True Deceit

From the farthest north of the empire, where the cold is the only innocent that can harm you. It's a place where I survived and learned: to kill or be killed. My life is my priority, and power is essential. I grew up in a land where men are shaped by sins or fall from their virtue. I was born into a noble bloodline, steeped in the glories of the past—glories we can never reclaim. We are deemed shields against the harsh weather and the monsters that lurk within it. Due to my ancestors betrayal, we were left to be punished, to be revered nobles in name but reduced to hunting dogs, tasked with tracking down fugitives and beasts alike. We are prisoners,or a mere justification for death—for the empire. Yet, as the emperor acknowledged my suffering and lifted our shackles, granting me the power I sought. Still, nothing lasts long. Invasions, wars, and disasters plagued the years, as if deities conspired against us. Armed with knowledge of the past and glimpses of the future, I hold memories that have faded. I will use this knowledge to change everything, by any means necessary. Why? Simply because I want to.
