Chapter 181 - Chapter 181: Wood Dragon

"Unbelievable. It's really the Wood Release, powerful enough to subdue tailed beasts."

"So…. this is the power that once helped the First Hokage bring peace to the chaotic world?"

"Wait, why does Lady Tsunade have the Wood Release of the First Hokage?"

"I heard she's the granddaughter of the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju. It's possible she inherited the Wood Release."

Right as the Six-Tails was about to be overpowered, this shocking scene left Mei and the other Kirigakure shinobis completely dumbfounded.

They stared, wide-eyed and slack-jawed, in disbelief, barely able to form words. A cold sweat crept over their scalps, leaving them feeling unnerved.

"Amazing, Lady Tsunade."

Seeing the Six-Tails struggle in vain, Karin's eyes lit up with excitement.

"I knew the Wood Release was powerful, but I've never seen it used like this." Shizune, holding her pig, Tonton, could only marvel as well, her face filled with pride.

Since the First Hokage's death, a scene like this—using Wood Release to directly suppress a tailed beast—hadn't been witnessed.

Tonton snorted in agreement, "Oink~~~ Oink~~~"

"So… this is the power of Wood Release?"

Not far away, Mei took a deep breath, her gaze fixed on the colossal tree-like vines that wrapped around the Six-Tails, restraining it with unbreakable strength.

Her beautiful face was full of awe.

"It's just like the stories said. she's holding down the Six-Tails effortlessly."

Mei's eyes locked onto Tsunade in the distance, a swirl of emotions brewing within—shock, fear, even envy.

As one of the Mist's most esteemed kunoichi, Mei had always been proud of her beauty and power, holding her head high.

She had believed that even Tsunade, one of the Sannin, was simply older, having made her name decades ago.

Mei was confident that if they were the same age, she'd be no less impressive.

But right now.

Staring at Tsunade—who was supposedly in her forties or fifties yet looked as radiant as an eighteen-year-old with flawless, youthful skin—Mei had to admit she felt a rare pang of inadequacy.

Moreover, Mei was certain this wasn't some mere Transformation Jutsu. In both appearance and strength, Tsunade was effortlessly surpassing her.

This rare moment of defeat washed over her, making her feel slightly shaken.

Mei knew she wasn't afraid of the Six-Tails' power, however, she had to concede that she lacked a quick way to subdue a beast of such magnitude.

Yet here was Tsunade, a legend among the Sannin, who had easily subdued the rampaging Six-Tails with the same Wood Release that the First Hokage had used to bring peace to the world—a technique that had seemingly disappeared from the shinobi world for decades.

It was truly difficult to believe.

"What's wrong, Lady Mei?" Kiyoshi asked with a slight smile as he noticed the rare hint of discouragement on Mei's usually composed face. "Did that hit a nerve?"

"Of course not."

Mei snapped back to herself.

She saw the amused look in Kiyoshi's eyes and couldn't help but blush, quickly dispelling her wandering thoughts and regaining her usual poise.

"I'm just…. surprised, that's all."

Her gaze flickered as she stared at the Six-Tails bound in wood, her expression complex and full of regret.

"I never thought that Wood Release, long vanished from the world, would reappear like this."

Seeing Wood Release's true power with her own eyes only raised her opinion of Tsunade further.

But if Tsunade were an enemy, such strength from the Konoha could only spell trouble for the Mist.

Mei was certain that no shinobi faction would welcome the return of a "God of Shinobi" capable of dominating the shinobi world.

"You don't need to worry, Lady Mei. Once we're married, Konoha and Kirigakure will be one family." Kiyoshi said with a sly grin.

"M-m-married."

For a moment, Mei's face flushed. She quickly composed herself, glaring at Kiyoshi with a playful smile in her eyes.

"You think you can just marry me that easily?"

"I'll have you know, my standards are very high."

"Good thing I'm no ordinary man. Do you think someone as exceptional as me could be compared to some 'run-of-the-mill' suitors?"

Kiyoshi replied with unshakeable confidence, pounding his chest. "If it ever comes to that, I'll storm into Kirigakure and elope with you."

"....."

Mei could only chuckle helplessly at his audacity. She had never met someone so self-assured.

Still, with his good looks, it was easy to see why he was so confident. In a few years, when he matured, his charm would undoubtedly be overwhelming.

As the two of them bantered, Karin was nearby, grinding her teeth.

She muttered angrily, calling Kiyoshi a "heartless womanizer" and "shameless playboy," while Shizune sighed with a knowing smile.

….

At that moment, as it was about to be entirely bound by the massive wooden vines, the Six-Tails let out a furious roar, unleashing a shockwave of chakra that blasted through the air.

Acidic fluid began to seep from its body, corroding the wood that had ensnared it. It curled itself up tightly, its tails spiraling and spinning like a top.

"Whoosh..."

"Boom! Boom!"

The massive beast spun, turning into a white blur that lashed out at its surroundings.

The immense vines were shredded, and the endless tide of wood was crushed under its ferocious onslaught.

"Watch out! Fall back everyone!"

Seeing the Six-Tails break free, Karin, Shizune, and the Mist shinobis all turned pale and leapt backward immediately.

"Boom! Boom!"

The earth rumbled as dust billowed into the air. Vast sections of the forest were obliterated, reduced to a desolate wasteland.

"Swish..."

Tsunade leapt backward, widening the distance between herself and the Six-Tails.

Her expression remained calm as her hands moved swiftly.

"Impressive! You live up to the title of a tailed beast... but how about this?"

"Wood Release: Wood Dragon Jutsu!"

"Boom! Boom!"

In an instant, under the astonished gazes of Mei, Ao, and the others, massive trees rapidly grew and twisted, forming a colossal, dragon-like entity with a seemingly endless length.

"Roar!"

With unrestrained ferocity, the wooden dragon shot forward like lightning, slamming into the Six-Tails with unfathomable force.

The spinning Six-Tails roared in agony, its deafening howl sending shockwaves through the air, making it hard for anyone to keep their eyes open.

But the dragon's immense power was unstoppable, forcing the Six-Tails backward with every impact.

"Boom! Boom!"

The ground trembled as the Six-Tails staggered, its fury and frustration palpable.

It whipped its massive tails, creating gale-force winds, and unleashed a spray of corrosive acid toward the dragon.

"Swish..."

However, under Tsunade's precise control, the thorn-covered wood dragon moved with remarkable speed, easily dodging the attack.

"Zzz..."

The ground, already devastated, sizzled and melted under the corrosive assault, but in mere seconds.

"Whoosh—"

A piercing sound cut through the air as the giant wood dragon, like a sentient serpent, coiled around the Six-Tails with blinding speed.

Its thorny tendrils pierced deep into the beast's body, causing it to scream in agony, sending chills down the spine of anyone watching.

"Swish..."

The next moment, the dragon's head pressed against the Six-Tails' head, rapidly absorbing its chakra.

The enormous wood dragon blossomed with vibrant green leaves, pulsing with life.

"Roar!"

As its chakra was drained, the Six-Tails grew weaker, its massive form shrinking before everyone's eyes.
