Leo made his way home, cutting down any monsters that dared cross his path. Their roars echoed through the night, but he barely paid them any attention. He struck them down effortlessly, their bodies vanishing into nothingness. It was routine now—almost mindless. He had too much on his mind to care.
By the time he reached home, exhaustion weighed on his body. He scanned the house, noting Aisha's absence. A part of him was relieved; he wasn't sure how to face her yet.
Sighing, he walked straight to the bathroom, stripping off his worn-out clothes. He stepped into the cold shower, letting the water wash away the grime, sweat, and stress that had piled up. The academy's destruction. The shadow organization now hunting him. The looming threats he couldn't yet see. It all built up inside him, tightening like a noose around his neck.
But in the silence of the shower, he could finally breathe.
