Purgatory was situated in a desolate location, as far removed from any civilized lands as Hell is from Heaven. To leave this place, one either risked being devoured by wild beasts, traversing vast primitive jungles, or took the leap off the cliff to drift in the bone-chilling Pacific Ocean.
