The moment she stepped into Haven's hospital room, the little girl greeted her with a warm smile. She waved excitedly, her innocent grin somehow reigniting the energy in Charlotte's body, which had felt drained all day.
"Auntie Charlotte!" Haven exclaimed cheerfully. She reached out, trying to hold her hand. "You came!"
Charlotte walked closer, letting the little girl wrap her tiny fingers around hers. "Of course, I came," she whispered, then pressed a soft kiss to Haven's forehead. "I've been waiting for you to wake up."
Haven giggled, pulling back slightly. "I have so much to tell you! Daddy said I survived a deadly wizard's poison, and now I have superpowers!"
