Duke Campbell showed a relaxed smile on his face, which then turned solemn as he looked at his daughter and spoke.
"Daddy is soon going to a faraway place..."
"No! Don't go! You will get better, right?" Erin interrupted him with a voice choked with tears.
Duke Campbell gently gripped his daughter's hand, speaking with a kind voice.
"Everyone has their day, whether mortals or the chosen. So don't be sad for me; I am merely laying down the armor on my shoulders to embark on the next journey. Perhaps in the next cycle, we shall meet again..."
At this, he paused for a moment, then under the gaze of numerous astonished eyes, he spoke those words.
"I have bequeathed my duchy and the knights to your two brothers, yet forgot to leave something for you..."
"Now, I have decided to give my sword to you."
With these last words, Aaron Campbell finally closed his eyes, departing for another world with a smile free of regrets.
