyck, the family's revered great-grandfather.

"Kaizen, show me your aura," Maha commanded.

"Yes, Great-Grandfather."

Kaizen stepped back, closed his eyes, and focused his energy.

A wave of intense aura erupted from Kaizen, rippling through the air and scattering the insects hidden in the nearby grass. Even from a distance, Zeno Zoldyck, who had excused himself earlier, paused and looked back.

"Impressive," Zeno murmured. "I wonder if Killua will reach this level at Kaizen's age. Silva, Illumi, and I couldn't back then. Perhaps Kaizen might one day match Grandfather Maha."

Back in the courtyard, Maha's sharp eyes scrutinized Kaizen's technique.

"Continue," Maha instructed.

Kaizen moved through the fundamental Nen techniques: Ten, Zetsu, Ren, and Hatsu. As his aura flared, it coalesced into distinct shapes—his Nen beasts.

Maha's eyes narrowed slightly at the sight of Kaizen's creations:

Killer Queen, a deadly assassin-type beast. Raiken, a sharp and precise combatant. Altan, a skilled medic. Akutagawa Ryunosuke, a chaotic and unpredictable force.

Maha nodded approvingly. "You've been diligent in maintaining your training while traveling. That's good. Many forget the basics when they venture out."

"Which of these Nen beasts do you rely on most in direct combat?" Maha asked.

Kaizen's mind raced. While Altan and Killer Queen were primarily support types, Raiken and Akutagawa Ryunosuke were his go-to choices for combat.

Maha rose to his feet, his commanding presence filling the space.

"Attack me with everything—your Nen beasts and your own strength," Maha said.

Kaizen's expression hardened. "Yes, Great-Grandfather."
