After retrieving the test papers, Hakuto returned to his room. To be honest, after spending so much time with a certain someone, this was the first time he hadn't heard her complain.
"Tsk... I was out there working my butt off, and you just lay in my bed and fell asleep?"
Hakuto sat on a chair, looking at Nao, who was fast asleep in his bed. He couldn't help but feel a little helpless.
At least she had kept her promise. Even though she got bored and fell asleep in his room, she hadn't gone out and caused trouble.
Hakuto sighed, placed the test papers on his desk, and turned around to clean up the doujinshi that Nao had scattered all over.
"Never thought I'd see the day when I'd be picking up a girl's doujinshi after she threw them all over my room..."
He muttered as he cleaned up.
Meanwhile, Nao was curled up in his bed, hugging his pillow, sleeping soundly—leaving behind a mess for him to deal with.
Hakuto swore, if his supercomputer ability could completely stop time, he would make Nao experience a full doujinshi-plot scenario.
After tidying up, Hakuto stuffed all the doujinshis back under the bed. Then, as he looked at the peacefully sleeping Nao, a mischievous grin appeared on his face.
"You little... threatening me, huh?"
He grabbed a watercolor marker and carefully wrote the words "turtle" on her forehead.
As he wrote, he couldn't stop himself from laughing. And when he saw those two characters clearly visible on her forehead, he completely lost it.
Luckily, Nao was a deep sleeper and didn't wake up from Hakuto's laughter. Otherwise, she might have kicked him with her black-sock-covered feet.
Once he finished writing, Hakuto pulled out his phone, leaned close to her sleeping face, and snapped a picture.
"Now I've got something to use against you..." He waved his fist at the sleeping Nao.
He would remember today's humiliation for the rest of his life—and this picture, he'd hold onto it forever as leverage against her.
"Sleep tight, just don't snore..."
Hakuto actually didn't mind Nao sleeping in his bed.
If anything, this was better—at least she wouldn't be out causing trouble.
Still, he wondered if a beautiful girl like Nao would snore... probably not... right?
Who knew... The only thing Hakuto was certain of was that Ginko didn't snore. After all, she was the only one he had ever slept next to.
Hakuto picked up the test papers from his desk and was about to leave his room.
But just as he grabbed them, there was a knock at the door.
"Knock, knock, knock~"
"Huh!?"
Hearing the knocks, Hakuto almost tossed the test papers into the air out of shock!
After all, Nao was asleep, and her invisibility ability wasn't a passive skill.
Thankfully, after the experience of Miku barging in last time, Hakuto had learned to lock his door.
"Shiratori-sensei! Shiratori-sensei~ What are you doing in there?"
"What am I doing? Looking for your hundred test papers!" Hakuto snapped as he heard Yotsuba's voice outside the door.
After all, she had just scared the life out of him.
After saying that, Hakuto opened the door just a crack, squeezed through, and stepped out.
"Huh?" Yotsuba looked at the way Hakuto came out, her face full of confusion.
"Hah? Why did you come out like that?" Nino, standing next to her, asked directly.
"Do I even need to explain? Obviously, because there's something in my room that I don't want anyone to see." Hakuto grinned, making it impossible to tell whether he was joking or serious.
"Huh? Something secret?" Nino instinctively craned her neck, trying to peek inside.
But Hakuto was tall, and the door was only slightly open. All she could see was his grinning face—nothing else.
"What kind of secret thing?"
"Nino, I'm a guy, you know? Isn't it a bit inappropriate to ask about this kind of stuff?"
Hearing this, Nino's face instantly turned red. She suddenly had a rough idea of what he might be talking about.
"It's not like I wanted to ask... It's just that you were in there for so long, I thought maybe you were hiding a woman in there."
"That's not funny." Hakuto closed the door—but didn't lock it. Locking it now would only confirm the joke she just made.
Even though he knew Nino was joking, Hakuto couldn't help but sigh. Women's intuition was terrifying.
What he had said about having something secret in his room was half a joke.
Any normal guy's room would have at least a few things they didn't want others to see—nothing unusual about that.
Hakuto was no different. He just needed a good excuse to explain why he had been inside for so long.
And he had to make sure Nino wouldn't try to barge into his room. But since he wasn't "good" at lying, he could only tell the truth—more or less.
Whatever Nino imagined after that was out of his control.
As for why he didn't lock the door—come on, it just looked unlocked from Nino's perspective.
"Shiratori-sensei... My hundred test papers..." Yotsuba didn't care about any of this secret-stuff talk. She was only concerned about her hundred test papers.
"Relax, there are plenty, I won't break my promise." Hakuto grinned, shaking the stack of test papers in his arms.
"No... That's not what I meant." Yotsuba felt like the sky was collapsing.
She had been hoping that Hakuto might not have that many left. After all, she had only mentioned a few dozen herself.
But now, it was clear that wasn't the case...
