Chapter 101 - 100: Huh?

"I suggest you fly down right now, or you won't like what happens next."

"If you've got the guts, fly down yourself!"

"You damn—!"

Seeing that this guy was completely unmoved, Hakuto had no choice but to resort to extreme measures.

"I'll visit you and Takajo in the hospital."

The moment he finished speaking, he activated his supercomputing ability. In his eyes, the world fell silent once again.

He looked at the flying ability user below him, sighed, and then completely detached himself, hovering mid-air.

Hakuto wasn't actually flying. In reality, he was slowly descending—but so slowly that he wouldn't touch the ground even by next June.

For a normal person, falling from 300 meters would take about seven to eight seconds. But in Hakuto's perspective, those seven to eight seconds stretched into seven to eight years.

Floating in midair, Hakuto took a deep breath as he looked at the ability user still maintaining a diving posture in flight.

"This is my first time fighting in the air."

The moment he finished speaking, he twisted his body into an extremely awkward position and aimed his heel straight at the flying ability user's neck.

However, just as his strike was about to land, Hakuto immediately deactivated his supercomputing ability.

The world around him resumed its normal flow, and his foot slammed into the opponent's neck.

"Ahh!!"

With a miserable scream, the flying ability user rolled his eyes and lost control, plummeting from the sky.

At the same time, Hakuto also began to descend under the pull of gravity after deactivating his ability.

Hakuto couldn't carry someone while using his ability at full power.

The only reason he himself could still move in that state was that his brain controlled his body with enhanced precision.

If he moved at his full speed while carrying another person, they'd probably die the moment he deactivated his ability.

That was exactly why he chose to knock out the flying ability user instead—so he couldn't struggle.

It was also why he deactivated his ability the moment his kick landed.

Because if anything went wrong in this process, the consequences would be far worse than just passing out...

Alright, explanation over. Hakuto needed to activate his ability again—because he was about to hit the ground.

"Supercomputing! Ahem!"

As soon as Hakuto spoke, the world once again fell silent.

In his eyes, the unconscious flying ability user was frozen in midair, mere centimeters from smashing into the ground.

Fortunately, Hakuto reactivated his ability in time. He moved like a fish diving into water, slowly landing on the ground.

He then walked over to the flying ability user, placed a hand under his chest, and deactivated his ability once more.

"Oh~ Smooth landing!"

Hakuto casually dropped the unconscious ability user onto the ground, dusted off his hands, and wiped away some imaginary sweat from his forehead.

At that moment, Nao arrived at the scene, holding a camera.

She looked at Hakuto, who was already covered in bruises, shook her head, and sighed in disappointment.

"I really thought you were dead."

"Sorry to disappoint you..."

"Do you need me to call an ambulance?"

"Takajo probably needs it more than I do. As for that guy... he'll wake up soon. You can try convincing him to join the academy."

Though Hakuto had suggested sending the flying ability user to the hospital, he had actually been careful not to inflict serious injuries.

"Nishimori already took Takajo to the hospital, so you don't have to worry."

"If that's the case, he's probably grinning even in his hospital bed."

Hakuto had no doubt about Jojiro's obsessive devotion to his idol—practically one step away from being a full-blown stalker.

At that moment, Hakuto finally asked the question he had been meaning to ask.

"Nao..."

"What is it?"

"You said my ability conflicts with Otosaka Yuu's. Do you know what exactly that conflict is?"

Upon hearing this, Nao pointed at the camera in her hand and glanced at Hakuto with a hint of disdain.

"I thought you would've figured it out already."

"Supercomputing isn't fortune-telling. I can't just use it whenever I want."

Hakuto had some guesses, but he wanted to hear the correct answer from her directly.

Nao slowly lowered the camera, smirked, and pulled a chocolate bar from her pocket.

"Do you know what I saw just now when you were fighting that flying ability user?"

"What else? From your perspective, I must have looked like I was teleporting."

"Takajo's ability is also called teleportation, but I can still see him move with my naked eye."

"But you..." She picked up the camera again and showed Hakuto the footage on the screen.

"I slowed this down five times, and I still can't see you."

"Five times?"

Hakuto was surprised. Just five times wasn't nearly enough.

"Yeah, five times. This camera records at about 25 frames per second, meaning it can only slow things down by a maximum of eight times."

"But..." Nao pulled out her phone and showed him another video.

"This was taken using the most advanced equipment available at our school..."

In the video, Hakuto snapped his fingers—and then vanished into thin air, appearing in another location the next instant.

Hakuto didn't react much to this video since it was something Nao had asked him to record in the first place.

"So? Did you see my movements?"

"No... We slowed it down nearly a hundred times and even had an ability user with enhanced dynamic vision watch it, but they still couldn't see what you did."

"You've been rambling on forever. What are you trying to say?"

"Hakuto... If you ever accidentally run into someone while using your ability, that person would probably shatter into pieces instantly."

"I know..."

Hakuto was well aware of this problem, which was why he always avoided physical contact with others while using his ability.

Whenever he needed to touch someone, he would deliberately limit himself. After all, he had no intention of killing anyone.

"I should take you somewhere. There's someone who wants to meet you."

"?? So after all that rambling, you still don't know what the conflict is?"

"Huh? When did I ever say I knew?"

"You... I... Please, just let me punch you once!"
